Landmar Costa Los Gigantes Family Resort

Our 6th visit. Still good but not quite as good as it has been previously. Staff are generally excellent. Friendly and helpful. Room not ready at time of check-in. This would be fine ordinarily but annoying when I was told any late check-out of the room is chargeable, even for an hour. Food standards are still good but have dropped from our point of view as vegetarians. There used to be a vegan corner. This is now gone. Most days there were still various choices and I ate well but there were a few notable exceptions where choices were somewhat lacking. Bar staff are great. Room maintenance doesn’t seem perfect. Our power socket came away from the wall and the room could do with a refurb. But cleaners were good. Weird smell of sewage near the main pool. You’ll see this mentioned in other reviews. It is gross when it is there. I feel like it comes and goes throughout the day but ideally it wouldn’t be there at all! Bizarrely, some people stole our pool towels. Not happened before on any holiday and clearly not the fault of the hotel. But does make you feel concerned about safety of your property. Not sure there is anything the hotel can do about such things. The soft play has gone from the kids area, replaced by a pirate ship. Our kids said they had preferred the soft play but one of them did get injured on the soft play when we were last here - smashing her face into an inadequately cushioned barrier next to the trampoline sections. I think the pirate ship is maybe better overall? A final point to management - please fix the big LED screen in the theatre. It was broken when we were here 6 months ago and I was astonished to find it still broken. The evening shows and mini disco really suffer from its absence. If you aren’t going to fix it due to cost then replace it with a rear projection screen (or similar) but the current situation is inadequate. After 6 visits, I’m not sure we will be returning…. Maybe… but it used to be a definite. Again, the staff are great and are the biggest asset to this resort. Some investment in the rooms and general maintenance would go a long way. And sorting out the sewage smell.

My family and I came to this hotel for one week in September 2026. The hotel is around a 30-40 minute transfer from the airport, dependant on pick ups / drop offs. The hotel destination is in quite a scenic location, the nearest town is around a 20 minute walk away, it is a downhill walk to the town and is quite a big gradient, however, there are plenty of taxis and it cost ~€5 euros to get there. We checked in around 8:30pm, the staff on reception were pleasant and took the time to explain where we needed to go. We had an Ocean View Suite, it was clean and presentable, the only downside I noticed with the room was that the 'double bed' was two single beds and they could easily be moved when turning over, that being said, my wife and I actually enjoyed having our own separate duvets! In terms of food and drink the buffet, in my opinion, was one of the best I've been to. I would class myself as a semi-fussy eater but this is one of the first times I've been to an all inclusive buffet and left feeling full. There is a wide range of food with a different theme every night. There are two A la carte restaurants, the menus aren't huge but a decent variety. The staff at both the buffet and A la carte would polite and attentive, I personally did not have any negative experiences with staff. There are two snacks bars, one is a small hut which serves burgers, hot dogs, chips and sandwiches. The second is larger with seating and this provided pizzas, salads, meats & cheese and it also has a BBQ which provided freshly cooked burgers and hot dogs. For drinks, there is one main inside bar which has self serviced soft drinks and beer, you could then get cocktails etc from staff at the bar. There is a manned pool bar next to one of the pools but you can also get self service soft drinks, beer and slushies here too. There is then a self service drinks area next to the other pool but there is no manned bar for this one. Moving onto the pools, these were the best pools we've been in. They were not freezing unlike other hotels we've been to and my 6 year old spent nearly all day every day in the pool. They were kept clean and I personally had no issues with the cleanliness of them. Infact I felt the staff were on top of cleanliness in the hotel and worked hard to keep things clean and tidy. Another feature of the pool area is the 'Bali beds', there are 8 Bali beds available for hire, you have to purchase a package to hire one with the cheapest being €45, this package was a selection of sandwich and 4 beers, however, you then get the bed for the entire day, they are very comfortable and you are segregated from the other pool users and they have lovely sea views. I would recommend this hotel for families rather than adults travellers and I personally had one of the best holidays I've had here and would actively look to rebook at this hotel.

Booked to stay with this hotel via Jet2Holidays. When booking we wondered how an earth this place wasn’t 5* - looks immaculate in the photo’s and also had amazing reviews. (Must be paid reviews) We arrived at the hotel having been travelling since 3am that morning (not the fault of the hotel) to find that we could not check into our room until 3pm - this was not advised anywhere in our booking. With a very tired toddler you can imagine the difficulties we faced due to this issue. Reception staff were very blunt, not very welcoming or sympathetic. Having experienced many holidays to Tenerife this is the first time I haven’t been able to access my room on arrival. When we finally did get access to the room it was of poor quality - a lot of broken items in the room couple of those being electrical and unsafe with a toddler in the room. Made a complaint to the Jet 2 rep who advised would speak with the hotel to try to rectify the issue. Only to be given 2 options - 1 being a lower down room essentially a downgrade as we had paid for an Ocean View Suite for the same price point. The second option being that we confirm with the hotel at 11am the following day if we wish to change rooms (why wouldn’t we) - check out of our current room by 12pm and wait for our new room to be ready for approximately 3pm. Which is completely unsuitable for a family with a toddler - let alone the complete inconvenience this is to cause us as a family for the best part of the day - a day waste that we have paid good money for. On top of this the food caused all three of us immediate stomach upset. Having been advised this was not an issue in the hotel. When accessing the public toilets around the hotel every one of them had a sign stating if you have Diarrhoea do not swim in the pools. - I think this proves the hotel has frequent issues with this. The hotel stinks of sewage all around especially in the rooms, at the pool snack bar and the pool bar. This makes it very off putting when even trying to get a drink let alone attempt to make yourself some of there awful food they have on offer. A lot of the other guest were also complaining of the smell when round the pool. The customer service lacked in all areas at every restaurant- we tried both of the A La Carte restaurants - essentially the exact same food provided in the buffet just thrown on a grill or reheated in a pan. The only thing cooked different was the pizza where they had a pizza oven so I would suggest picking that if you fancy something different. The staff were very rude need a course in basic customer service, how to take orders and build a positive relationship with customers. We were prepared to tip the waiters but decided against it due to the rudeness. The all inclusive buffet is run by what I can only describe as an ex military personnel whose main objective is to ensure no enjoyment is had by customers or staff. Having had 5 adult guests at the table one guest collected a bottle of the all inclusive wine to fill up all of our glasses - as you can imagine 5 adults 1 bottle this wine did not go far. For the military man to march on over grab the bottle and berate us like naughty children and then tell a staff member off also for allowing the wine to be taken. We have done this as a family at previous all inclusive hotels and never been met by this kind of response. The location of this hotel is in an awful place if you have young children I wouldn’t give it a second thought. Everything is a steep unsafe walk away, pushing prams even down the hills is so dangerous and not mentioned in the description, gives the impression of having beach access but this is not the case. The hotel staff themselves will advise you to get taxis everywhere. They do have a store inside the hotel but this is priced extortionately high to take advantage of guests. A packet of Haribo being €4.50-5. Overall I cannot say one good thing about this place - lack of customer service - lack of quality - a completely catfish of a hotel - you can find far better hotels for far cheaper. If I can prevent even 1 person from making the same mistake I did by booking this place I will be happy. Place needs a complete refurbishment - oh and not to mention the many many cockroaches around the hotel, in the restaurants and rooms. Place needs fumigating.

We booked this hotel via jet2, me my partner and 3 year old son and also her side of the family. It looked top dog through the website and the socials including TikTok. So I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels in my life some fantastic some mediocre and some not so good but this place takes bottom of the list, I think I would rather be back in my patrol base compound In Afghanistan than go back here. The staff are rude, the food is terrible and I’m not very picky. The rooms are dated, falling apart with the air con making you feel poorly by day 2. The pool areas smell like fried crap being cooked up in the sewers to which it is coming up through the grids. The hotel itself is built on what looks like San Francisco with nothing about to eat or corner shops unless you go right down to the bottom where the beach is but have to get a taxi back. It’s like a green house inside, no air con but maybe that’s a good thing as it only makes you feel like you’re dying anyway in your room. The place needs a huge renovation or in my opinion knocking down. Tried to change rooms, but they wanted us to check out at 11 then go sit with our cases again till 3 to check in again jsut so they could get someone else in. I’m sorry I didn’t realise I was about you and getting someone else in to get more money! They make out it’s quite premium drinks ect turns out I couldn’t even speak the next day after having a few of there so called premium drinks. It stinks it’s a dump and I want be returning! Peace out
