Sunis Kumkoy Beach Resort and Spa

Unfortunately, there aren't many positives to highlight: a beautiful, exotic courtyard with pleasant pools and a wonderful sea entry—very gradual with fine sand. The resort and its services are a disaster; I will limit myself to a few significant issues that are unacceptable for a highly-rated 5-star hotel with premium prices: lunch cannot be served in the indoor restaurant, so the only option—even in August with temperatures hitting 45°C—is to eat on the terrace; there are huge queues at the restaurant and especially at the poolside bar (the only daytime spot for an iced coffee or cocktail); the beach bar is very poor, offering a very limited selection of products and just a few chairs placed in direct sunlight with no shade whatsoever. The beach is poorly maintained—you have to clean your own sunbed and pick up trash from the sand in the morning; raking or leveling the sand is out of the question. The beachside terrace has extremely limited hours (12:00 PM to 4:00 PM), and you have to hurry—getting there before 3:00 PM is essential if you want fish or a hamburger, even though service runs until 4:00 PM. Consequently, there is no chance of enjoying an afternoon cocktail by the sea: the terrace (serving only beer and wine) closes at 4:00 PM, and the beach bar offers only draft beer, which sometimes isn't even cold enough. There aren't enough towels; often, there are no replacements available, meaning you have to wait until the next day. The air conditioning in the hotel's interior areas shuts off at midnight, making the atmosphere stifling and preventing you from enjoying the hotel's 24-hour bar; the staff (with few exceptions) were unexpectedly apathetic and uninterested, and the internet throughout the resort was a bad joke (!). The room was modest and dated but clean, the bathroom was tiny with a non-functional drain, the fridge ran at about 10 degrees, and the safe was broken. I’ll stop here, though I could point out many other unpleasant issues that effectively ruined my vacation. Please do your research carefully when choosing a resort so you can truly enjoy a successful holiday; I feel I made a huge mistake with this hotel—it was by far the worst resort I’ve stayed at during more than ten vacations I’ve spent in Turkey.

This was our 16th time in this hotel. We are always happy to come back here. The food is delicious. Hotel has a very big and clean area. The beach is awesome sandy and shallow. The animation team is friendly and not pushy at all. They have a great day/ evening program.

This is our 3rd time coming to Sunis. The combination of the facilities (pools, slides, beach etc), good food, very friendly staff, excellent animation team is the reason why we keep coming back. The animation team puts a lot of effort into the activities for all ages. From water activities, to music at the pool, to the mini-disco, to the shows in the evening, you can see how much effort and passion they put into it. Would recommend 10/10!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This has been one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, and the beach is stunning—clean, spacious, and incredibly relaxing. The staff deserve special recognition. Everyone we met was friendly, smiling, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. You always feel valued as a guest, and the service is consistently excellent. The food is another highlight. The selection is extensive, varied, and of a genuinely high standard. Every day, both at breakfast and dinner, talented chefs prepare many of the dishes fresh in front of the guests, which adds a wonderful touch and guarantees great quality. The atmosphere throughout the resort is peaceful and relaxing. The entertainment is professional and enjoyable, yet by 11:00 PM everything becomes wonderfully quiet—not only at this hotel but also at the neighbouring resorts. We truly appreciated being able to enjoy both great entertainment and a good night’s sleep. We are so happy we found this little gem and will definitely be back. Thank you to the entire team for making our 3-week stay so memorable!

The time spent in the hotel was fabulous. From accomodation to friendly stuff. The animation team was very friendly, entertaining and not pushy at all. The activities were very funny and engaging. Especially the one with the inflatable castle with obstacles. The music Arizone the poolbar was not disturbing and Nice. Teenage dart was good. I will definitely come back next year. 🤍🌸
