Zaton Holiday Resort

It was just fantastic. So safe. Your items could be left outside your cabin or at pool and you wouldn't be worried it was stolen which puts you at ease and allows more fun to be had. The eurocamps cabins are a bit of a walk but there was a fun train down and we hired bikes another day. Place is spotless and modern. It is a little bit pricey but you spend what you can afford. We prioritised, trip to Silba with Arina tours, hiring bikes for two days to explore villages around Zaton, we also did inflatable on the sea. We cooked food every day as I've 3 very hungry boys who could not be filled. We had a lovely evening meal in Nin in Rustica. Great food and with croatia vibe. The site itself is of a very high standard. We stayed in the new glamping units; everything was very clean, and the rooms were fully equipped with everything necessary. Laundry facilities are available on-site. Note that the beach area actually begins near unit #18; anything close to the central complex is very noisy! In practice, this means the best glamping units are the ones in the middle—check the map before booking. I recommend booking a package that includes two meals a day, as the restaurants are very expensive. Also, bring all your own gear from home; the prices for accessories on-site are completely unreasonable—for instance, a beach chair costs 20 euros, and the simplest diving goggles cost 40 euros. There is no oversight regarding prices on-site or the external vendors providing services, such as boat trips departing from the site's marina. Not recommended.

The temperature is ideal in early September. The rooms were clean. The Chlildren enjoyed both the sea and the pools. We enjoyed the half-board dining at the Mercato Buffet Restaurant.

While the accomodation and the surroundings was nice, there were little things like stainy couch, some stain spots here and there, noisy ventillation system, that left a little bad impact afterall. The worst part was the buffet breakfast and dinner at Mercato buffet rastaurant, where the food was bad, and the place was always crowded, because of the short dining interval for a lot of people, far more than the place would be able to serve. What’s more; the staff started to pack/wrap the food like 35 minutes before the end of the dining interval every day! The Ventula restaurant on the other hand vas a very nice place, especially the staff, they were very friendly and helpful. The pool complex and the beach was nice too, but the sunbed reservation is quite expensive, and you cannot reserve only one sunbed, you have to reserve two, moreover, once you reserved them, you are tied to that spot, you cannot change it in any way. With a child it was difficult to move from the pool to the beach, and to the other pool complex with just one spot where you could sit or lie down. Maybe you can pick the sunbeds up and take them yourselves if you are in a good phisical shape, but I didn’t try it :) If you reserve a booking keep in mind that after that you have to pay for everything, there is nothing extra included in the booking. And keep away from booking the half board option, the buffet is terrible! The apartments/rooms are literally empty, there are no tea, coffee, paper towels provided, only towels (stainy) and toilet paper.

We are just back from a wonderful 5 nights in the delux apartment Pros; It’s a great and easy 30min drive from the airport. lovely well maintained grounds, spotless. The pool areas were great, good variety. Obvs you have to pay if you want sun beds but we expected that given it’s a budget holiday. I’ll do another post about the restaurant Ventula but we booked a day package which was really enjoyable. We love kids but now ours are adults it’s nice to have the option of a child free area for a little quiet time as well. We actually found it good value. However we did notice they are not forthcoming with bringing the bottle Prosecco, a few couples left around 5pm so missed out, we ended up asking for it just before closing as it was his birthday and I wanted him to have the full experience. Negs; It’s not a very well signposted resort, most other places we’ve stayed in had clear signs everywhere but not here, we had to guess a lot of the time resulting in walking way more than we wanted to….. Many of the staff were friendly but not all, some very abrupt Our apartment bathroom had the most horrendous smell to it, like stale urine, the toilet and floor was clean so we assume the shower, we reported it but not sure if they tried to do anything but it didn’t get better.
