Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon

Me and my partner came for 10 days for our honeymoon! It was amazing and we were so well cared for. All staff members are incredibly friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to be around. I’d like to shoutout Kumara and his team at the pool bar who went over and above to make sure we were well fed and hydrated with soft and alcoholic drinks. Prasad at the tropic bar who always greeted us with a hug and made our evening drinks. Samith who cleaned our room and made the most beautiful towel decorations. And finally Renuka at the restaurant who always remembered our names, where we’d like to sit, and made our last evening extra special. The hotel itself has an amazing pool, a beach on its doorstep which has local turtles and baby sharks, and it has great access to Hikkaduwa and Galle. The food and drinks selection was excellent, and the buffet in the evening was surprisingly good. We did go slightly early in the season so it did feel fairly quiet, however that was perfect for what we wanted! The rooms do need upgrading a little to make them feel more modern, but they were always very clean so no issues there. We did have a wonderful honeymoon and the hotel staff have truly made it extra luxurious. So a big thank you from Paige & Dec. ⭐ 1/5 – Shockingly unhygienic and unacceptable We were absolutely appalled by the condition of our accommodation at Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon. The room was simply not clean to an acceptable hotel standard. There was visible dirt and grime, badly stained and dirty areas, poor cleanliness around the bathroom and fixtures, and areas that looked as though they had not been properly deep-cleaned or maintained for a considerable time. What concerned us most was the overall level of hygiene. This wasn't a case of finding one small thing that had been missed by housekeeping – there were problems throughout the room. We took numerous photographs and videos because we genuinely could not believe the condition we had been expected to accept. A dehumidifier had also been placed in the room and subsequently leaked water across the floor, creating an additional safety concern. We raised the condition of the room with the hotel, but the alternative offered did not give us confidence that the cleanliness issues would be resolved. We ultimately felt so uncomfortable with the hygiene and standard of the accommodation that we could not stay at the hotel and left. For a hotel that presents its rooms as offering comfort and relaxation, the reality of the accommodation we were given was incredibly disappointing. Cleanliness and basic hygiene are the absolute minimum anyone should be able to expect from a hotel. In our experience, those basic standards were simply not met. We have extensive photographic and video evidence to support everything we have described, and a formal complaint regarding our experience is currently in progress. Sadly, based purely on the cleanliness, hygiene and condition of the accommodation we were provided, I could not recommend this hotel.

Overall great service offered by the staff specially at the food restaurant, pool side and housekeeping.

We had an excellent overall experience at Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon. The service was outstanding, and the staff were very friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. However, there are a few areas that could be improved. Water from the bathroom flowed into the room area, seemingly due to an improper floor slope and drainage issue. This is a relatively small infrastructure detail, but it can significantly affect the guest experience and should be addressed. We also noticed a Palm Civet at the balcony area during the night. While this was an interesting experience, better attention to balcony and room-area maintenance could help ensure guest comfort and safety. The food had a good selection, but considering the price we paid, I felt the variety could be improved further. Overall, Hikka Tranz offers excellent service and a beautiful experience. With some improvements to the infrastructure and greater attention to small details, the property could provide an even better experience while maintaining its existing charm and character.
