DoubleTree by Hilton Mangroovy El Gouna Resort

The hotel was nice but the staff need to work on their hospitality. You sit yourself down for the buffet restaurant and have to grab the staff’s attention for a drink which can feel like walking on eggshells. When we checked out we were told we could use the all inclusive until 3pm when our transfer time was at 4:45pm. We were not asked if we enjoyed our stay and felt like they no longer wanted us there. The pool bar including the food at lunch time was hardly on time and the same with the buffet restaurant. The music at the bar can sometimes be too loud and the same songs are played on repeat. It feels like some of the staff definitely favour some of the other guests over the others with or without tips. There is only 1 toilet for each gender at the pool and there were at least 2 consecutive days wherein the soap was empty and the toilet roll hadn’t been restocked. Some of the staff also came across as quite rude on occasion which is not what you expect from this kind of hotel/resort. Pool was nice but only one side gets the sun all day, we were down around 7:45/8am each day and there were plenty beds between 8am and 9am. The all inclusive food was decent, there wasn’t much choice but the quality of the food was really good. The al la carte restaurant wasn’t great. It just felt like the buffet restaurant and didn’t have many options. There were a few amazing staff members who attended to our needs and made our holiday enjoyable, but for the vast majority their hospitality needs a lot of work. We didn’t spend any of our days at the beach as it did not have a toilet and it is around a 4 minute walk from the hotel. But we are aware it isn’t fully ready yet. The area was nice, you can take a tok tok to downtown which is around a 10 minute drive costing around $2. There are two marinas close to the hotel which are walkable with restaurants and bars. This was the best holiday we’ve been on for eating out. It is a lovely hotel generally but certainly requires a lot of work.

The staff are very good on the hotel. Restaurant staff are amazing, Hefny, Hosny, El Hussein..etc. pasta chef, meat and fish chef all very good. Generally across the hotel the staff are worked very hard but are always very curtious and make sure you have everything. Very welcoming and Hosny always looks out for you. Even when you are not at his station. The coffee house is free for drinks but not food, however this is a brilliant part of the hotel right at reception. My only issue to highlight is that the hotel has 2 pool areas, one noisy and one quiet. But the areas are just too crowded. If you want a quiet room, pick one around the plunge pools.

I had a wonderful stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Mangroovy El Gouna. The hotel is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the staff were very welcoming and professional. Everything was well taken care of, and I truly enjoyed my experience. A special thank you to Arwa from the Front Office for her kindness, professionalism, and exceptional help. She was always friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Her service really made a difference and deserves special recognition. Thank you to the whole team for a great stay. I’m looking forward to coming back again!

We had a wonderful stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Mangroovy El Gouna. The hotel is beautiful, very clean and comfortable, with a relaxing atmosphere and excellent service. The staff were friendly, professional and always ready to help, which made our stay even more enjoyable. A very special thank you to Arwa from the Front Office! She was incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. She always greeted us with a smile and made sure that everything was perfect for us. Her professionalism and warm attitude really stood out and made us feel very welcome. Thank you, Arwa, for taking such great care of us! You are a wonderful representative of the hotel and one of the reasons we will remember our stay so positively. We had a fantastic time in El Gouna and would happily stay here again.
