Riu Oliva Beach Resort

Check in prompt and good clean reception area. No porter to assist luggage so wasn’t great finding room and carrying cases up stairs (in the annex) no lifts Food fresh and constant no complaints even a fussy eater would be ok, drinks limited and felt rushed at the bar as to what there was unless you were ordering the basics , only a few friendly bar staff. pools themselves were good but tiled floors around the pool and under/around sun loungers extremely dirty and not cleaned the whole week. rooms very dated but clean, balcony lovely with decent furniture. Limited water dispensers throughout the hotel only 1 machine in each restaurant-bar so queues were long or you could buy bottled from vending machines or shop. Beach fantastic, rough sea but really nice beach entertainment varied , live singers were fantastic, other shows were basic, bingo badly organised no one knew where to go to get books from etc. bus service really good into town and taxi also great reasonably priced

Good to go back for our third visit, needs a little TLC though, food and drink very good.Staff very polite and helpful.

We have just returned from the Riu Oliva Beach Resort and honestly couldn’t recommend it highly enough! Yes, the rooms are a little dated and there is obviously some maintenance work needed around the hotel. However, nothing really stands out unless you go looking for it. The hotel is completely and utterly spotless. While we were there, they were even touching up and repainting areas of the walls to brighten everything up again, which showed that they are clearly making an effort to maintain the property. The pools are very, very clean, and the cleanliness throughout the entire hotel really impressed us. Everywhere was kept beautifully clean and tidy. The food was fabulous, with something for everyone, and the drinks were great too. All of the staff — from the waiters to everyone else working at the hotel — were incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble. And then there are the views… simply stunning and absolutely breathtaking! Waking up every morning to the sound of the sea was an absolute joy and made the holiday feel so special. We stayed in room 233, which was in a great location and didn’t involve too many stairs. There are also three lifts. They can be a little slow at times, but they were always working! Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and would highly recommend the Riu Oliva Beach Resort to anyone looking for a friendly, spotlessly clean hotel in the most beautiful location. The stunning views, sound of the sea, fantastic food and wonderful staff made it a holiday to remember.

Just returned from 7 nights stay at this hotel. I was very anxious, having booked before a spinal injury, and subsequent diagnoses of osteoporosis and osteopenia. I was pleasantly surprised that our emailed request for a room either ground floor or easily accessible via lift was honoured. Main building, 2nd floor and not far to navigate from the lift. Spectacular view from balcony, firstly towards the sea, and secondly towards the hills/ mountains. Privacy between rooms on the balcony. There was plenty of room and access for my wheelchair. Food choices and drinks in all inclusive were more than adequate. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to access the soft sand and beach due to medical issues, and ironically it was why I had chosen the hotel in the first place. Loads of comments in reviews saying that the hotel is tired and needs refurbishment. We took that on board, but chose to view it as ‘retro’ and very much in the style of ‘Biba’ Accessibility is variable with, some stairs/ steep slopes did not have rails if using walking sticks, and no rail in the lifts . I had to use the walls in places for any stability. *Take note RIU, these are adaptations you could easily undertake, and which would encourage us to return to the resort. The Annexe site has easy stepped access, and also sloped access to the pool. The restaurant there was more relaxing than in main hotel. Overall we think that the hotel is great, very friendly staff, and everywhere was spotless, cleaning undertaken constantly. The mattress was wonderful, best comfort I have had since back injury. We had a great time!

Myself and my friend spent two weeks at the hotel and we had a great time. Its dated but the food and staff were amazing and the place was very clean. Its excellent value for money and in a lovely setting
