Antigoni

We recently returned from our holiday at Cyprus. I’ve read various really negative reviews about Hotel Antigoni that seem a little harsh. It’s important to remember that this is a 3* hotel and providing you keep that in mind, you will have a great stay here. The staff are this hotel’s best asset, particularly the bar staff and the lovely guy making omelettes every morning (sorry I didn’t catch his name). Everyone greets you with a smile and we found the staff incredibly helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are slightly dated in terms of the furniture but extremely clean. The beds are very comfy and additional pillows can be requested from reception if required. The air conditioning was very effective. The food was slightly repetitive at lunch times but we always found something to eat. We chose to eat out in the evenings so I couldn’t comment on the food choices at night time. The pool was lovely and sunbeds were always available. There was an issue with a pool leak during our stay but it remained open for use so didn’t impact our holiday. My only criticism with the pool is that there are a few missing/cracked tiles on the bottom that need to be fixed. The location of this hotel is fantastic for accessing the main strip and beaches. You will have a great time here if you book expecting a 3* experience. For the price we paid, we had a lovely time here and would return back in a heartbeat.

Recently stayed for 10 nights and would stay again, if the price was right. Hotel does need a bit of TLC but the way it’s operated it might not get much. Although the hotel is run by the Hotel Brain group the hotel itself is still owned by the Tsokkos group and the HB group has a 5 year lease which means they may not want to spend money on refurbishment as they don’t own the property and the Tsokkos are renowned for not spending money on their hotels. My thoughts are Staff: All the staff are great, especially the guys on the bars who work very long hours but always smiling and up for a laugh. Pool: Great size although slightly cold, they had an issue with a leak when we were there but the guys worked hard to get it fixed, albeit having a few traffic cones in the pool was strange especially for new guests. Never had any problems getting a sunbed around the pool. Rooms: Basic but clean with a very large bed, only one pillow each so asked at reception for more and they were delivered by the cleaner as I was getting back to the room, excellent service. Food: We would usually go SC or B&B in Protaras. Breakfast was fine and you had a good choice so always got enough to do you, orange juice and coffee weren’t that great but tasted worse. Lunch: We only ate in the hotel every day or so and found it a bit repetitive although if you aren’t fussy then you can always get something to eat. Dinner: Never had dinner in the hotel as we like to eat out in the local restaurants, did look at what was on offer most nights but as with lunch it was a bit repetitive. The main issue was, for all meals, was the hot food wasn’t that hot, maybe a microwave would be useful for people to heat up their food. Drinks: Beer ok and the cocktails weren’t bad, never tried the wine although plenty were drinking it. Overall not a bad hotel, have stayed in worse. At the end of the day you get what you pay for so if you want 5 star service pay for a 5 star hotel.

I have just returned from here I would give a 5 star review only thing that stopped me is the hotel does need a good refurbishment very tired but everything else was amazing especially all the wonderful staff there you get well looked after big shout to all the bar staff would I go back definitely such good value for money even on the last day they gave us a room to get showered and did not charge a penny other hotels you pay well done to all of you we really enjoyed it

Lovely hotel. Staff were excellent, always helpful and cheerful. Food was the best l have had for all inclusive, so much choice. Swimming pool was a good size. Rooms were basic but cleaned everyday. Hotel was on the strip and near the beech. Service at the bar was really good for drinks. Great 3 star hotel. Well worth the money we payed.

The food was absolutely terrible, and the staff seemed completely uninterested in helping guests. I stayed for 7 days on an all-inclusive package, but the food was so bad that I often had to go into town to find somewhere decent to eat lunch. For an all-inclusive hotel, this is simply unacceptable. The only positives were the daily room cleaning and the availability of hot water 24/7. The hotel is old and clearly needs a major renovation. Overall, the experience was very disappointing, and I would not recommend this hotel.
