I initially decided to go with 3/5 because it wasn't great, it wasn't terrible. Landmar Costa Los Gigantes advertises itself as very family oriented and in a way it is but in my opinion it's family oriented when the family in question has older children. We visited with our 3 year old toddler and I found that there really isn't much to do for him. There is a playground and a splash park for toddlers and smaller kids but they are open for a very limited time. The Baby Club and any other toddler entertainment during the day is only doable if your kid speaks English or Spanish which is understandable and I didn't lower my overall score for it but that's just something to note. The kid's pool is very small and only has one small slide so we spent most of our time in the big pool but our kid's chances to splash around there by himself were very limited. The mini-disco for small kids was blasting music so loud that I struggled even as an adult and my kid just put his hands on his ears and left the building the second he had entered. Literally made our ears hurt. I can't imagine what a whole hour of that every single night might do to the hearing of small kids. If going to the arcade game area you should be careful with the games. Half of them take your money but the game doesn't start. Half of those that start end the game without giving you any tickets even though you should get them. Wear and tear is normal considering how much use those machines get but I think they should really try to maintain them more. The entertainment schedule is, in my opinion, teenager and adult oriented. The main "party" starts at 9 pm by which time many smaller kids are already in bed (many parents might argue but that is at least norm in where we live). And all in all it would be fine that a loud concert starts at 9 pm and lasts late into the night. But there is no soundproofing at all in the rooms. Whether it's hotel's own entertainment program, other guests going by into their rooms or some event happening outside of the hotel territory, you will hear the noise the same whether the windows and doors are closed or open. So it's very loud almost all the time. Again, it might be normal for many people but those who are used to quiet indoors, you'll have your eye twitching constantly. The room itself was very tidy and had verything one might need. Loved the layout of the suite- living room and bedroom are separated by the hallway and bathroom so when the kid is asleep in the next room, adults can still chill in the living room. There is also a lot of space indoors and a lot of storage capacity. The housekeeping did a wonderful job every time we put out the "Please clean" sign although none of the housekeeping we encountered, spoke any English so if you had any questions for them- Spanish only. Food was very good. There was a lot of variety so even the pickiest kids would find something to eat. Lots of fruit and veggies and I have never seen such a wonderful variety of juices (though I would call them moctails rather than juices since many seemed to be made from syrup). The dinner having a different theme every night was a fun and lovely touch as it gave variety to the foods. All in all I think it's a decent hotel and a good pick for those who want all inclusive package with fair enough of on site entertainment options but I truly feel that the way it is now it is much more suitable for kids 7+ and adults rather that very young children. But that is simply my opinion and I believe there are also many who feel otherwise.

We have just returned from another fantastic holiday at Landmar Costa Los Gigantes, and this was our second visit. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already looking forward to coming back next year! Overall, we were very happy with the hotel, the service and the facilities. We stayed in Building J. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and nicely maintained. Building J is a little further from the Trebol Pool, where we preferred to spend most of our time, but this was not a problem for us. The cleaning service was also very good. When we stayed here for the first time, the coffee capsules in the room were replaced when they ran out. Unfortunately, this time they were not replenished, which was a little disappointing. Apart from this small issue, everything in the room was great. The staff were excellent throughout our stay. A special mention must go to the team at The Sunset Bar, who were always very friendly and welcoming. When we arrived, we were greeted at reception by Fanni, who was extremely friendly, helpful and professional. She explained everything to us clearly and gave us all the information we needed, which was a great start to our holiday. The food selection was excellent, with plenty of choice, and we really enjoyed everything we tried. We also had the opportunity to try both the Bones Grill Restaurant and the Ciao Restaurant. The food was delicious in both restaurants and the service was first class. I would also like to give a special mention to the animation team. They were fantastic with the children and it was clear that they genuinely wanted them to have a great time. They were friendly, energetic and always making an effort to keep the children entertained. We also tried the spa during this stay. The lady working at reception was very friendly and helpful, but unfortunately we were disappointed with one aspect. We were not clearly informed that family access to the spa is from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and that if you leave for lunch, you cannot return to the spa afterwards. We went for lunch at around 12:30 and when we returned to the spa, we were told that we could no longer enter. This was quite disappointing, especially as this information had not been explained to us beforehand. We feel this could be communicated more clearly to guests when they use the spa. Apart from this, we had another wonderful holiday at Landmar Costa Los Gigantes. The hotel offers a great experience for families, the staff are friendly and helpful, the food is excellent and there is plenty to do. This was our second visit, and despite the few small points mentioned above, we had a fantastic time. We are already looking forward to returning next year! Thank you to all the staff for helping to make our holiday so enjoyable.

Check-in: We arrived to check in early evening and were given a warm welcome and a brief explanation of the hotel policies around towel hire (refundable deposit of €10 per towel), safe hire (€3 a day) and dining times. We were then pointed in the direction of our room but no offer of assistance, which in hindsight would have been appreciated as it was not easy to find (not very clear signage) and some distance to walk with heavy luggage, especially as the resort is built on a steep hillside. Accomodation: We had asked for a quiet room away from the main building and pool area, which was accomodated and appreciated. We were on ground floor Block O. Whilst we didnt hear the crowd noise from the main building/pool, the sound proofing in the room was very poor. This means that you can hear movement from the rooms above, people walking past talking and the traffic noise from the road directly outside of the resort. The aircon was great and worked well. Unfortunately we had problems with the hot water and had to call the maintenance team out twice. We had no hot water in the mornings, which meant a brisk cold shower. Even when it was fixed it was hit and miss. I suspect that the heating relies on some solar energy and if you are an early riser, you may not get hot water. We also expected a capsule coffee machine in our room, but apparently these are reserved for the Landi Rooms only. However, as our kettle was very dirty with black dirt on the element we requested a coffee machine on the first day. Unfortunately this didnt arrive so we had to request it twice again. We did then get a machine, but it was missing a part and so didnt work 🤦♀️. Back to reception we went and had to wait another day for a new coffee machine to appear. We returned to our room the following day to find the cleaner removing the machine, indicating that we werent allowed one in our room. When my husband tried to explain that we had requested it, using Google translate, the cleaner called through to reception to check. Luckily it was resolved. Our mini fridge also wasn't working properly and maintained was called out to fix it. Pools: As its a family hotel focused on fun and activities, the main pool area is very noisy with water games, slides and loud party music. The other pool is quieter, but still very busy. There is the usual rush of sunbed reserving in the mornings, so you have to be up early to get your preferred beds. Food/Drink: Whilst it is all inclusive and selection isnt bad, the soft drinks are from soda and slushy machines i.e. flat sugary drinks. Also, there is no fresh juice in the restaurants at any time. It is fruit squash! My husband said the beer and wine wasnt too bad, but there was a bad smell of stale spilt alcohol near the bar. The food in the buffet was varied and there was a different themed cuisine each night. The food was also labelled with ingredients which was useful for those with allergies. However, there was limited options for those with gluten allergies. The food in the snack bars and pool restaurant was basic pizza's, burgers, hotdogs, chips, paella and salads. The a la carte restaurants were not available for the first two days of arrival (even though I tried to book the minute we arrived). We therefore only ate a la carte 3 times. Out of the two (Bones and Ciao) we preferred the Italian. Great pizza and pasta! Overall, the food was good and varied but certainly dont expect fine dining. Entertainment: The entertainment team are a true asset to the hotel. Full of enthusiasm and really engaged with the kids. They put on a Halloween terror tunnel whilst we were there and were fantastic actors, really scary!! Whilst you can book the high rope climb it gets booked days in advance and you are only allowed one lap of the course when you do get on, which is over in less than 5 minutes. If I could suggest that you allow at least 2 laps to make it worth the wait! If you want to play tennis, you have to go across to the sister hotel Landmar Play La Arena, as there are no rackets for use at the Landmar Costa Los Gigantes even though there is a tennis court. Overall: A good family activity hotel, albeit a bit dated and tired looking, in need of some updating and repairs.
