TUI BLUE Oceanis Beach Resort & Spa

We have returned from a 14 day stay here (Late Aug/Early Sept) and we both had a great time. You'll eat a lot and roast in the sun. Good times. Whilst its listed as 5 stars, I feel it's more a 4 star hotel. Here is my reasoning for this: 1) Drinks - We felt let down by the drinks. The juices seem watered down, the cocktails taste like pre-made syrups. You can have fresh orange juice at breakfast, but an orange juice during the day is completely different. - There is very little drink service when you're on your lounger. - The cup size are very small, with ice you're not left with much. - Some glasses/bowls have chips/cracks 2) Allergen Icons Having a peanut allergy, I was really relying on the allergen cards; however, there’s a few things I noticed which worried me. There would be something that is nut free, the card was nut free, yet somebody had decorated this with pistachios. 95% of all the desserts are given a nut icon. The reason for this is the pastry they use has 'May contain nuts' on the packaging. I also believe the peanut icon isn't used on the desserts as they just use the nut icon. You can ask somebody to grab a chef to tell you what you can and can't eat (and the lady chef was very helpful); however, the cards are there for a reason. Perhaps they need to introduce a 'may contain nuts' icon. 3) The Room - The replacement of the mini bar drinks / milk pots was a bit random, sometimes they didn’t get restocked. - Some towels/pillow cases were stained, others had rips and holes. - Our room has light coming in around the door frame. I had to block the light by stuffing much tissue around this 1cm gap. (also bring blue-tac to cover the fire alarm red flashing LED, the TV LED and the air con LED) - We did ask for a double and got two singles but wasn't a problem, just be aware. - Bit dirty when we arrived, dust/hairs etc - No Iron 4) Entertainment. - The entertainment in the evening feels very catered to the older customers. Expect to hear The YMCA & Abba's dancing queen a lot. I feel like they're missing a trick by avoiding upbeat music. - If you're there more than a week, you may find some repeating entertainment too. Don't let the negative put you off, we had a really good time. The staff are really nice and friendly, the entertain team are great people. We had a great time on the 3 island boat trip and KOS tour (half day) excursions. You'll get a great tan, get fat and see lots of fish in the clear water. Just setting the expectations if you have an allergy, expect fresh juices, want some banging tunes or expect a 5 star resort, bear these things in mind.

This is currently our second stay at the Oceanis. Having first stayed there two years ago. That in itself is a compliment, I think it’s the first time we have ever returned to a resort hotel… We are 9 days into a 2 week break and are having a great time. Oceanis is marketed by TUI Blue as being a 4 star plus. Not 5 star. So anyone complaining it isn’t 5 star needs to check what they booked. But to be honest the hotel competes well with the 5 star TUI holidays in Greece we have previously had in any case. The beach area on the grass with the partial shade of the trees in a peaceful setting remains my favourite part of the hotel. It truly is lovely. There are two bars on the beach manned by hard working staff. The sea is great for snorkelling. Lovely The main pool seems to have become a bit more lively with the music, but many people like that. For me I enjoy the quietness of the beach. The staff are as friendly as ever. Credit to Antonis for showing us his Welsh speaking skills..! The food remains excellent. As good as buffet food gets frankly. The a la carte remains superb. Remember to bring an appetite along… Although they seem to run out of the honey cake most nights which is a shame because it’s my favourite! Credit and thanks to the main cocktail-making man at the reception bar for making me a mai Thai which was absolutely delicious. While I’m on the cocktails, the hotel uses local liquors. Which are very pleasant. The TUI Blue listing also says this, so anyone complaining that the liquors aren’t branded again need to check what they booked. Although they do have Gordon’s gin for the gin and t’s which is nice. The doors to the rooms in the corridors are quite thin, which does carry a bit of noise into the rooms. I don’t think that’s the cleaners’ fault. On the housekeeping, they have been great in looking after us. Credit to them. The draft beer is pleasant. Some of the cocktails use a bit too much sweet syrup. The cocktails that use juice from the carton are the best. I am also glad to see that the red wine now is nice, an upgrade from the red wine two years ago..! If the wine has a chance to breathe in a carafe before serving then it’s at its best. Hotel management should be applauded also for being visible and interacting with guests. This time we booked a private transfer to the hotel with C&S transfer. This was well worth it to get to the hotel and start enjoying it. Unfortunately TUI put the Oceanis as the last drop off on a long drive… So I would recommend doing the same for the sake of €55. Will we come back again.? Yes, absolutely. Thank you Oceanis from Mr and Mrs Cullen.

I wouldnt stay here again if you paid me. Noisy beyong belief boom boom music and pathic loud entertainment. Food was poor and at times cold. If anyone thinks this is 5 star then they aint ever stayed in a 5 star. The only good thing was the italian and the lady behind the bar at the quiet pool. The cleaners well they need to learn how to clean and also nit keep guests awake at 07.45 in the morning banging there trolleys about

We hugely enjoyed our stay. All the staff were excellent. All friendly and helpful. The crepes lady at the small pool is ine of the hardest working people there..but always smiles and laughs. Room good. Air con excellent. Well serviced. But half the towels need to be thrown away. They are well past their sell by date. Beach and grassy area good. Main pool a little small. Food excellent. I had one bad meal at an a la carte restaurant. The chicken breast was tougher than my boots. Partners meal was great. I am a wine drinker. The house white was too acidic, and the red became better when put in a carafe, giving it much needed oxygen. The wine in a la carte restaurants was poor value. All high end Greek and local vinyards. I dont recall seeing wine from other countries. Other drinks were fine but the skill variance between bar people is a huge gap that needs to be closed with training. Its not hard to make a decent gin and tonic, but half were ruined. Anyway the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Im glad we went and am considering returning. Thats a first.

Had a very nice time but definitely not 5 star. Food not great for 5 star and cocktails are like water. Pools far to small for the size of the hotel, the grass area on the beach is nice but the sand area is awful. No room service ( which we wouldn't use but all 5 stars do ) Hardly anyone ever comes around the pool asking if you woukd like a drink. Meant to be all inclusive but in some areas you have to pay for coffee and some cocktails you have to pay for. Entertainment team are very good. As I said we had a good time as very relaxing but comparing it to other 5 star hotels we have been to I would say this is more a 3 plus star to 4 star.
