Flegra Palace

Beautiful hotel staff cannot do enough friendly and professional our cleaner fotina kept our room immaculate. We had room 403 which had a terrace which we loved. We were served drinks and snacks at our lounger. Sonya at the spa was excellent we had a body scrub when we arrived which we recommend 40 Euros 25 minutes. Breakfast had plenty of variety. Hotel is quiet and very relaxing. Pefkahori is a good 25 minute walk. No shops or bars directly outside hotel. Roughly 10 minute walk to beach which is shingle and pebbles definitely need beach shoes sun loungers are free but minimum spend is 15 Euros per person at the mere nostra restaurant loungers are comfortable and you are served at your lounger. Beach is a bit scruffy in areas. Mary and the reception staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. panos at the bar restaurant is a character and a lovely person, effi Maria and all the bar waiting on staff were absolutely lovely sorry if we have missed anybody out. The grounds are so well kept.

Generally an ok hotel ! Alhough it does have some faults. Rooms have have no sound insulation and very noisy from nextdoor and rooms above . Design and layout have bathrooms / beds back to back and source of constant disturbance at night. The hotel is popular with European familes who arrive in large groups. There appears to be no effort by the hotel to accomodate familes in a close proximity to one another, we had a daily nightmare of 8 people in one room . On two occssions we spoke to reception about our lack of privacy and disturbance . Room was clean, however for a 4 star hotel only one bottle of water supplied on day of arrival and tea and coffee not refilled during our 2 wk stay. Excellent choice at breakast ,no complaints Pool area is in need of urgent cleaning and maintenance. Visible dirt and mould , broken tiles and a large build up of yellow/green greasy deposit around the water line. We did not witness and cleaning of the pool during our stay . The breafast area directly overlooks rhe pool which is not open until 10am for " so called cleaning and chemicals to be added" and we saw no cleaning suring oue 2 week stay We did however see a rat taking a stroll around the pool area one day mid morning. Did not enjoy my stay here, booked a premium room, which was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. The mattress was awful, hardly any storage, the bathroom was mouldy and the room absolutely stank of sewage. Not nice at all. The room was cleaned daily, however only one bottle of water provided on check in day. Tea and coffee not replenished all week. The pool had green sludge, was full of flies and bugs, and so much chlorine it turns your swimwear green! We had to visit the doctor for eyedrops to treat chlorine burns to eyes. Lifeguard was asleep numerous times through out the stay. Not enough umbrellas, sunbeds were taken early, towels left all day. The staff were rude and unhelpful, and did not look happy to be there. The food wasn't great either, There was a rat running round the pool area on one of the days we were there! Shops were a 20 minute walk away, was a very boring walk to dinner every night, Would not return to this hotel! Very disappointing experience.

Loved our stay at the hotel. Got a lovely room overlooking the pool. The local town is a 15 minute walk and you are spoilt for choice with a plethora of bars, shops and restaurants. The hotel staff are lovely and help me with my lost baggage. We took a TUI bus transfer from the airport and Flegra Palace is the last hotel on the stop. It took two hours to the hotel ( the only negative about our stay ) and on top of that they lost my bag. the hotel staff were proactive and I got my bag the same evening. I would definitely stay here again and reccomend this hotel for families who don't want an all inclusive but want to explore the local area and eat in the local town. Big shout out to Maria the hotel manager and the lovely team at the hotel.

We’ve just returned from a week at Flegra Palace with the family and, overall, had a really enjoyable stay. It’s a nice hotel with a relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and a great swimming pool. The location is excellent too! Close enough to the beach to make it really easy to pop down whenever you fancy a swim. Our room was a good size, nicely presented and had excellent air conditioning, which was definitely appreciated in the Greek heat. However, storage was surprisingly limited for a family staying for a week. Housekeeping was also a bit hit and miss, on occasions the room was cleaned but the beds weren’t made, which is something you would expect as standard from a hotel of this level. The bar staff were friendly, but I think they would benefit from a little more hospitality training. Things like checking that guests are happy, repeating orders back and generally being a little more chatty and engaging would make a difference. The same applies to the breakfast and waiting staff. They were friendly, but could be more assertive when it comes to maintaining a safe and pleasant environment in the restaurant. On one morning, for example, an Australian family were allowing their children to run freely between the tables while people were carrying hot drinks and plates. The staff didn’t really intervene, and it felt like an accident waiting to happen. I appreciate that parents ultimately have responsibility for their children, but a polite word from staff would have been appropriate in the circumstances. One issue we did encounter was arriving late at around 11pm after our flight. Room service had already finished, leaving us with no option other than heading into the main town to find something to eat. It would be good if the hotel could offer some sort of late-arrival food option for guests arriving on late flights. The spa was OK, although very expensive for what it offers. Reception staff during the day were very good and helpful, although the evening receptionist, Xenia, could perhaps have been a little more polite and welcoming. A special mention should go to the hotel manager, Mary, who was very friendly and approachable. She listened to the feedback we gave and responded really well, which was appreciated and showed that the hotel does genuinely want to improve the guest experience. Overall, though, Flegra Palace is a great place to stay. Friendly, relaxed, clean, with a lovely pool and a fantastic location near the beach. Just be aware that there isn’t a huge amount to do immediately around the hotel, so if you’re looking for lots of activities and entertainment on your doorstep, this probably isn’t the place for you. For us, despite the few niggles, it was a very enjoyable family holiday and I’d happily consider staying here again.
