D-Resort Sibenik

An end of season experience, sadly, and disappointing in that there was no hotel boat to take hotel guests to the old town of Sibenik and the outdoor pool has been emptied. The staff are all good and rooms lovely with a spacious balcony but this was classed as a superior room. The dining room is delightful. Not an ideal hotel for families unless you have own transport.

We booked the presidential suite. Wow - that thing is huge - I probably got my 10,000 daily steps just moving around in the room. The presidential suit is on the the third floor with balconies on left, front and back. You get a very nice view of the Siebnik old town. Sitting in one place, you can enjoy the view in different lighting conditions. The presidential suite is amazing with the water views in all directions - almost as if on a ship traveling on the sea. The breakfast was overall decent but I wish they had a few more warm items for vegetarian people. The breakfast location is on the top floor with the same views we had from our room. Enjoying breakfast on the balcony with view of Siebnik and water views all around - very nice. Few misses with the room - some are easily fixable. The conditioner/soap bottles almost empty and pumps not very smooth. Shower drains not cleaned well - beginning to form a pool in the bathroom when taking a shower. Comforter was weird - provided for each person even on king bed - felt like you were camping and trying hard to snuggle it around you. Not fixable is the bad small sinks that they have - ended up splashing water all around. Inspite of the minor issues, this is sn amazing property to stay - very nice views, very well maintained grounds - excellent!

We had a very restful holiday at D Resort. It's location on a peninsula near Sibenik allows for stunning views across the bay. We enjoyed the feeling of isolation & did not mind having to take a taxi on a couple of occasions to visit the city. You can also walk along the marina to a small pizza restaurant or just along the access road is a local bus stop. The hotel can also organise the water taxi and boat trips. We admit that the location may not suit everyone, as some people may want the city to be more accessible, but we liked the quiet. The staff were excellent. So kind & helpful. We would like to give a special mention to Matilda (breakfast), Bilijana (served us at upper pool cafe) & Toni (our evening waiter) as they looked after us so we'll. Thank you. Our room was spacious, with a comfy bed & excellent shower. We didn't have the best view the hotel had to offer, but we could still see the city & watch the boats coming too & fro. Apart from the lower pool (because of the plentiful seagulls), the hotel was very clean. We enjoyed every meal we ate there & felt we got value for money.

The D-Resort Šibenik in Croatia is a beautiful property, but while it is rated as a four-star hotel, the room experience did not live up to that standard. Our entire family stayed here to attend my son and his fiancée's wedding, and while the hotel grounds are beautiful and the wedding itself went off without a hitch—which was our main objective—the resort fell short in critical areas. The water views throughout the property were so amazing, and the service for breakfast and lunch was absolutely perfect. The breakfast buffet, bar service, and lunch options themselves were all worth five stars, but the cleaning and maintenance of the rooms were terrible. This wasn't isolated to just my room; our family occupied four different rooms and every single one had problems. In my room, the shower water flooded all over the floor no matter how we tilted the shower head, and water for the bathtub was practically nonexistent. On top of that, the shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel bottles were completely empty. When I asked for a refill, the housekeeper—whom I actually found watching TV on her phone in the supply room—refused to fill them. She came to our room and then stormed out. Management later told me they only fill the bottles a tiny amount, just enough for the stay, which is ridiculous. My floors were also never vacuumed or swept. My daughter and others faced much of the same cleaning issues, and my other son and his girlfriend noted that the spa accommodations for their massages were less than adequate. It is unacceptable to have so many rooms with these kinds of issues. I wrote a letter to management expressing these concerns, but I believe it fell on deaf ears. They desperately need to hire a dedicated maintenance and cleaning supervisor to oversee the staff. I have never rated a hotel with three stars. If you have to keep going down to the front desk to complain it becomes worst if you know they are not listening to you.

Before the arrival date we received a message from the hotel full of promises of perfection and to make every effort for our satisfaction. They did not even try to fulfill this promise. The service is rude and lacking in empathy and the experience at the reception, the Spa, the Bar, the restaurant... are frustrating. The building is very good as well as the location and the views but the service makes it a nightmare. Don't even consider this hotel !!
