Our experience at Concorde Marco Polo fell far short of what we expected from a hotel of this category. On the first night, the problem was the intense noise coming from the machinery room. It was impossible to sleep properly and, after hours of trying to rest, we finally managed to fall asleep almost at 4 a.m. The hotel eventually moved us to another room. On the second night, in the new room, we found a cockroach. We had to contact the hotel again and were moved to another room. Because of the whole situation, we only managed to go to sleep after 6 a.m. In the third room, the situation became even more concerning: we found what appeared to be bed bugs before we had even gone to sleep. Once again, we had to pack our belongings and move to another room. Finally, we were placed in a fourth room, where we remained until the end of our stay. However, on the penultimate day, we found another cockroach next to the bed. In addition to the incidents in our rooms, we also found cockroaches in the bathroom area of the hotel reception. We also experienced repeated hygiene and service problems in the buffet restaurant. Dirty plates and glasses were constantly left among the clean tableware available for guests to use. Tables were often not properly cleared, cleaned or reset between guests during meal services. As a result, we frequently found ourselves without napkins or cutlery and, on several occasions, had to eat at tables that were still dirty and covered with food remains from previous guests. We have photos and videos documenting the different incidents and reported all of these problems to both the hotel and trivago. It is true that the hotel made some attempts at service recovery by offering us several complimentary services during our stay. We appreciated the staff's attitude and recognize that they tried to help. However, these gestures do not erase what happened or the impact it had on our holiday. This was not a minor inconvenience or a single cockroach found by chance. We experienced multiple consecutive problems, four different room situations, repeated pest incidents, hygiene issues in the restaurant, and two nights that were practically lost — one until almost 4 a.m. and another until after 6 a.m. What is most frustrating is that we chose and paid for a hotel of a high standard, only to spend a significant part of our stay dealing with problems that should not occur in a hotel of this category. For us, this experience did not come close to the standard we expected from Marco Polo and, unfortunately, based on our experience, we cannot recommend this hotel.

Our stay at Concorde Marco Polo was absolute magic! Everything was wonderful, but what truly made our experience unforgettable was the warm and welcoming team.
