Hotel Astarea I und II

We've just returned from a four night B&B stay in mlini at the Astarea & it was a fantastic stay, in an amazing, beautiful location with only a couple minors. We had a Superior Sea view room in the annex & after some concerns on the rooms size we felt it was a nice size room with no issues. Clean, modern, great bathroom, big shower, small fridge, TV etc & STUNNING views from the balcony. The hotels location on Sea front, variety of accomodation styles, collection of bars, restaurants, facilities, indoor/outdoor pool (all beautiful, clean) & the way it naturally runs into Mlinis marina promenade made it feel like a top class resort. 20-30 stroll down a beautiful promenade past a marina scattered with high end restaurants (no tacky cafes/souvenir shops) & you end up in srebreno which has more restaurants, shops, mall etc. Staff are polite but not over friendly (which is ok) cleaners clearly work hard & management made a lovely gesture for my wife's birthday with a chilled bottle of fizz in room. The scenery, Beach, crystal clear water, atmosphere was heavenly & it's Soo relaxed. We tried numerous restaurants in the area & never had a bad meal. We visited Dubrovnik, Lokrum island via boats running from marina (5mins down promenade) we went on a sunset cruise & spent time around the pool relaxing & occasionally dipping in sea to cool down/snorkel. Absolutely & highly recommend this hotel/resort as it ticks all boxes. Only negatives #1: it's quite hilly & there's lots of steps around the complex. If you struggle with mobility do your research. It's not the hotels fault it's just how it's built into the coast line & the views are worth it ... But after a long day out ... It's draining. #2: Breakfast was okay, good variety , looks good on eye tbh, BUT on the one the 1st occasion I plated a breakfast with bacon, eggs, beans etc - the fried eggs were COLD ... A cold runny egg put me right off. I tried some other items, cold. I stuck to boiled eggs (come out hot) porridge, toast, fruit & coffee. You can always find something, but I now understand the other negative comments/reviews on this matter. DO NOT let these small negatives put you off I'm just being honest & we as a married couple absolutely loved our break here & would 100% return.

We’ve just returned from a 10 day stay in this lovely hotel. We had premium sea view room in the annexe. (Room 612) Room was very clean and serviced every day. Beds very very comfy and nice soft pillows. I was worried after reading the reviews about the pool but we had no trouble getting sunbeds. Pool was a good size and we also swam in the sea everyday. Breakfast was delicious. A great choice of hot and cold dishes. We hadn’t paid for dinner in the hotel but ate at the various restaurants in Mlini. All delicious. The Basilico pizza pasta restaurant was particularly good. Very friendly staff. Konoba Lanterna was also excellent and Mlini is a beautiful village. Would definitely return.

Recently returned from a fortnight at this hotel, we were in the annexe which is away from the main building and is nice and quiet but uphill and then downhill. The room was just the right size for the two of us and was kept lovely and clean by the cleaners everyday. The main building was very smart and clean, reception staff were very polite and very helpful. Main restaurant was on level -1 and swimming pool and access to the beach on level-3. The food was very good and a large variety , drinks were a little on the pricey side nearly 5 euro for a small bottle of beer. The position of the hotel at the bottom of a large hill off the main road was not an issue as we walked along the seafront to the next village or took the water taxi to Dubrovnik 15 euro return. We had a lovely time here and would recommend to friends.

The experience did not meet my expectations Everything was very expensive in the hotel The staff were professional but not that friendly, except the man at the bar, one young lady at the bar and the cleaning of the room ladies Breakfast was like a school canteen no matter what time you went. You were not allowed to fill up a water bottle at breakfast. No cava. Pool was lovely with spaces each day. There was a charge for the sunbeds on the beach of 10 euros each and 8 euros for an umbrella I will not return and I do no recommend

Just back from a 7 night stay at this hotel after doing an Adriatic Cruise beforehand. Room was of a good standard, although as others have stated, it lacked storage space which was a little difficult to be honest. Stayed on B&B basis, & the breakfast was more than adequate, aim to get there before 8.30 though as it starts to get busy after that time. Never had a problem getting a sunbed at the pool, which was a worry after having read previous reviews. The setting was perfect for us, easy walk into the village & on to Srebreno which both offered plenty of dining options. Service at the Oleander restaurant needs looking at, we only went for drinks at various times of the day, & each time it was so slow it was unbelievable, understaffed being the problem ! All in all a decent stay, would we return, probably.
