Botanico & The Oriental Spa Garden

The hotel has a quiet air of tranquility about it that is so relaxing. The staff are superb, from lobby porters to waiting staff, reception, spa staff and cleaners and they really take pride in their work. The adults only outdoor spa area pool is a beautiful spot to chill out. The gardens are a beautiful addition. The food and drinks are good. They are more expensive than bars in town but you would expect that. The only slight drawback is the lack of soundproofing between rooms next door and the corridor but that is a hard fix owing to it being infrastructure. They’d have to close to fix. Most guests are respectful and quiet out of hours anyway. A fantastic hotel that I would thoroughly recommend.

I have traveled extensively and stayed at many wonderful places, but this hotel truly deserves a special mention. It is easily one of the best hotels on my list! First, the staff are incredibly welcoming and make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Second, the interior design and decorations are absolutely beautiful, unique and full of character. Every level has its own thoughtfully decorated lobby, and every sculpture, detail and decorative element feels carefully chosen. You can tell that a lot of thought and creativity went into creating this place. And the garden… absolutely breathtaking! We loved walking through it and discovering all its beautiful details. Our room also had an amazing mountain view. Sitting back and admiring the mountains during the day and looking at the stars at night was truly special. There is something very unique about this hotel. It is not just a place to stay; it is a place to experience and enjoy. We had such a wonderful time here and only wished we had booked a longer stay.

Just spent a relaxing four nights at Hotel Botánico. The hotel feels spacious inside and there is an incredible sense of peace and calm everywhere you go. All the public areas are very well maintained with lots of interesting art and sculptures, plus the aviary and the jellyfish! The gardens are also very well kept and beautiful to stroll around. A range of activities are available…swimming, pitch and putt, tennis and a timetable of other things such as wine and cheese tasting, flower arranging etc. The spa garden is even more tranquil and there are a variety of facilities to experience included in your stay as well as an extensive treatment menu. It seemed like the Turkish Steam Bath wasn’t working properly but the Aromatherapy room and the jacuzzi in the cave were lovely! The hotel puts on a free shuttle bus service into Puerto de la Cruz which is handy. It doesn’t run on Sundays and the last bus back to the hotel is 19.40 but if you don’t want to make the uphill walk, a taxi costs around €6. There is a wide selection of food available for breakfast served from 7.30-10.30am: cereals, pastries and cakes, fruit, yoghurt, juices, cava, fish, salads, vegetables, cheeses, meats, pancakes, waffles, egg station etc. We ate in one of the restaurants on the first night and on the whole it was good although possibly not worth the price as some of the food was a little disappointing and we had to wait a long time for my daughter’s dessert. However, I really enjoyed my octopus and steak and the red wine was delicious. The bedrooms are spacious and very well equipped. The real bonus for us was that a family room within the hotel was actually 2 interlocking double rooms. This was perfect for us travelling with our 12 year old. The staff and the little touches really make Hotel Botanico stand out. Antonio takes genuine pride and care in his work and makes sure everything is just right for you. There is a waiter at Palmera Real, black hair and glasses but don’t know his name, who was really accommodating, friendly and professional. The same goes for the pool guy who really kept his eye on things and ensures everyone’s comfort. Finally, the housekeeping staff seem to work non stop doing and do a fantastic job!

A luxury hotel indeed. Everything was wonderful: the check-in process, free parking, amenities with heated pools, friendly and helpful staff, on-site restaurants, beautifully maintained garden, comfortable bed and spacious room. We would definitely return to this hotel. The value you get from this hotel is 100% worth it. I highly recommend staying at this hotel.
