All was amazing until today! .....yesterday we were ready to book to come back next year as staff, food, pools and location were amazing and matched that of our previous gold stay. However this morning we could not open our room safe with purse, wallets and passports inside. This was immediately reported to reception who said someone would come up.......an hour later nothing! We went to same receptionist who very unhelpful said she did not know when this could be sorted and made no effort to call help. Later I spoke with a lovely very helpful manager who immediately called help! Two very kind men spent 40 minutes trying to get into our safe, eventually using a manual key! Batteries and contacts were broken and safe needed replaced! We were so relieved to get our belongings out but received no apologies from hotel for the very stressful morning or the very unhelpful receptionist. We are so grateful to the loveky manager I spoke to and fabulous men who finally broken it open. We still may return but this caused a stressful day on our lovely time at gran tacande.

Stayed for a week in September half board. Lovely hotel with three pools, including one which is an infinity. Watch out - cracked glass in some panels adjacent to this pool which looked extremely dangerous with people sunbathing on loungers underneath. This was reported and hopefully these will be replaced. This is one of the older hotels in this area of Tenerife, decor is a little dated but very clean. Rooms nice although I asked for a sea/pool view when booking, the hotel were unaware of this so no view other than a wall which was disappointing. Food excellent and buffet style with lots of food cooked whilst you waited, even had oysters, chocolate fountain and Cava for breakfast. Eating outside was lovely with very few bugs about so no bites. Staff very friendly, although another watch out maids and maintenance would just knock and walk in to your room which is not great. No waiting for you to answer the door. Two great shopping centres 2 minutes walk - one situated underneath the hotel. Hotel seemed quiet with very few children. I would say it is not for kids as nothing for them to do. Probably wouldn’t go back as I believe there are more modern hotels in the area at similar prices

This was our first time staying at this hotel. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here. We chose the hotel for its location: near Del Duque Beach, but still within walking distance of central Costa Adeje. The hotel was spotless and well maintained. Our room had an open-plan bathroom area. No bath, although we wouldn’t have used one anyway. The toilet was fully enclosed and private. We were disappointed by the lack of hanging space and drawers. The space could be much better organised; I had to keep a lot of clothes in my case. We chose a swim-up room, but we’re not sure we'd choose it again. It was largely in the shade, and we couldn’t get our swimwear or towels completely dry. There was only one lounger on our patio, so we had to bring a chair from inside so that we could both sit outside. I heard from other guests that the hotel keeps the best rooms for those who book directly. The San Sebastien Plaza was nice, with a good view of the ocean. Plenty of sun loungers, no rush for a bed. The infinity pool wasn't that big, but it had jacuzzi-type jets and was adequate. The waiting staff provided great service. Drink options were soft drinks, beer, and a small cocktail of the day. Our room wasn’t on the main Gold Level plaza area and we couldn’t access our complimentary drinks from the main pool bar. The main swimming pools were much nicer, big enough for a decent swim, and always kept immaculate, with the pool boy out every morning maintaining them. The areas around the main pool had plenty of loungers, and the waiters again were great. The spa looked impressive, but it was little more than a few jacuzzi-style pools, a swimming pool, and a sauna and steam room. It was nice, but nothing special. The massages were very expensive, so I ended up having an excellent full-body massage from a masseuse on the beach for much less. We liked the gym. It was well equipped and air-conditioned, with water and towels available. We stayed on a bed-and-breakfast basis and didn’t try the evening buffet or restaurants. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice, and we could have had something different every day. There were a few minor issues: service could be a little disorganised when it was busy, and we sometimes had to ask more than once for coffee. Another toaster would also help, as busy periods led to queues and the bread often needed a second cycle. The hotel staff were lovely, and we couldn’t fault them. A special mention goes to the animation team member whose name we didn’t catch; we thoroughly enjoyed his stretching and aqua-fit sessions. Verdict: We will return to this hotel because it ticks all our boxes, especially for its location. However, we wouldn’t choose Gold Level again, as we didn’t feel it was worth the extra cost and had expected better.
