Hotel LIVVO Valle Taurito

Summary - Livvo Valle Taurito. The reviews aren’t too far off with this one. We went as a family of 5, 2 adults 3 children age 21, 11,11. So we have 2 rooms. All inclusive for 7 nights in August. Location is quite isolated. Although there is decent public transport. Hotel is fine. But dated but clean and staff were good. Food is very much average at best. Limited and no accounting for dietary requirements or restrictions. Hotel - The hotel was nice enough. Not sure 4 star is quite accurate though. I would put it more a 3 at best. It was clean, spacious and the staff were nice. Entertainment- poor! Very poor. The entertainment started at 8:30 in the evening. Even for the children. Food and Drink - The all inclusive alcoholic drinks were very limited! And the cocktails didn’t even seem to have an alcohol in them. Kids drinks / soft drinks were decent though. Snacks - poor! There was a rotation of hot dogs or burgers which were pretty awful. There was salad bits and fruit. And on occasion so dry cake. It also seemed like they were serving the children cocktails which was slightly worrying. All inclusive food - probably my biggest issue (apart from the location) One of my children is a very difficult eater. And I am a vegetarian. Whilst that is out of the control of the hotel, I thought the food options would be better. The choice was very limited to say the least. And the quality was poor. My daughter only ate rice and bread for her lunch and dinner (she is an problematic eater and that’s not the hotels fault but it was very difficult to have her eat anything) we had to top up at the local supermarket so she did eat something. I found the non meat options pretty awful. I ate predominantly salad and veg. Which was fine but certainly not the 4 star all inclusive level I would have expected. Good luck to anyone who has more significant dietary restrictions or allergies. Pool - the pool area is nice, quite deep but clean and tidy. But the towel situation was terrible. People were leaving their towels out the night before. Which meant that all the beds around the pool were taken before we even went down for breakfast. Madness. The lifeguard was very disengaged. Not really sure what the point of them were. Rooms - 1 family room and 1 sole occupancy double room Family room - It was clean, and big enough. Had a nice view of the sea. Our 11 year old twins are boy + girl. So the bed situation wasn’t great. There was 2 single beds pushed together to make a double for the adults. But it was a double sofa bed for the children. This wasn’t great for us. The children really didn’t want to share a bed but staff were unable to provide an alternative. Room 2 - sole occupancy double was fine enough. Next door which was convenient for us as a family. However, one evening, there was someone who decided to bang on the 21 year old daughter room (where she was alone) frightening her. As a single woman it really wasn’t very good. Thankfully it was a one off and we didn’t bring it to the staffs attention. Water park - this was a saving grace. As it’s included it was very helpful. Clean enough. Not massively busy, even during peak season. The water is really deep in parts though. The food and drink there isn’t included in the all inclusive but they were more than happy to leave the towels on the chairs and go get food from the hotel and return once eaten. You can’t take food or drink over to the water park front the hotel. But you can take food and drink in like a picnic or something. Location - My biggest issue. The hotel and others are located in what I can only describe as a canyon. The entertainment plaza and water park on the middle of multiple hotels. There is access to a beach but the beach is filthy and the waves as quite high so not suitable to you get chosen. We don’t spend a great deal of time on the beach. However, would recommend watching the sun set there as it’s beautiful. I assumed, wrongly, that because there was direct beach access there would be places to walk from the hotel but there wasn’t. You are completed stuck (unless you taxi or public transport) This, for us, wasn’t good. We like an evening walk along a beach or promenade but we couldn’t as there wasn’t no where to go. All in all, I wouldn’t go back to this location. For a number of reasons. Having left to go to Mogan and Purto Rico on excursions, I would choose to stay in Purto Rico or Amadores (I think that’s the spelling) as they seem to have a bit more life and facilities for families.

Overall we had a nice holiday here but some things need a little attention. Positives...Lovely location. Staff are friendly, hotel itself is very clean, rooms are clean (you can choose on arrival which days, we choose daily) and spacious. Food is ok, always found something to eat. Plenty of shops nearby. Beach and other restaurants only a short walk. Bus to Peurto Rico only takes 10 mins. Negatives...Snack bar food isn't great. Some parts of the hotel could do with updating. Only 1 lift working most of the time we were there so this took forever. All those in our group that went to the water park only went once, they said the salt water was horrible. No inflatables allowed in the pool. Top tips - 1, don't put your door card near your phone! 2, get over to the evening entertainment early not enough benches. Don't be put off by the 1 star reviews. I was worried after reading them but we had a nice holiday here :)

Just back from a 1 week stay and we had a lovely time - I think a lot of the other reviews are harsh. Check in was quick and room ready upon arrival at lunch time. Yes one of the lifts is currently out of order but we managed to get in the other one quickly and make it up to our 6th floor room. Room was spacious and clean - no issues whatsoever. We were very happy with the food - plenty of choice at every meal - they really have thought of everything and very flavoursome. Kids enjoyed pizzas and multiple varieties of pasta. Not that many staff but no issues and they were all polite and welcoming. Enjoyed pool - quite busy as it is peak summer but not an issue. Always got a sunbed at the back part by the small baby pool which suited us just fine. People are putting towels out before 7am at the main pool - nothing new to anywhere else! Snack bar had burgers/hot dogs on alternative. And fruit etc. All good for us and kids can get small pots of ice cream. Water park water was salty but did not bother us - again always managed a sun bed and kids enjoyed. Beach just a short walk away. Entertainment was fine - enjoyed the circus type performers and Grease show. Difficult to get a seat sometimes as a shared area with other Livvo's and the benches are a little hard on your back side, but we coped! Did not leave the resort all week - we were here for relaxing mainly and we didn't get bored. Transfer on the way there was only 30 mins as everyone on coach was going to this hotel. On way back to airport 90mins plus as multiple pick ups so it could be as much as that on the way. Enjoyed this resort Overall good vfm and a brilliant holiday!

I’ll start with the positives… The staff are genuinely lovely and helpful, speak very good English and go out of their way to help in any ways. The location of the hotel is also good, lots of shops, some restaurants on the beach if you fancy going out and the beach is quiet. The pool also isn’t busy even when the hotel is full and we always got a sun bed. Now the less positives: The lift, singular, the second lift has been broken since before we arrived which meant the entire hotel is using a single lift which is the slowest lift ever. You can be waiting 5 minutes for it to arrive from 4 floors away. The room is nice, nothing amazing but the bathroom is sub standard, felt more like a 2 star bathroom. Our shower screen leaked and flooded the bathroom every shower, I reported it and it wasn’t resolved but you can see from the pictures it’s been happening a while and nothing is being done about it. The wall need tarting up. Now my biggest issue is the title of all inclusive. The three main meals are included correct but outside of that, no children’s drinks available except water or fizzy drinks, the children’s basic ice creams are behind the bar and the snacks are the same every day with no fruit. Ironically there are more signs about the hotel being cashless than there are choices of drinks included on the all-inclusive. We come to all inclusive so the kids don’t need us to get them everything but this holiday we have to get them everything. To summarise, I wouldn’t come back and I think 4* hotel rating is generous as the place feels dated and the all inclusive is probably the worst we’ve stayed at.

We've been staying at the Valle Taurito hotel for 9nights. Lovely hotel, clean , friendly staff with it being true to pictures. Food was really good and although not a huge selection plenty to choose from daily with different theme dishes . Pool is lovely no hassle with sun loungers unless you wanted right by pool. Pool is lovely would say it could be bigger with more room to swim when busy with lots families but definitely didn't put me off hotel . We kept busy with lots choice entertainment in evenings . The hotel is spilt into two halves Valle and Livvo with entertainment in middle . Amusements with bowling alley, trampolines, go karts to keep kids entertained all reasonable prices. My children also tried VR lounge and crazy golf again reasonable price. Pool tables and ping pong is in hotel as well One morning I treated myself to spa next to hotel. I had a lovely back massage followed by use of spa facilities afterwards. Good selection of shops around the Valle and beach with shops & bars too . We also got the local bus into Puerto Rico one day very cheap to use and friendly driver so easy to locate and use . Overall loved the hotel perfect for our holiday aims this year and I definitely recommend it .
