Very quick transfer from airport to hotel. Fairly quick check in process and taken to our room which was very spacious and had everything we required. Information said that soft drinks were replenished daily however this was not the case (despite tipping the room cleaning staff) we were there 3 days before it was replenished and was only done a further 2 times. Our room was block 14 facing the main pool/ents area, so was very noisy at night. We also had issues that an adjacent room would take our outdoor seating so we couldn’t sit out at night…definitely not keen on the open terrace situation. All our meals in main restaurant and the à la cartes were fab! No issues at all and we were very well taken care of by staff. In the main restaurant we were served by the same couple of gents and they would get us seated very promptly and brought us our drinks orders. There were a couple occasions I went for fresh orange myself and the server told me that he would get me them. He looked after us so well. The panorama bar is where we’d have a before and after dinner drink and some dining staff transferred over to this bar and again the staff here were outstanding they knew exactly what we drank and always brought it over to us. They were especially good as I always requested a small rum & Coke Zero and they always got it perfect! Pool bar staff were outstanding too they served us fantastically for the whole week. Even before we tipped them they would bring drinks over to us as soon as they seen our glasses were empty. On the few occasions we did go over to the bar they always said they’d bring the drinks right over! Honestly the staff made our holiday, they looked after us so well. We’ve been all over the world and never had such impeccable service. The staff are a credit to the hotel. My only negative is that the pool area was very substandard will tiles peeled off in a substantial amount of the pool, the surrounding pool grilling were broken and trip hazards. The areas where the loungers were never cleaned and of poor quality and the loungers could do with an upgrade. To fix all the pool issues they’d have to close the main pool for a few months. This really lets the hotel down and I would definitely not say it was 5 stars due to the state of disrepair. The pool bar area could also be upgraded. The seats and tables were chipped, rusting and quite dirty too. Overall you spend most of your time around the pool so you expect a lot better. Never have we ever seen a pool with so many bald patches where tiles had peeled away, very very poor! If it wasn’t for the outstanding staff then I would’ve been complaining. Regardless we will not be back. Visitors were mainly Russian and Asian guests, the Russians were fine the others were extremely rude allowing their children to run amock.
