Lago Hotel

Our recent holiday at the Lago Hotel in Side was absolutely fantastic, offering everything we could possibly need for a perfect family getaway. The food throughout our stay was lovely with plenty of variety, and our bedroom was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. However, it was the employees who truly made the trip extra special and memorable. The entertainment team brought incredible energy day and night, keeping both kids and adults fully engaged. A special shoutout goes to Mr. Socks, who was universally amazing. My son adored him; he has a wonderful, infectious personality, is always smiling, and consistently went out of his way to make sure everyone was having a great time. The skate team—particularly Seyit and Sahin—were also brilliant. They were always visible throughout the day, initiating friendly conversations and remaining exceptionally attentive to guests. Every single member of staff we interacted with is a credit to the hotel, and their warm hospitality is the main reason we would gladly return.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, modern, and quite large. The rooms are cleaned regularly and very well maintained. The food is excellent, especially the desserts, which are really delicious. My only complaints are about the pools. It is always very crowded and it is almost impossible to find a free spot. I think this should be better organized and managed somehow. Also, the children’s playground is located in a very poor spot. There is almost no fresh air in that area, and I don’t think it is suitable for children to be placed there. A special compliment for the Cat House — bravo for this wonderful idea! Overall, it is an excellent hotel and we had a very pleasant stay.

You create such a great atmosphere around the hotel and make every day of the holiday more enjoyable and memorable. You can really see how much effort and heart you put into your work. I usually don’t leave reviews, but unfortunately, in this case, I cannot just overlook our experience. There were some positive aspects. The rooms are decent, and the staff service is generally good — the waiters, cooks, and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. When it comes to drinks and cocktails, however, the quality at the outdoor bars is quite poor, especially when it comes to alcoholic drinks. If you want a properly made cocktail, the only place to go is the bar inside the hotel. For children, there is a separate restaurant area where they can watch cartoons while eating, which is actually a very nice idea. The hotel also has a kids’ club where you can leave your child for a while and enjoy some time at the resort. Unfortunately, the negative aspects were much more serious: 1. A terrible first night because of the generator. During our first night, the hotel generator was running. From our balcony, the noise was over 90–95 decibels, and when I measured it near the generator, it was over 105 decibels. This extremely loud noise lasted from around 2:00 AM until 7:30 AM. We were travelling with our 6-year-old child, so you can imagine what kind of sleepless night we had. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel. 2. A safety issue with the children’s slides. Our child went to use the slides and got a wooden splinter stuck in their skin from the wooden railing while getting ready to go down. The splinter was over 2 cm long. What was even more disappointing was that the incident was not properly reported to management, and no action was taken until we personally raised the issue with management and guest relations. Even the doctor initially refused to provide first aid until we brought the child’s passport and insurance documents. In my opinion, when a child is injured on hotel property, the priority should be immediate medical assistance and ensuring the area is safe. 3. Very limited access to the children’s slides. Children under 10 are only allowed to use the slightly larger slides (the ones bigger than the baby slides) between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM — just one hour per day. For a family resort, this is a very strange and disappointing restriction. Unfortunately, this was our first and last stay at this hotel. The restrictions for children, combined with the safety issues and the way our child’s injury was handled, left us extremely disappointed. If you have a health or safety issue during your stay, it seems that you can end up facing unnecessary complications instead of receiving immediate help. There are some good things about this hotel, but for us, the negative experiences outweighed them. We would not return and cannot recommend this hotel to families with young children.
