TL;DR: we went in the October and would happily go back and I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. The location is great; about 20 minutes walk from the main playa Blanca beach with playa flamingo beach just meters from the hotel (more on the beach later). There are beautiful walks/cycles in each direction from the hotel and a handful of supermarkets bars and restaurants next to the hotel on the beach front. The apartments are a good size and well left out with a nice sun terrace. The kitchen was well equipped but we were all inclusive so we only used the fridge! The apartments are a little bit tired and could use a refurb nothing too obvious or problematic just a little bit rough round the edges in places. I would note the beds were not super comfortable. The all inclusive food was probably the best I’ve had in the Canary Islands at this price point. The snack bar (always the weakest part of an all inclusive) was better than most with fresh salads and good hot options like baked potatoes. Breakfast was superb and Dinner always had something really nice. The desserts (cakes) were fab! There are multiple pools; again a little maintenance required (missing tiles) but nothing problematic. The main pool was busy but fun and you could generally get sun loungers at the pools at any time. The weakest part was the evening entertainment. The kids show went on until after 9 and the bar started to close around 10:45. I was travelling with my wife and teenager (surly 15yo) so Disney medleys were “not the vibe”. This would have been ok if there was somewhere else we could have gone but the bar with the kids entertainment was the only game in town after dinner. Keeping the bar at the snack bar open would have resolved this by providing an alternative (quiet) place to have a post dinner drink with some nice views. *Playa flamingo - the beach is nice but there is a man made cove that makes the water slightly murky. The water outside the cove is crystal clear but the water at the beach…not so much. There are “steps” to the left of the cove that leads to the open sea and the water here is beautiful and it’s great for snorkelling. However, the entry to the sea is over rocks which are *treacherously slippy when wet*
First time in Lanzarote, all the other islands visited, and chose the Flamingo beach. It is not a four star as advertised but is better than the two star given elsewhere. For a family with children this hotel is perfect with everything on hand for children. Our apartment was very good if slightly dated but having plenty of room and a small kitchen and if you like us take the upper apartment you get a spacious private balcony which is not overlooked. The site is large and you can escape the noise and activities around the main pool and have no problem getting a sun lounger near the quiet pool. Drawbacks for us was the canteen feel in the dining room, nothing much wrong with the food, and the lack of a lounge somewhere where you could sit for a quiet drink during the day. Good walking along the beautiful laid out promenade and the trip into the fire mountains was really good.
Great situation and we had a nice suite (although I would have expected a double bed rather than two singles (made up as singles) pushed together. The food was adequate, but dining room had a canteen feel about it. No lounge for daytime or pre-dinner drinks. It's definitely a family hotel - great for families with young children. Decent value, but would only recommend it to families.
Was nice hotel and the Tui blue team were great as always We went all inclusive and the food and drinks are what you expect food was a bit repetitive but was always fresh and tasty Rooms are in need of a bit of freshening up paint peeling and bit dated but still clean and maids come every day apart from 1 day Beach is very close but like all this resort it is very hilly and lots of steps so if like us you have a disabled guest maybe just see if there is another tui blue somewhere else as my wife struggled with the hills and steps Apart from the accessible part it was a good holiday and would recommend
Need renovation all over the resort, outdoor and indoor. Room was heavily worn out and should have been maintained much better, exact same story from others travellers. Drains in kitchen and bath unable to remove water when in use = floating all over and smelly. Drain problems are apparently a problem all over the resort, especially around the pool where most drains aren’t working properly leading to smell and the water running back into the pool when raining. Buffet food is of very poor quality and not as expected as a Scandinavian. Mostly cakes, sweets rather than fresh fruit and proper vegetables. Inside the buffet the noise is insane, seen many people wearing headphones to reduce the noice. Light is like a dental clinic, which just shows the lack of deep cleaning. The water/soda stations hardly work, if at all. Sometimes only one working for a full resort, the same problem applies the pool bar. Music blasting out some broken speakers by the pool area, forget about a second of peace. If it wasn’t for the beach nearby, we would have check out, but for some reason we managed to find some fun in this shinking ship of a hotel. Staff is friendly and kind. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, Scandinavians stay away.
