SUNRISE Royal Makadi Resort

The hotel was fantastic! We are an Austrian family who recently spent our holiday at the Sunrise Royal Makadi, and we would like to give special recognition to our waiter, Mahmoud Abdel Mohsen. Mahmoud truly stood out with his outstanding friendliness, efficiency and positive attitude. He was always welcoming, attentive and incredibly quick, making sure that everything was perfect. His warm smile and cheerful personality made us feel especially comfortable and welcome throughout our stay. It is employees like Mahmoud who make a holiday truly special and unforgettable. He is a real asset to the hotel and deserves great recognition for his excellent work and dedication. Thank you, Mahmoud, for making our holiday even more wonderful! We hope the hotel appreciates what a fantastic employee they have.

Just returned from a fantastic two weeks at the Sunrise Royal Makadi with my family, I can’t recommend this place enough! My children are 11 and 5 and it caters for all. The animation team were incredible and made sure everyone was included in all activities throughout the day! Katie and Lily were particularly great and made the holiday even more enjoyable especially for the kids! The hotel is I’m a great location with a short transfer and there is loads to get out and see should you wish to explore. 10/10pm would definitely recommend and will be returning.

This is a beautiful, well-maintained resort set in extensive gardens. It is clear that everything is continually cared for, and the whole place is clean and welcoming. I particularly liked the room’s traditional style, which gave it a lovely Egyptian charm. The beds were very comfortable, it was quiet at night, and everything worked perfectly. A special thank you to the housekeeper responsible for room 12104, who always left our room spotless. The beach was cleaned every morning, and there were plenty of sun loungers. There are two beach bars, and the staff also came around to bring drinks to guests. I strongly disagree with the previous reviewer’s claim that the staff treat guests differently depending on their nationality. That was certainly not our experience. The sea has a gentle, gradual entry, and there are beautiful corals to explore while snorkelling. Of all the pools, I particularly enjoyed the lap pool, which was a very pleasant temperature. All the pools were clean. There is something happening throughout the day, including sports, games, competitions and parties. Although we did not take part in these activities, the entertainment team were lovely. The food in the main buffet restaurant was very tasty, with plenty of choice and more than enough of everything. There were also themed evenings, and there was certainly something to suit every taste. The absolute highlight was the à la carte restaurants, which I visited with my daughter: Manzoku, Elia, Basilico and Frida. The four-course menus were outstanding, with truly exquisite, delicious food. The service was equally impressive: the entire team were professional, welcoming and cheerful, making every dinner a pleasure. A special mention goes to Mahmoud Abdel Mohsen, who was consistently attentive throughout our stay. He always greeted us with a smile, offered helpful drink recommendations and made us feel very well looked after. His warmth, attention to detail and professionalism deserve particular recognition. Many thanks to him and the whole team for making our dining experiences so memorable. I would happily recommend this hotel to friends and family. I really enjoyed my stay at Sunrise. The rooms were a really good size, and the entertainment staff made the experience much better. I enjoyed volleyball with Kimo especially.

We have just returned from our 6th visit to this resort. The staff are all so very friendly and welcoming and those who recognised us from previous visits were keen to welcome us back. We spend our days at the beach which is kept very clean. We noticed more drinks service in the beach this year which was very welcome. There is good snorkelling from the beach - we have previously snorkelled from Fort Arabesque beach but this is no longer permitted. Since the addition of the Boutique hotel there have been a few more rows of beds added to the beach resulting in the relocation of some of the animation activities away from the beach but there is still activity on the beach with foam and colour parties and daily aqua gym, The animation team are very proactive and welcoming- special thanks go to Katie for chatting to us regularly and telling us what was going on. We ate in all the a la carte restaurants with the exception of Roots and also enjoyed a meal at the payable seafood restaurant - as this was being refurbished they set up tables on the beach which was lovely and it would be a great idea of that was a regular option. We only used the main restaurant for dinner on our last night and found it to be very hectic - although the food choices were very good and the choices were excellent. Breakfast and lunch choices are good there too. With the addition of the new hotel it will be interesting to see how the restaurant and a la cartes cope with the additional demand. We spent our evenings in the SunRay bar and we well looked after by Mohammed, Mostafa and Ahmed. We stayed in Block 16- ground floor garden view room which is convenient for the beach and the buffet. The rooms are a little dated but have everything you need for a comfortable stay - toiletries provided and a mini bar stocked daily with soft drinks and water Thanks all at SRM for a really enjoyable holiday - see you next year
