Royal Mandarin Hotel & Resort

We had the most wonderful stay at the Royal Mandarin hotel in Zanzibar. There are so many things to say about this fantastic place. I will start with the beach itself. The location, quality and natural beauty of the beach are all off the charts outstanding! The way that the tide changes giving you an experience at full tide and the most amazing sea Safari at low tide is exceptional! The hotel itself is very clean, tidy and efficient. The food was really really delicious! The Chef and the whole team are exceptional and it made a really positive difference to our whole experience! And of course last but not least, in fact the most important part of any wonderful Holiday is the quality of the team who work there. The Royal Mandarin hotel has an amazing team of people from the people who clean the rooms every day to the reception team, the guest relations people and people that service at breakfast lunch and dinner! They are all wonderful, professional and exceptional of what they do! And I would like to give a special shout out to Macdonald. His energy, enthusiasm and personal touch are all much much appreciated, thank you very much! And even though I haven’t got time to name everybody you were all wonderful! So all in all, it’s a wonderful place, I would highly recommend it, and we will be back for sure someday. All the best for the rest of the year and thank you for an amazing holiday, Matthew.

I stayed there for 5 nights , everything was amazing in this hotel , i had a great time there , the service, room, beach were all amazing , and the food there was so delicious with a different cuisine each day , the chef is so talented.

We had a great experience . The managers, Mr McDonald and the team treated us well. Very good cuisine though I’d advocate for Nigerian meals. Very quiet and serene atmosphere

I loved this place so much :) The activities were peak. I loved walking to visit the local school ( although it was quite long) and finding starfish and crabs. There were also so many other aqua and sport activities, and I enjoyed my stay. I also loved the food here. The food was amazing! I enjoyed tasting the variety! And the desserts were Soooo good!! Also the drinks were great too Staff hospitality was great also :). I would like to mention Abdul and McDonald for their help. They were great fun. Housing was great too. The beds are comfy and nice, there is air con and fan, and also good heated water. The dance shows were amazing too. They had a variety of shows that differed every day, and at the end they would bring everyone to dance together and I had such a great time. Honestly, this hotel was one of my favourites, and I loved it sm! Great hospitality, personal experiences and so many opportunities, I had such a great time here!! Written by poorvi

We spent six days at the Royal Mandarin with our family and left with nothing but good memories. The room was spotless — housekeeping was thorough every single day, and everything was well kept. The all-inclusive was genuinely good value, not the usual compromise. The buffet had real variety, so nobody got bored across six days, and the fresh seafood and local Zanzibari dishes were a highlight. The bar deserves a mention too: cocktails were well made and served with a smile. What made the difference, though, was the staff. Every single member of the team was friendly, attentive, and quick to accommodate the kids and any special requests we had. A special thank you to McDonald, who went out of his way to help us more than once and always with a smile — but really, the whole team was excellent. Honestly, nothing worth complaining about. If you're travelling with family and want a place where everything just works, this is it. We'd come back.
