Aminess Vival Grand Azur Hotel

Location, very good. Quiet. Beautiful sea to swim in. The beach is open to the public. It is. To large and can get busy. The staff on reception and in the dining room are at best indifferent. They couldn’t really be bothered to help. Anyone can walk in and out of the hotel. No checks are made fit you ask for a second room key. In the dining room, when I asked if one of the dishes which had run low was going to be refilled, I was told ‘ no, and I don’t care’!, There was a wide range of food but It was nearly always Luke warm. If you go down later, you run the risk of dishes being empty. If you go down early , it is a bun fight and there are no rules. Just barge in! You can drink as much as you like, the wine is on tap and so is the beer. The soft drinks were very poor, often just spouting discoloured water. You are not meant to take food or drinks away, but people did so quite openly. The staff really didn’t seem to care. The rooms are dated, Spartan and small. The air conditioning is pathetic. The shower was a dribble. However the beds were quite comfortable and the hotel was quiet. The pool area does. It have enough Sun beds and so you have to get down there by 8am to secure one. However the pool guy opens up anytime after 7:30 so it’s a lottery. The pool and pool area is nice and clean but anyone can walk in there. The pool is not big enough for the hotel. There are rules for the pool, it no one adheres to them or enforces them, so it was full of inflatables, people diving etc etc. the best time to use the pool is first thing while everyone is scrambling for breakfast or after 6 while they all head for dinner. It closes at 7. There is no shop, Orebic is 15 minutes away by an easy walk, but it is very hot. Walking with bottle of water was hard work A 75cl bottle of water in the hotel will cost you £5! The cleaners were helpful and friendly as were the entertainment staff. It is nowhere near a four star hotel

The hotel is sat in a small and safe feeling town which is easily accessed via the coastal footpath which will go all the way to the marina. The hotel reflects the town and is safe and comfortable with fantastic views. The beach is easily accessed from the hotel and is a little rocky but the water is clear with fish swimming in it. Dubrovnik is two hours away so just watch for the transfer time. The only excursion I tried to book was through the hotel and it was cancelled. A small supermarket is walkable from the hotel and has most things you need plus lays and Fanta lemon! The marina is easy to get to and on the near side harbour arm there is a fast crossing to Korcula which is a lovely place to visit for its old town. It’s around €9 for a single crossing for a family of four and booked through their website or cash on the day. The pool is smaller than some but it’s still a nice area that is kept clean by the attendant. If you get up between 8am/8:30 am you’ll get a decent sun-bed location even in August. Rooms are comfortably and sea facing rooms have stunning views of Korcula and passing boats. Food is reasonable- it’s your standard buffet offering. Breakfast was pretty good every day. Desert offering is a bit limited to cake or ice cream so could be a bit stronger. The wine and beer served with meals was decent. Only issue is if you are wanting an all inclusive- this isn’t one. This has been sold on websites as this but in reality it is full board so meals have drinks provided but the rest of the time snacks and drinks are at a charge. It is full board not all inclusive. Entertainment is a weaker element of the hotel but if you want relaxing and calm then this is not a problem. If you want a strong evening offering then this would not be the right hotel. Overall, a lovely hotel smaller hotel set in a pretty bit of coastline with the stunning island of Korcula nearby. It’s probably only just a 4 star more like a 3.5 star but if you want to feel safe and have the basics done well, it’s great. It is a long treck from the air port as it’s probably in the middle of split and Dubrovnik. The staff are friendly and helpful to guests.

I stayed with my teenage daughter. We both had a very relaxing and lovely holiday. The hotel is well situated in a peninsula famous for its winery and close to 2 lovely villages Orebic and the famous Korcula. It is in a quiet idyllic spot by the sea and the walk to the village is along the beach and is beautiful. The hotel caters mainly for families. The pool and beach are not massive but we enjoyed them both. They have a very friendly team arranging activities such as stretching, walking to the monastery, nordic walking, cycling with ebikes, dance classes, aqua dance, quizzes, bingo, live music. They also have a kids club and disco for kids and a room for teens with a tennis table, volleyball area and games which we did not use. The hotel also has a lovely restaurant which was one of the highlights. The food was varied and plentiful. You could be in the noisy airconditioned restaurant or dine on 2 terraces. Our room was very clean and so was the pool and beach. You need shoes for the beach as it is pebbly/stoney. The staff was attentive and friendly. I had a massage with someone who actually gave me advice re my back so it was great. The only disadvnatage of its location was the fact that we were 2 hours away from Dubrovnik and the airport. We took a minibus there so it was not a huge issue and the drive is extremely picturesque as you go along the beautiful unspoilt coast. A car would have been handy. We did not use the travel service of the hotel but used someone at the entrance to the village to visit Dubrovnik and do a snorkelling rivreira cruise which was great. I would say the hotel was fairly good value although it was quite expensive in July. The only minus for me was the wifi outside was patchy and the aircon in the room was a bit tricky to undertsand and the shower glass door on top of the bath made us flood the bathroom miost days. We also had a view of the carpark but I did not book the more expensive rooms so it was not a surprise. All in all a very lovely hotel for families expecially with young children who want a peaceful holiday with some activities.

Having booked 4 nights here, I ended up paying for 1 much to my disappointment and left the hotel immediately. The atmosphere was terrible. The hotel is so dated and to top it off the security is appauling. Anyone could walk into this hotel as the security gates were not working as they were just open. The beach described is not it own and shared by the locals so it can get very busy. The pool is overcrowded with no sunbeds available. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. I hardly ever right reviews but this hotel is so bad I just had to. You have been warned.

A perfect hotel for a family holiday! The location is ideal as the beach is right there, which was crucial for us with the kids. The resort is very clean, safe, and peaceful. The staff is extremely kind and attentive to children, and the food is diverse and excellent for everyone. We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation and will definitely come back😊
