Aulus Lindos Rhodes, Curio Collection by Hilton

This is a really nice hotel but it has issues. Firstly, though we arrived late there was no welcome drink. A little thing, I know, but this is supposed to be superior. In fact we were lucky to get any drink at all at the restaurant as the bar had shut at midnight, thankfully a manager was on hand. There were no pool towels in the room, nor until 10am at the pool, so we weren’t as comfortable as we could have been in the first morning. Again, a little thing but one that could be avoided. The room was lovely, large and clean, however the balcony only had 2 chairs for a 4 person room, this would become an issue. The food was very nice throughout. We had no difficulty booking the à la carte restaurants. There were times, however, in the buffet where there were no plates or bowls. You also cannot get any decaf tea or coffee before the pool bar opens up around 10, so not with your breakfast. Service was an issue, especially for drinks in the evening. You could get a first drink, you had to really fight for attention to get a second, and you’d have to wander off to a bar for a third. It took half the holiday before they realised leaving a wine bottle made it easier for everyone. The choice of drinks in the restaurants was poor, pretty much beer or wine. Anything else took a long time (for the reason below) or was unavailable in the Italian, which had no neighbouring bar. When you left the next issue became the bar. There’s only 1 bar, manned by 1 guy (good and friendly but overworked) who was also servicing the main, Asian and Greek restaurants. This led to a queue, see picture, the bar area was also too small without enough tables, so you couldn’t always stay. This then made the lack of chairs in the room an issue. The mini bar in the room only had beer and soft drinks, it really needed wine and spirits to take the pressure off the bar. The beers and wines were ok but cocktails generally premixed and not great. The pool bar during the day had two behind the bar, so was less busy. Soft drinks were available from a fridge at the corner, however it’s a fair trek from the beach. Reserving sunloungers didn’t seem too much of an issue around the pool, you could get them into the morning though there weren’t enough. A chunk of space had been given to the Italian, which would have been useful. There was no issue on the beach, there were always some available, though you had to be up early if you wanted a cabana. The beach is pebbly, so beach shoes made it easier to get in the sea. Ferries to Lindos go from almost directly outside the hotel. My favourite part of the hotel was the Surfer Maya, a little street food shack between the pool and beach, open in the afternoon. You could get souvlaki, gyros, chips, cakes, fruit and other stuff, perfect for those who don’t want too much lunch or to trek off to a restaurant. This review is probably coming over quite negative, which is a little misleading. We had a very nice holiday but it could have been great. The food’s good, it’s clean, you can get comfy sunloungers but it needs another bar and better service. It feels they’re making it deliberately difficult to get drinks.

We have just finished a wonderful family stay at Aulūs Lindos Rhodes, and as a Hilton Honors Gold member who has stayed at a number of Hilton properties, I felt this hotel and, in particular, its people deserved special recognition. We travelled as a family of eight, including our seven-month-old son, and from before we even arrived, the level of care and attention was excellent. I particularly want to recognise Siiri Kolunsarka in Guest Relations, who was exceptional throughout our entire stay. Siiri was our point of contact whenever we needed assistance and genuinely could not have done more for us. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and everything was handled warmly, professionally and efficiently. One of the highlights of our holiday was celebrating our wedding anniversary, and Siiri went above and beyond by helping to organise a beautiful private dinner for my wife and me at the amphitheatre. It was an incredibly special setting and a memory we will keep from this trip for a very long time. She also assisted us with arranging a late checkout on our final day, which was particularly valuable when travelling with a seven-month-old baby and having a late flight home. The standard of service Siiri provided is exactly what makes a good hotel stay become an exceptional one. She is a real credit to Aulūs Lindos and Hilton, and I genuinely cannot commend her highly enough. A huge thank you must also go to Stella, who looked after us at both the Greek and Italian à la carte restaurants. She was absolutely fantastic with our whole family. What really stood out was the care she showed towards our seven-month-old son. She went out of her way to arrange a bespoke meal of pasta with fresh Pecorino and extra virgin olive oil especially for him. That level of thoughtfulness meant a great deal to us as parents and is something we will remember. At breakfast, Vicky was another star. Every morning she prepared fresh omelettes for our family of eight, always with a smile. Despite how busy breakfast could be, she was consistently friendly, welcoming and cheerful. By the end of the holiday, seeing her each morning had become part of our routine! Wilson at the evening bar also deserves a special mention. His cocktails were excellent, but just as importantly, his friendly service made our evenings even more enjoyable. We also received fantastic service from Alex and Eleonora at the pool bars, who looked after us brilliantly during the days, and Ezekiel at the buffet, who was always attentive and welcoming. Finally, I would like to thank Thaleia, the Guest Experience Manager. Her excellent service actually began before we arrived. I had exchanged several emails with her while organising our stay, restaurant reservations and family arrangements, and she was incredibly helpful and patient in getting everything organised for us. Having that support before travelling with a large family and a young baby made arriving at the resort much easier. The resort itself is beautiful, the food across the restaurants was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed the facilities, but the people are what made this holiday stand out. There is a genuine warmth among the team that is difficult for a hotel to manufacture. Travelling as a large family with a seven-month-old can sometimes be challenging, but the staff consistently made us feel welcome and looked after. To Siiri, Stella, Vicky, Wilson, Alex, Eleonora, Ezekiel, Thaleia and the wider Aulūs Lindos team – thank you for making our family holiday and anniversary so memorable. As a Hilton Honors Gold member, this is exactly the sort of hospitality that makes me want to continue choosing Hilton properties. A very easy 5 stars from us, and we would happily return to Aulūs Lindos.

Had a amazing holiday here staff all fabulous they go out there way to make sure all good Greg that waited on us in main buffet went out off his way very polite . Our cleaner for room did such a beautiful job room was always spot on .

The bartender Wilson was absolutely brilliant, he made my holiday. And how can I forget Alex.
