Bluesun Hotel Elaphusa

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Setting is lovely, right off the promenade and a short walk to town or beaches. Hotel is modern, clean, beautiful. Guest rooms are functional and comfortable. Excellent lighting, water pressure. And the included breakfast is fantastic.

Outstanding atmosphere, staff friendly, loved the daily aqua aerobics every day, great chill area around the pool. Great Gym. Fabulous location. Rooms spacious.

We enjoyed three nights at the Bluesun. Our room was cool and clean, the buffet styled food service was good and the pool and pool service was excellent.

From the outset, we were really looking forward to this holiday. The pool was the biggest in Bol, and the hotel had nice bar and restaurant facilities. Overall, we’re glad we stayed. But unfortunately, there were so many hidden costs and restrictions which then put a bad taste in our mouth and, at times, felt like utter exploitation. To use the bowling alley - €20 per person. Spa facilities - €25 per person (not for massages, just to enter the sauna & pool). Taxi to Supetar ferry port - €91 (€31 more than the going rate). An additional fee for using room service; extortionate laundry fees (€6 for a single T-shirt). It felt like, at every turn, there was a maximum attempt to exploit as much money from you as possible. On top of that, there were restrictions on top of what you’d already paid for. For example, the air conditioning was capped at 22 degrees, which really isn’t cool enough - so much so that I went to bed sweating. It felt like there were regular attempts to cut costs wherever possible. What had we actually paid for if we were going to be restricted like this? The catering for breakfast and dinner served some lovely dishes, but again, with the exception of breakfast, no drinks were included. I understand alcohol as we’re all halfboard, but it felt reasonable to provide water at the very least at no extra cost, as they did with breakfast. The ordering service for drinks each night at dinner was chaotic and tedious. But, just to be clear, the staff were hard-working and trying their best; the system established by management simply wasn’t fit for purpose. It meant you were waiting a crazy amount of time for those waiter to make their way around to your table. Every single night, I had to go on a frantic search for a waiter to serve me drinks. When I’m supposed to be relaxing on holiday, this is simply not good enough. I’d rather go and order the drinks myself at a bar - there were simply not enough waiters for the number of tables they were serving. While I did enjoy my stay in Bol and enjoyed my days around the hotel pool, I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again for the reasons I’ve laid out above.

Perfect food lots of variety, clean rooms every day and nice hospitality from the people working at the resort. I enjoyed a lot the morning fitness and aquarobics from the instructor. She was very friendly and every day a happy face. Good exercise to start the day.
