Hotel Ramada Resort Lara

Avoid! A very disappointing family holiday Unfortunately, this has been one of the worst holidays we have experienced as a family. We always try to make the best of our holidays when things go wrong, but there were several incidents that made it extremely difficult for us to relax and enjoy our stay. We had to move rooms during our holiday due to extremely loud and inappropriate noise coming from the room next door. As we were travelling with two children, this made us very uncomfortable. Having to pack up all of our suitcases and belongings, move rooms and then unpack again caused unnecessary stress and disruption. The most concerning experience happened at the water slides, where a woman threatened to punch my husband following an incident involving her son pushing in. The lifeguards witnessed what happened, but we felt that nothing was done to deal with the situation or ensure our family’s safety. We were shocked that someone could threaten violence in front of our family without what we felt was an appropriate response. I also have serious concerns about the comments made towards my five-year-old autistic daughter because she uses a pram. We received multiple remarks suggesting that she was “too big” to be in one. My daughter uses the pram because of her additional needs, and these repeated comments made us feel uncomfortable, judged and upset. We felt there was a real lack of understanding and sensitivity towards her disability. We came away hoping for a relaxing and enjoyable family holiday, but sadly this was not the experience we had. We tried our best to make the most of our time away, but we were left feeling disappointed and stressed. Based on our personal experience, we unfortunately would not choose to return.

9 night stay in a family room. 3 adults, 3 children (9,9,5). Room was a good size - one double room, one twin room and a spacious living room. As we were 6 the sofa was a bed and there was a camp bed added. To be honest they’d be better making the living room smaller and the bedrooms bigger as to avoid taking up the living space. If you were 4 this would be a great size room. Food. The food was tasty, some days were repetitive as it similar for tea as it had been for lunch. A good choice at the buffet. We ate at the Turkish and Asian al a carte restaurants - Asian was our favourite, beautiful food and very efficient service. Turkish was good but felt a little bit more chaotic. We also ate out at the Terrace Steakhouse - beautiful food! One restaurant annoyance we did experience daily as a group of 6, there are plenty of large tables however getting them is harder than you think when couples and families of 4 are choosing to sit on tables for 6-8 people. We often had to sit separate or move tables around. Cleanliness. Constant stream of cleaning throughout the day round the pool and the rooms we always kept clean. Pool/sunbeds. It’s busy and a lot of sunbeds are taken early. On many occasions more were brought out when requested. We have noticed as our holiday has gone on it has got quieter. We spent a lot of our time based at the “indoor pool” (I say it like that because the roof was open so didn’t feel indoor). Heading over to the splash park and other pool down by the beach - we went once, lasted around 40 minutes it was loud and constant, we moved to the beach. Lovely set up, the sea was too rough for the kids though so we just splashed. Great wooden walkway all the way from the entrance to the pier. Entertainment. We didn’t attend anything. This was our negative, having the kids disco and shows at the beach just didn’t work for us as a family. The actual walk is lovely and not too bad on a night when the heat isn’t as bad. We used the shuttle when we went during the day, going was fine. Coming home people were barging my kids out of the way to get on, even though we’d been waiting well before them. We’ve had a great holiday. However, we wouldn’t stay here again and that’s purely because it didn’t work for us and what we like from a holiday.

We had a very good experience during our first stay at the Ramada from the moment we arrived, the reception staff were welcoming, friendly and approachable. The lobby area is very spacious, with plenty of comfortable seating. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was excellent. Our room was cleaned every day, and I would especially like to mention Besna, who was always friendly, smiling and did a great job looking after the room. The restaurant was another highlight. The staff were very friendly and attentive, always coming to the table to serve drinks. The restaurant manager was also very nice, friendly and helpful. The breakfast, lunch, snack bar and dinner all offered a fantastic variety, with different choices every day. The food presentation and displays were also very well done. The pool area is very spacious, and the children’s pool was lovely. We also enjoyed the spa, and the hairdresser provided a good service. Another great advantage is that guests have access to Wyndham Lara next door, which gives you even more facilities to enjoy. At the same time, the Ramada offers a more peaceful and quiet atmosphere. Overall, this was our first stay at Ramada and it was a very good experience. Friendly staff, excellent cleanliness, great food variety and plenty of facilities. I would definitely consider staying again.

This was the 3rd year my daughter and I spent our summer holiday at the Ramada Lara - this time we took 6 friends with us. We stayed for 14 nights. The hotel is immaculate. Staff are friendly and attentive, can not do enough for you. The food is excellent (both my daughter and I are very fussy eaters), you will never go hungry! Today I booked again!! August 2027 me, my daughter and her best friend and her gran will be coming. I cannot wait!! Only negative I would share is that over the 3 years we have been coming there has been a decline in the daily pool (this summer the entertainment team had zero enthusiasm!) and the evening entertainment at the beach has dipped significantly. But overall, I would 100% recommend this hotel. It is safe, secure, immaculate. See you again soon Ramada! :)

It’s our last day staying at the resort for 10 night with a blended family of 9 with 5 teenage boys aged between 12 and 23. I do highly recommend. We originally booked a room however the view was the power station and the generator was noisy so after 3 days we asked to change and was upgraded to family suite with no problems at all. Staff are all very friendly, Bar staff were especially friendly and joked with how much alcohol we all consumed ( definitely got our moneys worth) Entertainment was good, especially for little kiddies ( ours all grown up but a delight to watch the kids club working ever so hard to entertain them) We did morning gym every morning at 10:30am which was mixed palates and yoga. Aqua gym which was a good work out and fun. Water polo daily was fun. No entertainment team on a Sunday( well deserved day off!! ) Pools were great, we used them all( yes you have to wake up at silly o clock to reserve your beds- 6:30am and not a lot of beds (we hold our hands up and admit that we don’t actually use them until after breakfast and gym around 11am) Plenty of spare beds around beach pool up to around 11am. Walk to beach and beach pool is around 10 minutes, nice walk however watch the road, the crossing does not give you a lot of time to get across and the Turkish won’t wait! Free bus every 15 minutes if you don’t want to wait. If you like animals and wildlife you are in for a treat. Loads of kittens and they are very friendly. Hedgehogs, geckos, lizards and birds. Food is great, can’t complain at all, you can get food 24/7 in different areas of the hotel, plenty of choice ( although our teenagers chose to eat at McDonald which was a 5 minute walk from the hotel) Help your self to water and ice creams ect. Hotel very clean. Photo shoot was good, £100 for 15 printed photos and they send them to email. Turkish shave for the hubby was only £10 in the hotel. I won the bingo, got loads of freebies ( rubbish from gift shop but fun) Night entertainment was good, we chose to stay around main hotel for the entertainment after a few nights at beach entertainment, a lot cooler and less mosquitos ( take plenty of bite cream!) we tried all the usual stuff but still got bit. Great hotel! Would we return? No, only due to the older teenagers wanting entertainment after midnight, neatest safe clubs are an hour away. Plenty of shops in walking distance. 20 minutes away from the airport. Thank you to everyone at Ramada.
