Riu Negril

My mate and I went to mid September 2026. We were greeted in the lobby by Bobby..the staff very professionally. We also were given drinks. The hotel is low rise (3 stories) which I like meaning that you don't need an elevator to get to and from. Access to the beach is easy, access to activities even easier. On day two, I started to get myself a nice massage after having a wonderful conversation with Stacy-Ann one of the masseuse. Stacy Ann had me feeling like a brand new penny with my deep tissue massage! Thank you!!! We did multiple activities and participated in the different restaurants. If we needed anything housekeeping took care of us. Even one of the housekeeping staff got us fruits off the tree every morning. Before the trip ended we were Uncle and Auntie! Lol. Some name to remember Rafael (manager) , Bobby (luggage transport), Garfield (breakfast bar)... Etc. All great staff. Another thing I like if I wanted to exchange my money it was in the lobby at a better price than the airport keep that in mind that's very important. We also had a chance to have dinner on the beach picking out our own crab and lobster absolutely delicious!!. The restaurants at Rio Negril Resort were also very good and they had an all white party the Thursday before we left which was fantastic. Tennis courts sadly were not there as depicted on the website. Both my man and I are avid tennis players. Also there was a healthy set of robust birds that would interrupt our breakfast every morning bye flying into the eating area. Overall 9/ 10 would recommend. The trip from the airport is about an hour and a half but I slept through it.

We are currently staying at RIU Negril with two other couples—six people in three rooms—and the restaurant reservation system has been one of the most frustrating parts of our vacation. RIU advertises a variety of restaurants, but actually getting into them is much more difficult than we expected. We were told reservations must be made through the app, which we initially had trouble even setting up without staff assistance. You cannot book for your arrival day or the next day, and reservations for later dates open after midnight. Different restaurants are also closed on different days. The biggest problem for us is that each room has to make its own reservation. There is no simple way for three rooms traveling together to make one reservation for six people or indicate that we want to sit together. That leaves everyone trying separately to get the same restaurant and time. We are on vacation—we shouldn’t have to stay up after midnight coordinating three phones and hoping all three couples can get matching reservations just so we can have dinner together. If RIU is going to advertise these restaurants as part of the all-inclusive experience, the reservation system should allow guests to choose their party size and link rooms traveling together. This system desperately needs improvement.

Great location right on the beach in Negril, rooms are nice we were in block 2 which was nice and quiet and not too far to walk to everything. Quiet pool is good for lazy afternoons after a morning on the beach. Food is abundant with many choices,we are both vegan and the vegan burger in the sports bar was delicious. The Italian restaurant made us a good vegan option and the main buffet has vegan cheese if you ask for it so we requested a vegan cheese pizza and there was always rice,pasta,salad and vegetables etc ,although surprisingly they don't t do a vegan spread only butter...The staff/server's etc weren't very aware of veganism and what it was only vegetarian however we had a great conversation with a knowledgeable Jackson who works in the sports bar what a nice man! We would not hesitate to return.

Why do you do this to me RIU..Every vist just gets better,and now I have to book again to come back ! What brings me back,is the amazing staff.Every single person that works at the hotel are a credit to the RIU brand,far to many to mention.From floating in the beautiful warm water to the amazing evening entertainment and eating far to much food,and far to many expresso martinis made by O Neil.Until the next time RIU Negril.

Having not visited Jamaica previously we opted to take our honeymoon at the hotel. From start to finish it was amazing. We were upgraded to a sea view room. Had fruit and rum sent to our room upon arrival. Food was amazing. Drink choice plentiful. Would highly recommend.
