A Absolute Taste of Sri Lanka situated at The Finest Beach resort with a View to the Southern Sea coast.. Absolute stunner when it comes to the SunSet a View to an amazement… A Hearty Thank Your Mahinda Lal You are one of Our finest reason to come to your hotel as you showed us How Hospitality is shown & delivered this has continued since Over 10years, Our visits never stopped.. The Standards Hospitality is only getting better… Hearty ThankYou Keep up the Great Work Mahinda.. Chef JASVIR your Food Took me & Family to North of India… With the Taste & Flavour of your Unique India dishes My wife is a Vegetarian & it was a absolute delight Well Done & Keep up the Great Work.. One of the things that unexpectedly became one of our favourite parts of staying at the Taj Bentota Resort & Spa was the wonderful housekeeping team and the little surprises they left for us each day. While we were out, the housekeeping staff would use fresh towels to create these beautiful little animals on our beds. Some days it was an elephant, other times something completely different, and they would even add little flowers and petals to bring them to life. It was such a simple gesture, but it brought an incredible amount of joy to our family. Every time we opened the door to our room, there would be something new waiting for us. It became a small moment that we genuinely looked forward to. We would walk in, see what they had created that day, and immediately have a smile on our faces. It may seem like a small detail, but after a long day out, coming back to a room that had clearly been prepared with so much care made us feel incredibly welcomed. What touched us most was the thought behind it. The housekeeping team did not have to do any of this. They could have simply cleaned the room, changed the towels and gone about their day. Instead, they chose to put in the extra effort to create something that would make their guests happy. That kind of thoughtfulness is what stays with you. The towel animals themselves were so beautifully made that we actually started taking pictures of them because we didn’t want to forget them. They became a little part of our family’s memories from the trip. It is easy to associate great hotel experiences with beautiful rooms, good food or excellent facilities, but sometimes it is these tiny, unexpected gestures that mean the most. The housekeeping team managed to make something as ordinary as returning to our room feel special every single time. To the housekeeping team at Taj Bentota, thank you for putting so much care and creativity into what you do. You probably didn’t realise how much happiness those little towel creations brought to our family, but they genuinely did. Every single one put a smile across our faces, and that is something we will remember long after leaving Bentota.

Some experiences are special because of the place, and some become unforgettable because of the people you meet there. Our evening at the Taj Bentota Resort & Spa was very much the latter. We were at the resort to celebrate my aunt’s 50th birthday, and from the beginning, there was a feeling that this was going to be an evening we would remember. What we did not expect was for the dinner to become one of the most meaningful parts of our entire stay. A huge part of that was because of Head Chef Dalip Singh. Chef Dalip is the kind of person who makes you feel like you have known him for years within minutes of meeting him. He went out of his way to make the evening personal for our family, putting together an incredible spread of Indian and Sri Lankan dishes himself. Every dish had something different to offer, and it was obvious that there was a tremendous amount of thought, knowledge and passion behind the food. But honestly, it was not just the food that made Chef Dalip so memorable. It was the way he made us feel. He spent time with our family throughout the evening, talking to us about Sri Lanka, its history and culture, and the stories behind its food. We spoke about the similarities and differences between Sri Lankan and Indian cuisine, and he shared so much of his knowledge with such genuine enthusiasm that dinner became much more than just a meal. There was a real connection there, and that is something you cannot create simply by having good food or excellent service. The whole evening was beautifully put together. Having the dinner by the pool made the celebration feel intimate and special, and we are very grateful to Mr. Sureshkannah, the Director of Food & Beverage, for making the arrangements so seamlessly. Rusan and Chandana were wonderful throughout the evening as well—warm, attentive and always making sure our family had everything we needed. But what stayed with me most was Chef Dalip’s sincerity. In an industry where hospitality can sometimes feel scripted, nothing about him felt that way. His kindness was effortless, his passion for food was infectious, and his genuine desire to make my aunt’s birthday special was something our entire family could feel. He did not just cook us a beautiful meal. He gave us his time, his stories, his knowledge and his heart—and that made the evening feel incredibly personal. Watching my aunt enjoy her 50th birthday surrounded by our family, with such a beautiful evening created especially for her, is something I will always remember. What could have been just another birthday dinner became a memory that will stay with all of us for a very long time. Thank you, Chef Dalip, for putting so much of yourself into our evening and for making my aunt feel so incredibly special. And thank you to everyone at Taj Bentota who helped make the celebration what it was. We came to celebrate a birthday, but we left with a story and a memory that we will carry with us for years. That, to me, is what exceptional hospitality truly means.

Taj Bentota has become one of our favourite places! We first visited last August and enjoyed it so much that we had to come back again. We had another amazing stay and honestly the staff are what make this hotel so special. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, especially with our kids, and they really made our holiday. The Palms restaurant was great and definitely exceeded our expectations. Sisil, Asiri, Damith and Sam were all amazing. They were always so friendly and funny and would go out of their way to look after us. We really enjoyed seeing and speaking to them every day and got to know them really well during our stay. A big mention to Chef Dilip who left no stone unturned to fulfil our dining experience. My husband requested different dishes that were not on the menu- and dilip and his team made sure it was made by the evening. The variety at the Palm restaurant was always vast with plenty of vegetarian food on offer for me who is very fussy. We were delightful that Chef dip won an award in for best chef while we were there at an event in Jaipur. While he was away, junior chefs Jasvir and Sharad looked after us very well, already knowing what we like and it was made fresh. I even asked for them to make my Indian tea slightly different and it was made so well: we very much appreciated all of them. They outdo themselves and are an asset to Taj Bentota. Thank you The Shack had the best atmosphere and environment to eat, out in the open. Manoj, the manager, was absolutely lovely. The food was amazing every time and my husband said the lobster was the best he has ever had! Manoj also organised a really nice dinner for our family one evening which we appreciated so much. He was brilliant with our kids as well and would even come and play volleyball with them. Such a genuinely kind person and we loved getting to know him. Amila was also amazing with our whole family. He always had a smile on his face and would stop to talk to us and the kids. He told us about the annual staff cricket match and made sure we came along. Our son even ended up joining in and playing with the team, which was such a great experience for him! Amila also played volleyball with the kids most days and was always so kind to them. We absolutely loved him! Kannangara was another person who really went above and beyond for us. One day there wasn’t any coconut water available and he actually went out of his way to find some for our kids. It was such a small thing but really showed how much he cared. We also had some really nice conversations with him throughout our stay. Sampath by the pool was brilliant too. He was always there to help us with the sunbeds and we had some great chats with him. He was so welcoming from the start. One day he even showed us a water tornado out at sea which we all thought was really cool! We also have to mention the whole gym and sports team because they were fantastic with the children. They played volleyball with them pretty much every day, always made them laugh and made such an effort to include them. One of our son’s favourite memories was getting to play in the staff cricket match with them. They welcomed him straight into the team and made the whole experience so much fun for him. We especially got to know Janaka and Neraushan, who were both amazing, and also want to thank Thranidu, Kavith, Meneke, Savith and Dineth. The whole team were so friendly and great with our family. There is so much we love about Taj Bentota – the location, the food, the activities and the hotel itself – but for us it’s definitely the people that make us want to come back. So many of the staff remembered us, took time to speak to us and made such an effort with the children. By the end of the holiday it really felt like we knew everyone rather than just being guests at a hotel. Thank you to everyone at Taj Bentota for another amazing holiday. We loved coming back and made even more great memories this time. Hopefully we’ll be back again soon!

I guess words will never be enough to justify the feeling. The hospitality 100/10 ya 100 on 10 it's not a mistake Food 10/10 - a special thanks to Chef Dalip - head chef of Indian cuisine. He is always on his toes to serve you the best. My POV is he's a good chef not because of his skills but because of his good heart. Staff 100/10 Hygiene 10/10 Personal touch 10/10 They value your time, your vacation and your choices. All in all I'm sad for leaving. I recommend you this for sure.
