SBH Club Paraiso Playa

Overall i had a nice one week stay at SBH Club Paraiso Playa. I had a nice sea view room which was cleaned every day to a great standard. Nice comfy bed, balcony and air conditioned too! There was a great selection of food at meal times. All the usual drinks on offer too. I caught the end of a meet and greet by the pool bar with all the heads of each department at the hotel too. For example the restaurant manager, hotel manager, entertainment crew and maintenance. I thought this was a nice touch and really showed that they are working hard to make sure everyone’s stay was pleasant. There were three swimming pools and plenty of sun loungers to choose from. One pool was very generous in size and found it very easy do lengths! The pool temperature wasn’t too bad and the water was clear. A good poolside bar with plenty of drinks on offer too. Down a set of steps, which were a little steep. There is a nice beach. I went for a couple of nice walks, had a paddle in the sea and sat on the beach watching the world go by which was nice. Also had a walk along the cliff tops which was very nice. As i mentioned earlier all staff work incredibly hard all hours of the day and were friendly too. Animation team worked hard too. The hotel was a little dated in places and could do with a bit of an update, but this is likely up to SBH who run the hotel. I assume the hotel is open all year round due to the nice year round temperatures which would probably make it hard to carry out any significant work. I would say that a few of the broken/ cracked floor tiles could be replaced, a lick of paint here and there would do the job for the time being. Also quite a few of the outdoor lights weren’t working which did make it a little dark at night. This could be easily solved too. Despite this the whole hotel was always kept clean and tidy. I have stayed at modern hotels that were no where near as clean! The evening entertainment wasn’t great i have to be honest. Could maybe have done with more of a variety of performers and better advertising. It also started too late at night, 9:30pm! I think 8-8:30pm would be better? The stage curtain could do with some attention too! There were a few solo travellers too which was nice to see. However i barely spoke to anyone throughout the week and felt a little isolated at times. This was because there was a bit of a language barrier. I did find it hard to tell who spoke the same language, but that’s just me. Maybe because of the time of year i chose to go on holiday. I must stress this did not spoil the holiday for me but if you were a solo traveller hoping to speak to other people, it maybe something to bear in mind. I did my own excursions via the Get Your Guide App which worked very well as the hotel is a little isolated. The local town of Morro Jable was a few miles away. There is a shop, gym and spa area at the hotel too. Weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cold with plenty of sunshine! Overall i had a very nice stay and for what i payed would certainly recommend it!

Rooms ⭐☆☆☆☆ The room cleanliness was very poor. The balcony was never cleaned during our stay, despite several requests. Housekeeping was almost non-existent, and the air conditioning could not be adjusted properly. Overall, the room did not meet the standards expected from a 4-star hotel. Nearby Activities ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ The hotel is located in a quiet area and close to a beautiful beach. There are not many activities nearby, but the beach itself is definitely the highlight of the area. Safety ⭐☆☆☆☆ Security was a major concern. Anyone could enter and leave the hotel without any checks or supervision. It did not feel secure, especially for a hotel advertised as a 4-star property. The fact that the hotel offers extra insurance for valuables raises even more questions about security. Walkability ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ The location is peaceful and pleasant. However, access to the beach requires going down and back up many stairs. While the beach is worth it, it may be difficult for some guests. Food & Drinks ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ The buffet offered a decent variety of food, and we did not experience any food-related issues. However, the cleanliness of the dishes was unacceptable. Plates, glasses, cups, and cutlery were often dirty, had unpleasant odors, or were still wet. Finding clean tableware was often frustrating. On a positive note, the bartenders were very friendly and provided excellent service. Noteworthy Details ⭐⭐☆☆☆ The two female receptionists were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Unfortunately, some of the male reception staff during the evening were rude and dismissive when we asked for assistance. Additional charges were excessive: €10 deposit per beach towel. €1 fee for every towel replacement. €20 deposit for the safe. Optional insurance offered in case valuables were stolen. For a hotel advertised as 4 stars, the overall quality, cleanliness, maintenance, and service were far below expectations. In our opinion, this hotel does not even meet the standards of a 2-star hotel.

I’m still here and having a wonderful time! The hotel is wonderful and the food it so good. I read all the reviews just before I came and I was worried 😟 but from the moment I arrived I have had nothing but good experiences here. Staff are helpful. No robberies (if that changes I will come back on here to say so lol). Not sure why this hotel receives so many negative reviews, don’t understand it at all.

The first impression when we arrived was very bad; the photos were taken 60 years ago when the hotel was built. The hotel smells like urine, and they don't clean the rooms—only turn the sheets inside out. The food is only pork and chicken, and the desserts are always the same; after 3 days, you get tired of the same foods. The hotel seems to have no owner or manager and urgently needs a major renovation and a manager like me! The hotel has great potential to be the best on the entire island, but it needs a new manager. 98% of the people I talked to said they would never return here, which is a big disappointment for the owner! The air conditioning doesn't work, the entertainment is terrible, the kids quickly become discouraged, and there's no creativity at all. I would definitely make this hotel the best in the region, after a major renovation, of course!

Worst hotel I have been I am still here, it’s been 5 days and the food is horrible they only offering pork which I don’t eat chicken and same fish every meal each day the food gets worst Rooms are not well clean Hotel welcoming is bad you do not have someone to help with the bags Have in mind that you only pay for the view to take pictures Insects cockroaches you can see in your bedroom or outside Nothing that you see in pictures related to the hotel is real ont the outside view I still have few days here and I can’t wait to go
