Cook's Club Hersonissos

have just returned home after a lovely 10 day stay (aside from miserable weather last 3 days😭) I agree with the below review regarding the area, definitely not the prettiest , but handy and only 5 mins in taxi to the old village and koutalafari which were lovely. The hotel itself is great, the staff work so very hard and constantly maintain the cleanliness and aesthetic look of keeping everywhere top standard- i’ve never noticed that at anywhere i’ve stayed before ! so friendly and accommodating too Loved the music and vibe, was a little nervous after reading reviews earlier on in year , we are in our mid forties so not too over the hill 😬😂 but was fab plenty of choice at breakfast we ate a few times at bar and food was so nice , and reasonable too. rooms were great, again cleaners do a great job , comfy beds , would be handy to have a full length mirror and some hooks on back of doors etc would definitely return to a cooks club chain in future , thankyou for a lovely stay ☺️

When we was dropped off on a Main Street and informed to walk a few hundred meters , we could not see the hotel . It was on the Main Street, I nearly cried , it felt like Blackpool with the sun . However, once you walk through what’s like a shipping container entrance the hotel is there . Fast checkin, not showed to room or carried bags . Corridors very narrow and plain , but very clean. Room layout sink in bedroom with shower seperate and toilet on opposite side of room . Never not had a bathroom before , but we got used to it . our room was over looking the back , very narrow balcony just enough room to sit forward but can’t stretch legs. Fridge and air con in the room , free bottle of water on arrival . Room cleaned daily with fresh towels . Breakfast we loved , plenty variety although I had the same each day I was happy with the fruits , nuts section . My husband tried the omelettes and had no issues . Staff friendly and clean pots away off tables quick . Coffee nice . Sunbeds deep and comfy , however no umbrella s near the pool but beds on the garden area , with little tables . We had lunch most days and sampled many dishes competitive pricing to the local places , and good quality food and presentation , we sat on our sun loungers to eat , drinks brought to you . The staff work hard , and pleasant . The music starts off a bit softer in the morning probably from about 11 am . We loved the music in the afternoon and DJ on his mixing decks ., some entertainment mainly focused around music or the big screen , we was happy with that . We found the area a bit Blackpool on Main Street and the beach is a short walk down any side street about two mins , more bars and restaurants across from the sea . The beach we thought was awful and didn’t step foot on it , was slim 2 sunbeds deep , very choppy sea . Not for us . The villages a 15 min walk behind the hotel we found much nicer and I even did some dancing and plate throwing . I wouldn’t go back to this area of Crete , we did a couple of trips and nice to see other areas of Crete . we spoke to other tourists who had been going for 10 plus years .plus I would go and make your own decision . As for cooks club , if you like clean , modern good food and music then go , it wasn’t roudy , nice friendly guests . I’m just looking at the one in Rhodes for May we will be back 😍

I had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances and was so impressed by Stella - she was so so helpful, caring, understanding and helped me throughout my booking. Although I am very sad I couldn’t come here this time, I will be booking my next visit due to Stella’s helpfulness - she is a real asset to the hotel - thank you so much and look forwarding to seeing you next summer!

We’ve just returned from a 5 night stay and overall had a really lovely time. Location: The hotel is located in the centre of Hersonissos, just cross over the road and you’re on the sea front, which made it really easy to get around. There’s loads of restaurants on the front and shops/bars on the street. Perfect little mini market right next to the hotel. The hotel: The hotel itself was really nice and modern. Our room was one of the Junior Suites. We overlooked a building site which was annoying but one of those things. We had a separate bedroom/living room / bathroom and it was really spacious. Beds really comfy and aircon was great. Only suggestions from me - we didn’t have a full length mirror what was really frustrating as couldn’t check the whole outfit etc. there was plenty of places it could go also. There is no hooks on the back of the bathroom door which would also be a benefit. One thing I would add, I felt like the room didn’t get properly cleaned any day we were there. There was an oily mark on the bedside table from where my body oil had been placed down, and I’d tried to wipe but you could still see the oil, and it was not cleaned once the whole stay. Similarly, I had smashed the top of a glass bottle accidentally and we cleared up as much of the glass ourselves as possible, obviously assuming the cleaners would sweep/mop the floor but that didn’t seem to happen there was still glass on the floor. Also, having a bedroom/living room separate, means that in the bedroom you don’t have a balcony just a window, which I think I’d have preferred the other way round. One of the light fixtures next to the bed was also hanging off the wall which we were cautious of. Sunbeds around the pool are so comfy. Best location is the sunbeds facing opposite the bar. We paid for late checkout €55 until 16:30 which was great. Food & drinks: Breakfast Buffet was fine. It wasn’t as large as other hotels I’ve been to. Sometimes the food was cold which was frustrating. I also didn’t like the mushrooms and tomatoes being in the same pot rather than separate but that’s just me being picky. The omelette station was lovely, but some cheese as an option was make it 10/10. The drinks at the pool bar were lovely especially the strawberry daiquiri. Also the menu for lunch the food was amazing. Best club sandwich I’ve ever had. Didn’t stay for dinner as there is so many options nearby. Staff & service: The staff were all helpful. Bringing drinks and food to the sunloungers felt luxury. When checking in you are provided with an iPad to fill out your details. I feel like this could be provided before you check in maybe 2 days before to speed the process up - other hotels do this. I used the scan passport feature to input the details, and when complete returned it to the lady at the desk. She didn’t believe I had completed it and nearly refused to take it back. I had to tell her 3/4 times I had completed all the information before she believed me. Which was strange because I’d completed everything using the feature on the iPad. But nevertheless the check in process was smooth. You get towel cards you can exchange for fresh towels everyday. Facilities: Pool was cold but we did come in September. Like I said the sunbeds were so comfy. You can’t reserve sunbeds as they will remove towels but people do secure the best ones from 7:30-8am and just sit on them reading etc until it’s acceptable to leave the sunbeds to get breakfast. If you want restaurant recommendations: El Puerto - Mexican King Scorpio - best steak I’ve had, we went on a Saturday for Mamma Mia night and was fantastic. Med Cafe - gorgeous views and unbelievable lamb gyros. Dellys - great for a lunch, wrapped gyros 2 cokes for €20 Areya - we got a taxi to areya in Analipsi (10mins) they have a traditional Greek night on a Monday (plate smashing etc) which was fantastic definitely recommend.

Just returned from a weeks stay with 12 other friends. The hotel is very welcoming, the staff can’t do enough for you, the food is excellent and very well priced, the drinks prices are good for the type of vibe you get. The entertainment from the Dj is great from 1pm until around 5:30, good music with different types of genres mainly deep house, Afro house and 80s, 90s. The local area is ok, main streets are just outside with various choices of bars and restaurants. There are two improvements that could be made. All the rooms need some sort of privacy curtain added as you need to open the curtains to let light in but then you are fully exposed to other balconies. I would also add a water fill Up station as I’ve experienced in other hotels. I would definitely return to another cooks club in another country as they are a very good brand. Big shout to the manager for allowing us to feature a special photo on the wall of one of our fiends !! Thanks cooks club for helping us all share more great memories together. We are all in our 50s and the hotel provided us with a great experience. 👌
