Pinewood Beach Resort & Spa

An oasis at the end of Galu beach on the Indian Ocean. Relaxed atmosphere, no children so calm and tranquil. We booked an ocean front room which had stunning views and was close to the pool, beach and bars. We booked the all inclusive package which included a fabulous choice of home cooked dishes and themed nights. All the food and drinks were delicious. The rooms, grounds and communal areas were immaculate and cleaned daily. Service from all staff was impeccable. They were friendly, helpful and always smiling. We had massages in the spa which were lovely but our only suggestion would be to play some relaxing music as you could hear chatter from around the pool area and people playing table tennis. Also the pool tiling could do with a little repair in places but none of this affected our stay or overall experience. We would definately recommend this hotel for great value and service.

Pinewood met all our expectations and was perfect for us to relax at after a very busy safari itinerary. Our rooms were a good size with seating inside and on the balcony. The air conditioning worked well. Plenty of attentive and helpful staff throughout the hotel. The grounds were beautifully kept and there are extensive fish ponds and some stunning weaver birds plus tortoises to admire. The swimming pool was a good size with loungers all around and there were lots more loungers with shades on the beach where it was nice and cool due to the sea breezes. Unfortunately we couldn’t swim in the sea without reef shoes due to sea urchins but with a swim up bar in the pool why bother anyway! We had the all inclusive package which covered soft drinks, beer, house wine, safari brand spirits and a rather limited number of cocktails. All food was included except for a few specials on the lunch menu for which there was a supplement. The food was good but vegetarian choices a bit limited to curries every night. The evening meals had a different theme each night and some were meant to be poolside (bbq) or beachside (Mongolian buffet). Due to rather windy weather and some rain, all our evening meals were in the main dining room where it did get rather hot and humid with all the cooking stations. The laundry service was very good. There is a small gym by the pool that had a good standard of equipment. I had a Swahili massage at the Spa which was reasonably priced if a little unorthodox. Just next door on the beach there is a Community shop selling handicrafts, do take time to have a look and engage with the “beach boys” who work there. There are strict rules about how close they can come to the resort but once they’ve talked to you they will leave you alone. Pinewood is the last resort on Diani Beach road, towards the end the road is not made up and is uneven and bumpy but tuk tuks can get through if you fancy an excursion to Diani beach and shopping.

The most lovely stay at this beautiful and relaxing hotel! Rooms were lovely, food was wonderful and the pool and beach area were great… big shout out to Safari who worked at the pool bar always on hand to help out, ensuring we always had anything we needed, served with a smile. Great service provided and he went above and beyond every day for us. Isak in the hotel bar was also super, always served us with a smile and asked about our day. Always seem pleased to see us in the evenings and made our stay even better. And to the lovely man who served us the a dream breakfast every morning (we will miss our daily eggs and crepes 😍) and just started our day with so much happiness, thank you and we are so sorry we have forgotten your name due to not being morning people 😴🤦‍♀️! Big thanks to these three wonderful members of them team, along with the rest of them. Everyone was super friendly, helpful and left a great impression.

We booked the Pinewood Beach for some RnR following 2 weeks of intensive Safaris in Tanzania and Kenya and it was the best decision ever made. This is an exceptionally professionally run hotel under the friendly eye of Pamela the manageress. The beach side location on an almost deserted beach is idyllic and the rooms are spacious and well appointed But it is the staff who make this venue. Happy, smiling and helpful throughout nothing is ever too much trouble for them The level of food and beverage training is of the highest order resulting in excellent waiter service and high quality food prepared by chefs in pristine whites. This is a fantastic place to chill out either on the beach or by the pool I cannot recommend it highly enough

Our family of four recently had the pleasure of staying at Pinewood Beach Resort in Mombasa (Rooms 171 & 172), and we can honestly say it was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays we've ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. Every single member of staff greeted us with genuine warmth and kindness, always smiling and going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The level of hospitality throughout our stay was exceptional, and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. The food deserves a very special mention. Every meal was outstanding, with a fantastic variety of fresh, beautifully prepared dishes to suit everyone in our family. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the quality and presentation were consistently excellent. A huge thank you to the incredibly talented chefs and the entire restaurant team for their hard work and dedication. It was clear how much care and passion goes into every meal, and it made dining at the resort one of the highlights of our holiday. Housekeeping was absolutely immaculate. Our rooms were cleaned to an exceptionally high standard every day, and we were always impressed by the attention to detail. The housekeeping team did a fantastic job of ensuring everything was spotless and comfortable throughout our stay, allowing us to completely relax. The resort itself is beautifully maintained. The cleanliness across the entire property is second to none, from the pathways and pool areas to the beach and communal spaces. The gardens are simply stunning, and it is obvious how much pride the gardening team takes in their work. Every flower bed, lawn, and palm tree is meticulously cared for, creating a peaceful tropical setting that is both beautiful and relaxing. A very special thank you goes to Calab, the superb bartender, who truly made our holiday unforgettable. His professionalism, kindness, and friendly personality were unmatched. He always welcomed us with a smile, remembered our favourite drinks, and took the time to chat with us, making every visit to the bar a pleasure. His exceptional customer service and genuine care for guests are a real credit to Pinewood Beach Resort, and he played a huge part in making our family holiday so special. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Resort Manager, Pamala, whose leadership is clearly reflected throughout the resort. The exceptional standards, friendly atmosphere, and seamless organisation of the hotel are a testament to her and her wonderful team. It is evident that everyone works together to create an unforgettable experience for their guests. Thank you to every member of staff - from reception, housekeeping, the chefs and restaurant team, the gardeners, maintenance staff, and the bar team - for making our stay so memorable. Your hard work, dedication, and genuine hospitality did not go unnoticed. Pinewood Beach Resort is a true hidden gem, offering outstanding service in a beautiful setting. We left feeling completely relaxed, well looked after, and already planning our return. We cannot recommend this resort highly enough and look forward to visiting again in the future.
