Matoula Beach

Matoula beach is a beautiful hotel. On arrival we had a warm welcome from the man on reception. Was very helpful and talked us through everything. All the staff on reception have been helpful and pleasant. Our room overlooked the garden, facing the bar, room 211 It was spotlessly clean, the housekeeping staff work incredibly hard and again are always so attentive and friendly. We loved the little touches the housekeepers did, arranging our nightwear in the bed once made. We had our room and bins done daily with regular towel and shower mat changes. The whole hotel is cleaned to a high standard. Breakfast, great variety, hot and delicious. Food from the restaurant is also good. Having a good menu. The bar and waiting on staff are friendly and chatty, making you feel at home and welcome. Nothing is too much and they go above to ensure you are looked after and relaxed whilst here. Getting sunbed was never an issue, no one reserving beds at a stupid hour with a towel! The beds are spread out, which is great so you are not so close to others if you want a bit of peace. Surrounded area. There’s not much to do outside of the hotel, there are a handful of restaurants and shops but all are spread about. We found a restaurant on the main road which was a 15 minute walk called Antonis, beautiful food and value. Ideal bar also very good food and this is closer to the hotel with a great little shop next door called Anastasia, that sells fresh local produce and gifts, really great shop and cheaper than the one opposite the hotel Billy’s sports bar, just up the road from the hotel, great menus and service . You need to find your bearings on day one, and you will find other supermarkets and restaurants that are a further out, but nothing more than 20 minute walk. You can’t access the beach from the hotel so go right and follow the road around , keeping tight and you come to the beach. We got the private bus into the old town, which is stunning and well worth the trip. We paid €18 for a return, you gave pre select your departure and return time, but in fairness this takes the stress away from relying on local busses, again reception sort this for you. Planes!! They come over frequently and are loud and close, personally we have loved watching them, especially at nighttime. Overall we have had a lovely week in this beautiful hotel, thank you to all the staff for being so welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended Matoula Beach Hotel

The hotel was spotless and all the staff made us feel welcome. We had a late flight so asked if we could have a late check out (it’s usually 11am), the lady on reception was so lovely and they extended our check out until 6pm ( it cost us a little bit more) which was absolutely brilliant,it meant we were able to spend the day on the beach and around the pool but could still have a shower before leaving

Just back from a wonderful 10 day stay and couldn't have asked for more. All of the staff were absolutely amazing so friendly welcoming and friendly and genuinely couldn't do enough for us during our stay. The hotel and Our room was spotless and everything was kept to a very high standard and smelt clean and fresh every day. The location was perfect for us as we enjoy walking , the local beach was just a short distance away. We had a wonderful relaxing stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. We would happily return.

What can I say loved this place . Arrived early hours to a warm welcome at reception, we were checked in promptly and up to our room where we received a pool and sea view with a bottle of red wine for our anniversary. I’ll start with the staff , absolutely amazing and very friendly and helpful they couldn’t do enough for us . Onto the food , we stayed half board and the food was lovely breakfast loads to choose from and always something fresh to eat , evening meal same again was beautiful and freshly cooked as we ordered it . The restaurant is spotless and so clean . The hotel and pool area is really clean and well kept gardens . Location wise it’s not too bad some local tavernas and bars but the rest is a good walk. Very good for kremasti beach 🏖️. We used this as our base as we hired a car for a few days to tour the island and highly recommend to do this Rhodes is easy to navigate by car we went to so many places it was the highlight of our trip x An a whole had a great holiday at Matoula beach and cannot say a bad word little gem of a hotel we will be sad to leave behind. Wonderful family friendly hotel. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Pool area is lovely - always sun loungers available no matter what time of the day which is really great especially in peak summer. Children allowed their inflatables. Very clean and well maintained hotel. Family room felt spacious enough for 4 of us with a lovely pool view. Air con is the best we’ve ever had abroad and made a massive difference in the hot weather. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
