TUI BLUE Bahari Zanzibar

All in all a very nice 5 Star Beach Resort for a worry-free Family vacation. Only the Food was maximum 4 Star level, the „italian“ Restaurant Andiamo even less.

Definitely not a 5-star experience. When we arrived we greeted with dirty refresher towels and a staff member who did not tell us anything about the activities or events at the hotel. At the Green and Grill, there were barely any waiters who seemed to work there. The waitress who we were eventually flagged down, was poorly dressed, had visible dirt on her uniform and walked away in the middle of my sentence when ordering. When the food arrived, it was old and tasted bad. On our first evening, there was a beach dinner. When we arrived, we had to wait to be seated as many of the staff members were busy/pre-occupied/frazzled. When we were seated, we were very far from the entertainment and couldn’t see anything. The food at this beach dinner was shocking. There was a selection of beef stew, bean stew, soup, and seafood curry with barely any seafood in it. There was a salad bar that looked like it hadn’t been replenished since it was first dished out. The serving spoons were dirty and the bread selection was all extremely stale. Definitely not what we expected at our first night at this 5-star resort. At breakfast, the same stale bread selection was there along with curdled yoghurt, oats that tasted as if there was dirt in it and scrambled eggs that you could’ve drank with a straw. On the fourth day of our stay, the cleaning service did not come to our room. At 17:00 that day I called reception to ask them to send the cleaning team, two cleaners arrived without any cleaning supplies. They cleaned our room quickly and using tissues instead of cleaning cloths and proper cleaning detergent. At the Asian restaurant, the food was visibly rotten and inedible. I reported all of this to the manager called Rajeev. He was apologetic and then arranged a private beach dinner for me and my family on our last night there. On this night, the food and service was immaculate. We had a large selection of crayfish and delicious steak. This was overall a very lovely experience. It shows me that good service and food does exist at Tui Blue, you just have to complain for 6 days until you actually receive the quality you expect. This place is cutting corners everywhere possible and the fact that the staff are unhappy, bored, inattentive and impolite tells you a lot about the management at Tui Blue. We will certainly not be returning.

We stayed at TUI Blue Bahari Zanzibar twice during our Tanzania trip — first for two nights after arriving from Germany, before heading to our safari on the mainland, and then again afterwards as a relaxing retreat following an incredible week of safari. This combination worked out perfectly for our family of four, with two kids. TUI Blue Bahari Zanzibar is not only a five-star luxury resort, but also truly a best-in-class service experience. We booked an all-inclusive package, and what impressed us most was the genuine friendliness and hospitality of every single staff member. Unlike many all-inclusive resorts, the experience here still feels very personal. You can choose from à la carte options, while attentive staff serve you drinks and food throughout the resort. The variety and quality of the food were outstanding and never felt repetitive. For our family, the resort was the perfect place to relax, recharge, and enjoy some quality time together. We also particularly appreciated the security on the beach, which meant we could enjoy the beachfront without being constantly approached by vendors. Throughout our stay, we felt completely safe and comfortable with our children. We highly recommend TUI Blue Bahari Zanzibar to anyone looking for a luxurious, relaxing, and family-friendly stay on Zanzibar. For us, it was the perfect retreat before and after our safari!
