Remisens Hotel Epidaurus

A dream vacation. We stayed here in September. The most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. The hotel is clean and tidy; the rooms are cleaned with great care. There was a huge variety of dishes to choose from. We especially liked the cold salads and the pizza. Not to mention the magnificent sea view from the restaurant terrace. The staff were discreet and friendly. The French animation didn't bother us, as there was plenty of other things for us to enjoy.

Lovely hotel, would love to go back. The location is spectacular, the sea, the sunsets, the beautiful walk into Cavtat, all wonderful. The all inclusive food was brilliant, we had a different meal every time and enjoyed every one. Lots of choice of meat/ fish/ salads/ pasta and the pizza/ chips/ nuggets that the kids loved. Lots of reviews mention the all inclusive drinks, I really do not understand the problem. We enjoyed them all, the lager, the white wine, the cocktails and the spirits. The soft drinks are fine, they aren't branded but that didn't bother us at all. Only compromise was the size of our bedroom and balcony, it was quite small, but given the wonderful location, we spent very little time in the room apart from sleeping. One small recommendation for improvement from me is that they could offer the full soft drinks selection at every drink station. We particularly enjoyed the 'Citro' but that was only available in the main restaurant. There is loads to do nearby, really good hotel for families with younger kids and/ or teenagers.

This hotel has a 3 star rating but is very close to being a 4 star hotel. From the staff in reception to Marina who looked after our room. She was so pleasant and helpful. Tomir at the pool bar was so kind and helpful alsoThe food in the hotel was excellent and could not fault it. When the staff found out that we were there for our 30th Wedding Anniversary they upgraded our room to a balcony room and sea view. We couldn't find any faults with this hotel.

Sorry to say but my stay at this hotel was very disappointing, as stated by other guest the food was very poor, basically the same food choice everyday. The pool is far too small for the size of the hotel, and the pool side bar was very limited in drink selection. As for the entertainment it is so outdated, it reminded me of holidays back in the 80's. Most of the staff were very helpful, but some were reluctant to help and not very knowledgeable about the hotel, and a number of times maintenance staff were seen smoking in the fire exits. The hotel kind of spoilt what was a really great time in Croatia, which is a lovely country.

Don't understand the bad reviews to be honest . The hotel was clean . Food was varied and entertainment on around the pool . Beautiful views. The hotel is right next to the sea . The only problem we had was the disgusting behaviour by the French treating the staff appallingly. Banging glasses down on the bar until they were served . Pushing people out of the way . Unfortunately the hotel was 90 % French. And yes I would still be saying the same if it was British. In fact at least I would have been able to voice my disgust if they had been British. Felt really sorry for the hard working polite staff who had to put up with this behaviour. Also putting towels all over the sun beds then going out all day . I used to just take the towels off and put them on the floor . Totally selfish behaviour . I always thought it was just the British the French hated but from what I experienced it seems to be every other nationality too !
