THB Royal

A completely fake 4-star hotel. Dangerous, filthy, and rude. Rating: 1/5 Stars Do not fall into the trap. THB Royal in Lanzarote is completely deceiving online; it struggles to meet a basic 2-star standard. The Rooms are a Safety Hazard: Outdated, dirty, and falling apart. We were shocked to find exposed, unsecured, and highly dangerous electrical wiring left out in plain sight. The safe was unsecured, the doors were smashed up, and the window tracks were caked in thick rust and debris. Appalling Service: The reception staff are a joke. The check-in agent was rude, impatient, and patronizing. When we begged for a room change, the next clerk barely holding his laugh, didn't get why. The second room was just as filthy as the first. Dirty Amenities: Both pools were full of rubbish sitting at the bottom of the water. Isolated Location: It is located miles away from the beach, the town center, and everything else. The Food: Fortunately, we didn't book any meal options—which turned out to be the smartest decision of the whole trip given how poorly the rest of the hotel is managed. Save your money and peace of mind. Avoid this place entirely.

The hotel in my opinion is a 3* , having stayed at many 4* hotels in the canaries, this was not that standard. Rooms were large, clean and there was maid service most days. The whole place was peaceful and calm, very quiet with virtually no entertainment - not ideal in half term. If you have children, note the only entertainment is in summer hols. Our room was 409, noisey as on a busy road and I didn’t like the fact the only entrance was through patio doors - which led to the maid walking in before 8 am on our final day, questioning me loudly about my check out time. My child could’ve been sleeping and I didn’t appreciate the intrusion so early when I was half clothed. There were no ‘do not Disturb’ signs available. As per previous reviews the pool turned our swimwear yellowy/green which is unacceptable and we’ve had to throw them all away. The food was the greatest disappointment and even though we were half board we paid to eat out several times. I found a stone in my salad which almost broke a tooth, I complained but there was no manager, I was sent to the chef. He just said ‘sorry’ at which point another guest came over to say he had experienced the same. One night my dessert (a cake) was frozen. Choices were limited, at times just two things. My daughter had pizza every night we were there as no other kids options. I would not return

Hotel has two pools and room are set across two floors all with either balcony or patio. One large bedroom with a sofa bed in the lounge area. Nice clean and light furnishings. Tv in both rooms with limited channels ( bbc/itv film four and news). Air con strangely only in the lounge but wasn’t an issue. Weather in October was a fabulous 28 degrees. Bathroom is large with all the usual amenities. Grounds are really well tended and this gives a feeling of privacy and tranquility. If you want/need entertainment this isn’t the place for you - we loved the calm . Bit of music from the bar during the day but you can still read so not too loud. No animation team which was a real bonus. We went bed and breakfast and upgraded to half board which included wine and beer. Simple buffet style always something fresh to eat. Excellent value. The location about 8 mins walk to the beautiful beach ( with bar) another 10 mins along the seafront to our other favourite place the Galleria bar with its views across the bay. We live Playa Blanca and can’t wait to return.

Great hotel. Spotless, rooms cleaned 6/7 days. We were on half board and the food was plentiful and of a good standard. You also get beer / wine at dinner. Rooms are modern and up to date with everything you need. Staff are friendly and hard working. Slight downside is the pool is cold, but they all are in Playa Blanca and there isn’t much to do after dinner. You are also a 15 minutes walk from the front and bars etc. Tip - if you are a light sleeper ask for a room away from the road. Overall a great stay.

Great experience start to finish! Very clean accommodation! Not 4 star more 3 star but thats not an issue. 6 days a week cleaning your rooms. Recommend the half board option! Food quality great! Lots of variety and drinks included in dinner option too! I paid £95 upgrade for the half board including breakfast for the week! No brainer! Great location too. Would definitely return.
