TUI BLUE Scheherazade

The best hotel in Sousse, Tunisia. The hotel is smart, clean, modern with an authentic North African style. It has two lovely pools, one near the private beach and snack bar, where the activities took place. The other a beautiful courtyard and quiet pool ideal for a good swim and relaxing. The hotel is styled very nicely with some North African touches. The food is excellent with plenty of choice for all. The cullinarium was a lovely treat to. The hotel entertainment was the best of any hotel we have ever visited. The icing on the cake though are the hotels staff. From the warm welcome from the reception team and reps, who always went out of their way to meet your every need. The fun recreational team, always fun but never pushy 🙏 The reps to help with excursions and things to do 👍 awesome 👏👏 The friendliest management team of any hotel we have ever visited. Thank you 😊 Our room cleaner ❤️ and smiling hotel cleaners keeping the hotel spotless and smelling lovely. Our waiters unbelievably helpful friendly and attentive, who genuinely cared for us guests and made us feel like friends a big thank you ❤️👏👏🙏 The kitchen crew who popped out loads with hellos and smiles. The bar tenders that made sure you were never without a drink or snack 😊👍👏🙏 But our biggest thanks goes to Baha the lifeguard/pool man at the quiet courtyard pool. As soon as he saw you, out came sun beds, mattresses, and a parasol. He warked sooo hard all by his self and all day making sure you were shaded unless you wanted full sun. When the sun moved he was there moving the parasol. We both quickly became quite the friends with Baha, a superb young, caring fella. A credit to the Scherezade and Tunisia. We would say to Tui that this hotel and it's stunning warm and friendly staff, truly warrent some reward for promoting Tui and Tunisia to a higher standard than most. This was our first time visiting Tunisia, and after doing lots of research online and in Facebook groups, we finally decided on the TUI BLUE Scheherazade. ​After a 30-minute TUI coach ride, we were the first to be dropped off. We were greeted by a porter who grabbed our luggage and ushered us into the hotel reception area. Once we spoke to reception, they explained that we needed to wait for our room to be ready, gave us an iced tea, and asked us to sit and wait. ​An hour or so passed, and my wife went to ask how much longer the wait would be. The reception lady said she was unsure and asked how long we had been sitting around. When we explained that's what we had been asked to do, she looked really embarrassed and explained that we had been forgotten about. She then gave us our wristbands and showed us around the lobby and bar area. ​Our room was ready about 45 minutes (and two beers) later, and we were keen to go and explore our swim-up room. We had pre-chosen room 502 weeks in advance for an additional cost of €10 per night. ​Upon entering, we found the room to be exactly what our research suggested—on the smaller side and basic, with the swim-up pool getting about half a day of sunshine. However, the sea view was stunning—far better in real life than we had imagined. The pool water temperature was also perfect for cooling off in the 35-degree heat. ​The room did have a slight damp smell to it; not enough to complain about, but present throughout the holiday. Also, the toilet flush button broke, and we could clearly see where it had been "bodged" and repaired countless times prior. The bathroom door made a colossal bang from the hinges when closed more than halfway. One final nitpick was that the curtains didn't block the beaming early morning sun because they are six inches short of the floor, allowing light to flood in and illuminate the entire room. ​Over the week, the swim-up room was perfect for us with its early morning sun. Sunrise was at 5:40 am, though the sun doesn't clear the palm trees in front of the room until around 7:30 to 8:00 am. The pool heats up quickly and is ideal for a refreshing dip. The pool is shared with two other rooms, but we had no issues with our neighbors; in fact, we got along really well with the couple next door. By 12:30 pm most days, we headed over for lunch before moving to the beach area to soak up more sunshine. ​We found the beach area to be spotless, with fantastic staff keeping us well-hydrated with whatever we asked for. Security guards were stationed at all entrances and exits, making us feel completely safe and secure at all times. The sunbeds were reasonably comfortable, and there were more than enough to go around. ​The food across the hotel was cooked to a very high standard. They catered to virtually every requirement, and we never went without. Our only minor nitpick was that right at opening times (12:30 pm and 7:00 pm), the buffet area was complete pandemonium—it felt like you were constantly in someone’s way or they were in yours, making it difficult to properly browse all the amazing dishes on offer. We skipped breakfast a few times simply because we missed a proper full English breakfast with bacon, though that is certainly no fault of the hotel. We also ate at the snack bar one afternoon; the meals were well-cooked and delicious, though it gets very busy, which is why we didn't visit more often. Lastly, the Culinarium was phenomenal from start to finish—we were truly wined and dined. I had the lamb shank and was amazed by the portion size. ​The evening entertainment was great most nights. We can't speak for the daytime activities since we preferred relaxing by our private pool, but we did spot the daily morning water polo and water yoga sessions keeping guests entertained. ​To summarize, we had a fantastic 7-night stay despite a few little annoyances. The staff work very hard throughout the hotel and really do go above and beyond to make sure you are looked after. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all. ​Staff: 10 / 10 ​Rooms: 6 / 10 ​Swim-up pool: 8 / 10 ​Food: 8 / 10 ​Entertainment: 8 / 10 ​Value for money: 9 / 10 ​Would we return? For us personally, no—but that's just our outlook on life. However, we totally understand why so many loyal holidaymakers return year after year.

Great place to do as much or as little as you like Great food and drink, first class service. Bilel and the Lifeguard at the quiet pool are first class, quickly knowing what you drink and where you prefer your sunbed to be positioned. The restaurant offers a huge range of food every mealtime, all is fresh and well made. Great place to visit,highly recommended.

Back again after three years and still an amazing holiday. The staff were as welcoming as ever and some remembered us from three years previous (Said in the restaurant is amazing) which made our holiday more special. They work so so hard and always friendly and smiling throughout the hotel. Never had a problem getting a sunbed and the pool was great in the extremely hot weather this year. Would be back in a heartbeat when we want an all inclusive relaxed holiday. Don’t know everyone’s name but you are all amazing. Thank you to everyone x

Our first holiday as a husband and wife since 2012... Well… what can we say about our stay at TUI BLUE Scheherazade? Other than the fact that we’re now seriously considering whether we can somehow smuggle the entire hotel and its staff home with us! 😂 From the moment we arrived, the staff were absolutely fantastic. Friendly, attentive, helpful and always willing to go the extra mile. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and the service at the bars and around the pool was genuinely faultless. 🍹 The food was brilliant too — plenty of choice throughout the day, with more than enough food and drink to keep even the hungriest of holidaymakers happy! And yes… we definitely made the most of the all-inclusive part! Now time to try and lose the holiday pounds!😂 The whole hotel was spotlessly clean, the beach was always tidy, and the lifeguards were consistently on hand and the guys down at the beach who were willing to open the gym at 6am 😁 Our housekeeper was tremendous throughout and the little extra touches of rose petals, balloons and messages was an extra special touch! And we have to give a huge shout-out to the animation team (especially Luca & Aziz). They were absolutely amazing! Always energetic, friendly and engaging, with an abundance of activities going on. Whether you wanted to join in or simply sit back and watch the madness unfold, there was always something happening. 😂 Overall, we honestly couldn't fault our stay. The combination of the staff, food, cleanliness, facilities, beach, entertainment and atmosphere made this such a fantastic holiday. And finally, a massive thank you to everyone in this group. Before booking, we read through so many of your recommendations, tips and experiences, and they genuinely helped us choose what turned out to be an amazing hotel. So thank you! ❤️ We came looking for a great holiday… and instead we've found somewhere we'd happily come back to.
