Sol Arona Tenerife

We were at Sol Arona last week in August 2026. Lovely clean hotel, well spaced reception. we had a 1 bedroom room which was really lovely, spacious for 3 of us. Plenty of storage, again really clean. Staff are fantastic go out of their way for you. You ask for something and they are straight on it. Pool was good although i could see in the busy weeks it would be overcrowded as would the restaurent. Staff in small bar not welcoming or friendly in fact couldnt wait to get you out. Entertainment for kids was good on the whole but could have been better for all. The day we left i was taken ill suffering sickness etc. Did manage to get on plane after various medications. I have just recovered nearly 4 weeks on. I can only think it was the all inclusive or air conditioning. I have never felt so ill. Having said this i did enjoy the food could have been hotter though. Loads of shops, restaurents locally. Lovely walk down to beach. Short taxi drive to Costa Adeje and Las Americas. Some of family went to Siam Park had a great time but long waits for rides. Overall a great holiday and we would stay at Sol Arona again.

Me and my partner have just arrived home after a week stay all inclusive here. After seeing good reviews and photos we decided to book. On arrival the room was clean and tidy and the receptionists were lovely and were the whole stay. We went to the bar and were told that the only drinks on all inclusive was 3 cocktails, a house beer and a wine, no spirits or better choice of cocktails. Online it said that all of this was included when it wasn’t. The pool bar staff were unhelpful and slightly rude and the snack bar was awful with chips, and ham sandwiches every day, and burgers if you got there quick enough. the pool area was clean and heated on colder days, but was not enough sun loungers. My partner lost his vape in the bar in reception and went back to get it and it had been stolen. The food was terrible, the worst food i’ve ever had in a hotel, breakfast dinner and tea. All cold and nothing we liked so we had to eat out every single day. The cleaners were rude and barely cleaned anything, we had accidentally spilled fanta on the bed and it was absolutely soaked and she made the bed and did not change it, and when we asked her too please change one set of sheets she walked away saying she doesn’t understand any english what so ever. The beds were very uncomfy and the air con only went to the coldest setting on our last day, it went down 1 degree every day so the room was very warm. The entertainment was disappointing We wouldn’t stay here again, and after reading so so many good reviews and for what we paid i was quite shocked.

After previously visiting this hotel twice previously & the last time being absolutely dreadful - we thought we would give it the benefit of the doubt and give it another try after their ‘refurbishment’… unfortunately i don’t think we would return in a rush. The hotel visually looks a lot better with the lick of paint of pastel tones and overhaul of the rooms which were in dyer need of a makeover and added air con, as the last time we came - we were placed on the lower ground level with no room air con at all, which was greatly needed! New sun beds are much better than the old ones, they desperately need updating. We were on the 10th floor, lounge room and the room looked a lot better and more modernised. We personally would have preferred a television in the bedroom, but beggars can’t be choosers. The shower equipment was slightly hanging off the wall, which seemed a bit flimsy and dangerous.. but it was a constant struggle with the water. You would turn the shower on to scalding hot water, even when positioned on the cold side of the water chooser - quite fidley but got there in the end, but it did happen every time it was used - also the tap on the sink too, it would be positioned to the cold side yet scalding hot water would come out and you would have to keep flipping side to side to settle the water. Food main issue for us personally, such poor choices and quality, still! Not filling at all, some nights for tea we would enter the restaurant have a look and walk straight back out, we ate out most nights and just settled for breakfast. Everyday, you would walk around the reception area to the smell of drains and outside around the pool area and sun-bed terrace area to the awful smell of trash and a kind of sick smell, quite off putting. Really struggling, personally to comprehend how this hotel has a 4 star status when i compare it to another 4 star hotel in Las Americas - which is nowhere in comparison. There were a few plus points, the free safe in the room where many hotels you have to pay for, we didn’t mind the location at all, fridge in the room ( where our last visit had no fridge ) the sun-bed terrace is a nice quiet calm area away from the main pol area, the fact you can help yourself to drinks at the pool bar when being all inclusive. All in all, the hotel still has major flaws even with its make over, more of a mask over.

We just returned from our holiday and whilst hotel was recently refurbished and in good condition we have potential bed bug complaint which we are now proceeding with official complaint via jet2, we were not offered a change of room, positives are location, staff very friendly, restaurant food was good apart from breakfast no real choice for vegans.
