Nungwi Beach Resort by Turaco – Zanzibar

Turaco Nuingwi resort has direct access to Nungui Beach, and while the premise is not huge, it is planned nicely, with pathways and shops. Restaurant offers good range of food. Room is not huge but well appointed, clean and functional. The premise is lively but not noisy, and it is relaxing to hear waves on the beach. We enjoyed the weekend stay very much. Hotel offers various packages from room only to fully inclusive. We chose half board and found it good value for money.

We’ve just finished our absolutely wonderful stay at the Turaco Nungwi Resort. It truly feels like we had found a perfect corner of Zanzibar. Overall, this is a 10/10 experience for us! The good (which is almost everything): 1. The staff: the heart and soul of this resort. Every single person was incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely happy to help. Their warmth made our stay special. 2. The room: we had a room with an ocean view, and it was spectacular. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, guaranteeing a great night's sleep. 3. The food: both the breakfasts and the dinners were delicious. There was a great variety of fresh, tasty options every day. We looked forward to every meal. 4. The location & beach: location is perfect, right on a stunning stretch of Nungwi beach. It was fascinating to see the ocean in all its states. The full low tide is an incredible sight – it looks almost apocalyptic, with fishing boats resting on sand that was deep underwater just hours before. Even the short, dramatic rain showers were beautiful to watch. There were only two very small things that could be improved. 1. The sunbed race: this was our only real frustration. To get a sunbed on the beach, you have to get up around 7 AM. By then, most are already "reserved" with towels by guests who often don't show up for hours. It would be great if the hotel could manage this system a bit better. 2. A "Nice-to-Have" suggestion: while it's easy to get a taxi, a hotel-operated shuttle to Stone Town would be a fantastic addition for guests who want to explore. It's not essential, but it would be a very welcome service. Honestly, those are tiny details in what was an otherwise perfect vacation. We loved our time at Nungwi Turaco Resort. If you're looking for a beautiful location with amazing staff and fantastic food, book this hotel. Tamara and Aksana (room number 307) 😀

We are so happy and so pleased with everything! We had an absolutely lovely time at Turaco. Perfect location close to the beach and walking distance to the small city. The staff is so friendly and serviceminded! Don’t miss a good massage in the spa! Lipiana gave me the best massage I ever had (!) and I am a lady that have had many spa-treatments around the world! Good food with the variation you can expect. The gym is small but airconditioned and very good! We highly recommend this hotel and would not hestitate to come back! Oh I also must mention the entertainment. Lovely music from liveartists. In fact very high quality entertainment. We really enjoyed it.

A truly amazing experience. Facilities were excellent and staff were fabulous - friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. Amy issues are resolved immediately and we would definitely recommend to anyone. Hakuna matata

The welcome exceeded our expectations. Staff was very friendly and felt safe all around. Only downside was late check-out was not met due to high season.
