We visited in May, renovation work was ongoing and it was off season. We returned in August and wow has this hotel stepped it up. I was involved in the hospitality industry primarily as a chef for nearly 20 years, so standards matter to me. Remember that when you read this review. Also remember this is Tunisia, star ratings and practices are Tunisian. Security - good security at the gates, entrance and rear of the hotel. All 24hour. Reception - multi lingual and happy to help whatever the request. Money change service and ATM in reception. Air conditioned, spacious, clean with jewellry and perfume on sale and the thalasso lady who will explain avaliable treatments. Bar area - well staffed, clean and waiters who are attentive, friendly and efficient. Restaurant - Amazing selection at all mealtimes no matter your nationality. Fresh cooking stations at all mealtimes. Good temperature controls with the hot plates and salad bars. Good hygiene practices. Food well seasoned. Canapes, fresh made sushi and outstanding selection of sweets. Large dining area, well staffed and kept clean. Rooms - amazing air con ( remember to make sure balcony door us properly shut for it to work) Very comfortable beds and pillows, beds made up daily and changed twice in the week, fresh towels daily * sometimes done seperately from room clean. Plenty wardrobe space and hangers. Tv with some englush channels. Seperate toilet room and walk in shower room * some of the rooms not yet renovated have baths. Always hot water for showering. Good black out curtains. We had a really good fridge but you may need to ask for one. Hairdryer and toiletries supplied. As the hotel is all inc you will need to bring your own travel kettle if you want tea or coffee in the room. Unfortunately you can see where guests have carried teas coffees or drinks to thier rooms and spilled them on the carpets in the hallway. This doesnt look good for the hotel but has clearly been caused by guests.Ample sockets in rooms. Table, chairs and drying line on balcony. Room service and laundry avaliable at a cost. Pool area - kids pool with slides, large pool with sloping shallow to deep. Easily accesable stairs. Pool bar ( only open peak season but drinks are still served at poolside offpeak) Towels with a returnable 20 TND charge that can be changed as often as you want. Lifeguards. Free loungers, mattresses, tables and umbrellas. Some areas of the pool need upgraded but there is currently a renovation programme so swimsocks or flipflops are advisable. Beach - free beds, mattresses and umbrellas, life guards and beach activities. Beach bar serves decent food and drink during peak season. Snacks avaliable most of the day in various areas. Shop onsite Inside Disco, drinks are chargeable here. Offpeak this is where the entertainment is for weather reasons, you can take your all inc drinks in with you but waiter service is chargeable. Cafe also onsite Entertainment is varied and decent. Animation team wont harrass you but will invite you to take part in yoga, aqua aerobics, archery, boules, dancing, darts, water polo and there is a kids club. Tips are welcomed and the staff make sure thier gratitude for tips is rewarded but even without tipping the service from staff is great. Piccaso offers a henna tattoo and bracelets stall at poolside and The Captain arranges various trips. Yes, you will get them cheaper if you source them yourself, but you will have to pay your own transport and hope they are avalable on the day you go looking, you will have to barter your own prices and check insurances, its easier to pay a few more dinar to the captain Thallaso and Spa - definitely worth a visit, relaxing, great value and qualified staff. 70 TND (£18) for lymphatic drainage !! This is not an expensive hotel so dont expect Harrods for Tesco prices but for what you do get its great value for money. If you want upgrades they are avaliable at a cost. Treat the staff with respect and they will return it tenfold. I couldnt believe some of the unrealistic and unreasonable complaints I heard from people, who then bragged how little they paid. I cant wait to return.
I’m just coming to the end of my 10-day stay at this hotel. I was a little worried about coming here because I had read a lot of negative reviews. However, now that I’ve experienced it myself, I can honestly say that I had a very enjoyable stay. You have to remember that five stars here are not quite the same as five stars in Europe, but if you keep that in mind, I think you’ll be very happy with your stay. The food was good, with a wide variety of options available at several different restaurants and food points, so you’ll definitely never go hungry. We were given a renovated room, although we also paid extra for a Superior room, so I’m not sure if the renovated rooms are part of the standard category. The staff were friendly and helpful, although I have to say that tips seem to be very important to them. The swimming pool is great and the beach is absolutely beautiful. I especially recommend trying the water sports available on the beach — they’re definitely worth it! The entertainment and animation team were also very good. You can really see that they make an effort to ensure guests have a good time and enjoy their stay. Overall, I really recommend this hotel. I had a great time and I’m leaving with very positive memories.
My experience at El Mouradi Hotel was absolutely terrible. Unfortunately, the staff were very rude and the level of service was extremely poor. The food was also disappointing, and I found many of the waiters to be unkind and unwelcoming. The reception staff were particularly unpleasant—they rarely greeted guests or even smiled. I also felt that there was a noticeable difference in the way some staff treated Asian guests compared with white guests. I personally witnessed much warmer and more respectful behavior toward white guests, which made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Overall, I had an amazing time in Tunisia and truly enjoyed the country, but unfortunately, my experience with the hotel staff was the only major disappointment of my trip.
The stuff was amazing. Some things were a little dirty, but overall an amazing experience with great people. Amazing animators, amazing waitresses and the best guy on the archery.
To be honest, this is not 5 star hotel. No late breakfast or late snack as mentioned. Not enough staff so not quality service. Too many trainers instead of experienced staff against high season. They argue with eacj other all the time. Buffet is so poor, same meals everyday. No alchol instead of beer and vine in pool and beach bars. And they can easily say that they are ran out already! Still nice beach and pool, especially if you travel with kids. Clean rooms and all other areas. If you are ready for max 3 star service, good place to come but do not expect too much hence the price.
