Maya Ubud Resort & Spa

Where should I begin? There are many reasons this resort is just perfect: - the tranquilness (yet minutes away from bustling Ubud centre - a free shuttle bus is provided there and back a number of times daily); - the size of the resort (you'll never get bored wandering the paths down to the river or the extensive gardens); - the genuine warmth and helpfulness of ALL staff; - the cleanliness of the rooms and resort as a whole; - the live evening entertainment (acoustic set at the Tree Bar ( I think from 6pm) followed by vibrant, cultural dance shows that take place EVERY evening on the centre stage area. ... but what comes to mind when I think of this holiday is the excellent culinary service provided by Chef Gusti and his team! One of our family members has food allergies and is used to being told what she "cannot" have from a menu, but here at Maya Ubud, the inclusivity went above and beyond. From our first breakfast, Chef Gusti asked her what she liked the look of. If it contained nuts or sesame, he would go away and make her a portion nut and sesame free. This continued throughout our stay and he would check in with us regularly. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him again for his wonderful service. The food here was so good and varied, we never ate outside the resort once (and therefore never experienced Bali Belly). I sampled everything from Indonesian/Malaysian curry dishes to satay, burgers and pasta; each and every dish was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented (in fact the seafood pasta was better than any I have ever had in Italy). If this resort was nearer home, I would visit every year!

A beautiful and spacious resort in a great location close to the city center. Every member of the staff, without exception, provided exceptional service. The resort is surrounded by a natural forest, where you may see monkeys and reptiles, but we did not experience any problems at all. A special thank you to our butler, Darmen, as well as Arya and Gangga, for their outstanding hospitality. Many thanks also to Hafidz, the photographer, who took some truly beautiful photos of us. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this resort!

There was a wedding on one night when we were there which we were told about the day before. They therefore cancelled the live music and cultural performance that is on every night and was part of the reason we booked to stay here. The wedding dinner was in an area of the restaurant and we could hear all the speeches word for word while eating our dinner. The music was very loud until midnight. I think the wedding guests had a great time but the hotel should have made provisions to ensure the other guests weren't disrupted, especially when paying this much money. Just be aware if you book to stay here that this may happen. It's a real shame as we would have given a very high review if it wasn't for this.

We had an amazing stay at maya ubud. The spa one one the best massages I’ve ever had. The servers were attentive and very nice, especially Arya who even had his own speciality cocktail.

The hotel and grounds were exceptional. The rooms were very nice. The lifts from the hotel to our rooms were a little disappointing. However everything else was super no complaints. Staff were polite and did as much as they could to assist.
