Hotel was excellent and undergoing refurb to the beach club whilst we were there (opened on our last day). The 2 bed grand sea view villa was amazing - loads of space for a family of 4 (2 teens/tweens) and private pool fab and lovely views. Well worth the extra if you want some space to chill when the weather is wet! Pools nice, water slides and added bonus. Not enough loungers but with beach club now open would expect that to ease. Snorkelling not possible as visibility poor (tidal and silty at times), but free SUP and Kayaks offset that with fun on the water times! Staff amazing - they couldn’t do more to be friendly and helpful 👏 Only grumble is the food. We were B&B and the food was mega expensive (5 + times the price of local tourist spot restaurants, and 10 x price of local places) and was ok, but not amazing. Think luke warm food and took a while to arrive. Beware paying for gala evenings - cost c£150 for a family of 4 for a BBQ buffet, in which none of the food came from a BBQ - just standard buffet fare for a premium price (twice that of a normal evenings buffet, which is still over priced). Try Cocohut just up the road into the village - amazing family run little shack, but good amazing and ate like kings for less than £25. Or Laem Hin seafood at the mainland pier (obvs seafood focus) or TNR in the Laem Hin village (on the corner just past 7-Eleven if you walk away from the Pier - 4 of us ate and drank there for £10 after recommendation from our taxi driver!) Other than the food being a bit meh for the quality of the hotel, it’s an amazing hotel and would defo recommend if you want a quieter spot but still easy access to markets etc In the evening (just use Bolt for taxis).

The hotel has a lovely, peaceful atmosphere, and it wasn't too crowded, making it feel very private and relaxing. We would definitely recommend it.

Am busy investigative journalist/PR, so careful to be fair. The place has some lovely natural features and the marketing material is convincing. BUT it is NOT 5*, maybe 3.5.,overpriced. Better for less can be had e.g. In Maldives?Barbados. Lovely staff do utmost to please but it doesn't compensate for deficiencies, of which there are many. Major insight from candid comments of key staff include "Our owners are milking it for max profitability. but not competent with routine/planned maintenance, are mostly just reactive and take safety risks." Another said "I could say lots but just: well it's like Fawlty Towers. FOOD: overpriced overall, despite excellent breakfast choice/quality. At times chef incompetency astounding: e.g. uncooked/hard pasta, potatoes not cooked through, seafood to dropped below legal temperatures. The tendency to overly kowtow to a particular group with specific dietary demands and pose around arrogantly/ not mix with others was noted and not appreciated by many. BEACH. Unfortunately after paddle on sand for just 10m slime underfoot (manager stated "from decaying Mangroves mixed with mud) , made swimming unpleasant in the murky shallows. I won't nit pick further, except to say I've no doubt more can be had for less elsewhere
