A Hotel That Feels Like Home We’ve stayed at the Sheraton Fuerteventura Beach, Golf & Spa Hotel many times, but this year really sums up just how special the hotel has become to our family. We’ve already spent 49 nights here in 2026 as Platinum Elite members, 14 over Christmas, 10 over February half term, 10 over Easter and 15 over the summer. Yes, there are areas of the hotel that are starting to look a little tired, but honestly, that has never stopped us coming back. For us, the reason is simple: the people. From the moment we arrive, David gives us such a warm welcome, often with an orange juice, cava or water. It’s a small touch, but it immediately makes you feel looked after. Tom Dennis, second in command behind General Manager Jamie Santos, is quite simply one incredible human being. There doesn’t seem to be anything about the Sheraton, its rooms or its guests that Tom doesn’t know. He is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and multilingual, I’m not sure there’s a language he doesn’t speak! The Sheraton genuinely wouldn’t be the same without him. And Jamie clearly runs a great hotel. He expects high standards from his team, and those standards are obvious throughout the resort. Despite being the General Manager, he always makes a point of coming over to greet us and our family whenever we visit, and we always have a great catch-up. That personal touch means a lot. The staff really do feel like family At breakfast, Jeremiah is always incredibly friendly and welcoming, while Christian recognises us every time we return and always tells us how lovely it is to see us again. Every morning he makes sure we’re looked after. Then there’s Santiago, our coffee man! He remembers exactly what I drink and somehow often has my latte ready before I’ve even asked. And the little leaf he puts in the milk froth is a lovely personal touch. He’s another real asset to the hotel and a man of many talents. Around the pool, Gustavo, who looks after the pool area. He keeps everything absolutely spotless, and his dedication to his job is second to none. He is incredibly friendly and conscientious, and you can tell immediately that he takes enormous pride in what he does. The care and attention he puts into keeping the pool area looking immaculate really doesn’t go unnoticed. And Oscar, behind the towel desk, is an absolute gem. We often joke that he’s like the son we never had! His role may seem simple, but he puts his heart and soul into making sure guests are happy. Nothing seems too much trouble. Animation The animation team, headed by Alex, are another huge part of what makes this hotel special. Aaron, Olga, Tommy and Ione are all brilliant. We’ve particularly built a great friendship with Aaron, who treats us like family. He always gets us involved, makes us feel welcome and has such a great way of interacting with everyone. He genuinely wants people to enjoy themselves, and you can see that in the way he gets involved with the activities and makes sure everyone is having a good time. Olga and Tommy were brilliant during their cocktail class, funny, professional and creating an amazing atmosphere. And yes, the fact that we got to drink the cocktails afterwards was definitely a bonus! We’ve watched Ione grow over the last few years and come out of his shell. He’s now an absolute star. He does a lot of the football with the children and teenagers and clearly loves what he does. My son absolutely loves him, which says it all. And a huge thank you to Rebecca I have to give a massive kudos to Rebecca from housekeeping. Rebecca goes above and beyond. Her standards are exceptional, but it’s her warmth, friendliness and personality that really stand out. She has such a big heart, and you can see how much she genuinely adores our children and treats them almost like her own. When we visit and Rebecca isn’t looking after our floor, we genuinely miss her. That tells you everything. The refurbishment We’re actually quite sad that the hotel is closing for around seven months for its renovation, although we completely understand that it’s needed. As Platinum Elite members, we were lucky enough to see some of the pilot rooms for the new refurbishment, and we were genuinely thrilled. I was slightly worried that the hotel might go down the ultra-modern, minimalist route and lose some of the warmth and character that makes the Sheraton what it is. Thankfully, that doesn’t seem to be the case. The new design is modern and fresh while still retaining some of the warmth, colour and character of the existing hotel. In our opinion, they’ve struck a really good balance between old and new. We can’t wait to return and see the finished result. Our second home We’ve stayed at plenty of hotels in Fuerteventura, but the Sheraton has become our favourite. Not because it’s absolutely perfect, no hotel is but because of the people. We’re remembered. We’re welcomed. Our children are known by name. We have friendships here. We genuinely feel like part of the Sheraton family. That is incredibly difficult for a hotel to achieve, and it’s something Jamie and his team should be incredibly proud of. We’ll definitely be back. The Sheraton has become our second home, and it’s the people who make it that way.
My mother and I stayed at the Sheraton Fuerteventura from Sunday 27th September to celebrate my mum's 60th birthday. We first visited 11 years ago and were pleased to return, which makes this stay all the more disappointing. We did appreciate the kind gesture of a room upgrade. The main problem was the lack of notice about the hotel closing for refurbishment, with work starting on our checkout day. We only found out from a note sent to our room on Monday 28th, which told us to visit reception to discuss our options, as we had a later flight. When we spoke to reception, we were told to come back later because they hadn't worked out what would be happening yet, which felt rather contradictory. We were told we would have full use of the hotel facilities until 12pm on checkout day, but this wasn't possible. Sun loungers were already being stacked on Tuesday 29th, and by the morning of Thursday 1st they had all been stacked and wrapped, so there was nothing to use. On the Thursday we were relocated to the neighbouring hotel. Towels were included at the Sheraton, so we had none there, and we were told we would need to pay a deposit for them. We declined, and Pedro from the Sheraton management kindly fetched some for us, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the towels were threadbare and fraying at the edges. On our checkout day we also felt very rushed out. Refurbishment work had already begun by the time we went down for breakfast, with furniture from a number of rooms placed outside ready for the renovations. It certainly didn't make us feel welcome. I appreciate guest numbers were limited, but the food choice was restricted too. If work was due to start on the Thursday, we should never have been able to book to check out on that day. Overall, the stay didn't match our expectations. I'd advise anyone considering booking to check the refurbishment dates first.
Have just returned from 9 days at Sheraton lovely hotel yes does need updating but all in hand the standards were still all good and the staff lovely😀 My only real disappointment -I thought booking a higher standard hotel I would not have to worry getting About getting a sunbed with shade this did not happen People still put their towels on beds and disappear Very selfish
First of all, I’m going to hop straight over the fact that the hotel looks a bit tired and dated as it closes next week for a major refurbishment! The important stuff to note is that this hotel’s success doesn’t lie in the quality of its carpets but rather in the quality of its staff. This is our third visit and we were not disappointed. Although we didn’t get the same upgraded room as last year, our room and balcony were spacious and comfortable and kept beautifully clean. We ate onsite at La Veranda, El Faro and wok n Zen, and the food and service were excellent. Breakfast is varied and plentiful and doesn’t feel overcrowded even when busy. Drinks in the bar at night are accompanied by live music which is always a treat although the talent on offer is of differing standards! It really is the staff that makes the experience here a five star resort and I want to take this opportunity to recognise Aaron and Ione from the animation team who work hard every day to provide entertaining pastimes and encourage a really social environment. Special thanks also to Max for looking after us in the bar and Willy in the restaurants. We will be back when the hotel reopens and we’re looking forward to seeing the results of the overhaul, I hope it retains its charm however and that the staff return as part of the package!
i can’t say enough good things about this place what a amazing hotel we will definitely return the food has been amazing the staff absolutely fantastic and the room top quality 5 stars from me ❤️
