Barceló Coconut Island Phuket

This was our second visit to Barceló Coconut Island, and somehow it was even better than the first! The wonderful hospitality began before we even arrived, with clear and helpful communication about our booking and transfers. From the moment we reached the island, we received such a warm welcome. The staff genuinely went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, happy and well looked after throughout our entire stay. There have been so many fantastic improvements since our last visit, including the beautifully refurbished rooms and the addition of Laku Beach Club and Noku Bar. Despite all the changes, it was lovely to see so many of the friendly faces we remembered - still smiling, attentive and ready to help with anything we needed. We certainly never had the chance to go thirsty, as someone always seemed to appear just as we finished our drinks! I treated myself to several excellent massages at the day spa, and the therapists were incredibly skilled. Hot tip: pay a little extra for the 90 minute massage - you absolutely won’t regret it! The food was plentiful and consistently good, with lots of variety and themed evenings including Mexican, seafood and BBQ nights. Staff and management regularly checked in with us to make sure we were enjoying our stay. A big thank you to Augustin for the complimentary meals at Laku Beach Club, which were lovely, and also for our room upgrade. Being able to sit in the jacuzzi and cool down in the evenings before dinner was such a treat. As always, Lenji and Twinkle kept us thoroughly entertained and dancing well into the evenings. 💃🏻 The gym was clean, modern and well equipped, and the complimentary fruit bowl was a thoughtful touch. I do have a couple of suggestions that could make the resort even better. I personally saw several people trip and fall near the ramp at the Kabang Bar, which appears to have limited edge definition. Reflective edging or, ideally, a balustrade or handrail could make this area much safer. I also suggested to management that misting systems would be fantastic in the main dining and Kabang Bar areas. They are used very successfully in tropical venues and homes throughout Australia and would make these spaces much cooler and more comfortable for guests. These are only small suggestions following an otherwise wonderful stay. Without a doubt, we will be back next year to do it all again, this time with our whole family!

Leaving Barceló Coconut Island Phuket is genuinely the hardest part of our trip. The resort itself is an absolute dream—nestled away on its own tranquil island, it offers a stunning, luxury escape that exceeded every single expectation. We originally stayed in a lovely Jacuzzi room that had everything we needed, but halfway through, our air conditioning ran into an issue that couldn't be fixed right away. The reception team handled it brilliantly, demonstrating unmatched kindness and efficiency by quickly moving us into an even more incredible room. Combined with fantastic daily breakfasts and the absolute nicest, warmest team of people in the world, this resort went above and beyond. We are completely gutted to leave, endlessly grateful to the staff, and already counting down the days until we return!

Stayed here for 2 weeks couldn’t fault it, lovely spacious clean rooms, staff are absolutely amazing, very friendly and always happy to help with your request, nice location private beach and regular complimentary taxi boats for if you want to leave the Islands. Would definitely stay here again.

The atmosphere was lovely and the location was fantastic, just five minutes from the shore to the island. The rooms were beautiful and offered great value for money. The food was incredible and the service was excellent. The amenities were decent and we even had a pool to ourselves that was always spotless and cleaned on demand whenever leaves fell in.

Overall experience was second to none. The hotel has a 24 hour water taxi so you can go to mainland phuket whenever you want. Stayed in a villa with private pool which the kids enjoyed immensely. The villa was massive for somewhere that ‘fits 4 people’. Food was absolutely yummy! Special mention to Bert, Con and Mau who served us at Laku restaurant, who went above and beyond in making sure we were comfortable. Highly recommend!!!
