El Mouradi Palace

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We’ve had such a lovely stay and honestly can’t praise the staff enough. Everyone has been incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout our holiday. We stayed in one of the updated rooms and it was beautiful — spacious, comfortable and definitely felt like a 5-star room. There was a huge variety of food every day, and the staff were so accommodating. I’m gluten-free and they went out of their way to make sure I had plenty of options, even making me a special gluten-free dessert, which was such a thoughtful touch. The bar staff were brilliant too and quickly remembered our preferred drinks, which made the service feel really personal. The entertainment team were fantastic. They made such an effort to include everyone, always stopped to chat and genuinely seemed to care that guests were having a good time. A particular mention has to go to Zouhour, who really made our holiday. She went above and beyond for us, was always so friendly and welcoming and made us feel incredibly well looked after. It’s people like her who turn a good holiday into one you’ll genuinely remember. A huge thank you to the whole team for making our stay so special. ❤️

The staff are great, really helpful and friendly. The old rooms are very comfortable, clean, air conditioned and serviced regularly. The new rooms are superb, more modern, but equally as clean and comfortable. The food is exquisite. Lots of choice and the quality is excellent. The restaurant staff are lovely. Really friendly and very attentive. The entertainment team are great fun! Always plenty to do during the day including aqua aerobics, table tennis, six plus high quality tennis courts, archery, darts competitions, kids club, private beach with free sun loungers and loads of shade, beach side bar & restaurant, chargeable jet ski, paragliders, and other water sports. The pool is large and spacious, clean and loads of lifeguards. Sun loungers are high quality, made of wood, not plastic and loads are decent, thick foam filled covers for extra comfort, all included. Plus waiter service from loungers and again loads of shade available on every sun bed. This is probably one of the best hotels in the region.

A good holiday, but a disappointing experience after returning home My husband and I stayed at El Mouradi Palace from 10 to 20 August. Overall, we enjoyed our holiday. The food was good, the room was comfortable, the animation was enjoyable, and we really liked the sea and the beach. The beach was kept clean, the spa services were also good, and the hotel grounds were well maintained. However, we were very disappointed when we arrived home and discovered that a pack of cigarettes was missing from our suitcase. We had bought these Tunisian cigarettes as a gift, and we are certain they were in our suitcase before our last day. We cannot know exactly when or by whom they were taken, but the cigarettes were missing when we unpacked at home. So, if you stay at this hotel, I recommend keeping a close eye on your belongings and checking your luggage carefully before leaving the hotel. Apart from this unpleasant incident, we had a good holiday overall.

Like a few other reviews on this hotel I would say that it is definitely not 5 star as it sells itself. Personally would say it is 3.5 star at best. Good points: Great location with a very nice beach and good amount of sunbeds (although quite a few broken). Pool area very nice with lots of hardwood loungers but not enough cushions for them which makes for an uncomfortable way to relax. Food: selection of food is limited but generally something to eat but mostly not too warm. Biggest bug bearer for myself and good lady was large queues for everything. By the time you get everything you want, half of the food is freezing. There is no drink station in the restaurant and have to chase down one of the staff to get something. We found the food at the beach bar was better and warmer for lunch. Staff: Some of the staff here are lovely. Always smiling and saying hello, however some of the staff are dreadful. Pool bar staff see you as an inconvenience if you ask for a drink. Reception staff rude and unprofessional. Will be dealing with you and start dealing with someone else at the same time. Had to challenge them on that a few times. Rooms: Nice big room but had a few issues. No fridge (general comment on plenty of reviews on this site), light hanging off wall, patio door didn't close/lock properly which I reported a few times but wasn't fixed. Obviously guest safety and security is not a concern of theirs. I asked for an iron and ironing board 5 times. Was passed from reception to housekeeping and back. Now back in UK for 5 days and still waiting on it. I live in hope. I am sure there are a lot better hotels than this in the area to visit but to be honest we didn't pay a lot of money for the trip so not too heartbroken. Cue the generic response from the hotel!!

Very disappointing experience for a hotel advertised as 5-star. In our opinion, this hotel is nowhere near 5-star standard — more like 2–3 stars at best. Please do not be misled by the pictures. There is very little atmosphere or comfort, and as European guests, we did not feel particularly welcomed or well looked after. The service has been poor and chaotic, with extremely long waits at the restaurant. Cleanliness is also a major concern, and the hotel feels poorly maintained. When we raised our complaints, the response from staff was slow and unhelpful. Overall, this hotel is far below the 5-star standard advertised by Thomas Cook. A very disappointing experience and definitely not what we expected from our holiday.
