NEVER have I ever stayed in such a bad hotel!!! Stayed in Rooms 333 & 318. Both rooms were VERY VERY poor and extremely dated, definately GROTTY throughout. If this hotel was in the UK it would only be worth charging max £50 per night. Balcony very poor, outlooking wall is 4ft high so that when you sat down you were unable to see out & it was like sitting in a walled box. Balcony stank of cigarette smoke at all times from other balconies. Room is divided into seating area & bed area - no lighting in the seating area. Rooms not sound proof, if you are unfortunate enought to have another room above you then you get disturbed by moving of chairs & sounds of guests walking. Cleanliness poor in places. Bathroom extractor fan filthy. Shower cubicle tiling in room 318 VERY poor, tile gout covered in mould, completely unacceptable for something we were paying for, would not accept thjis level of filth in my own home! Inclusive food very poor, had to purchase a la carte menu or go outside hotel to find anything edible. Pool water very clean but no sun umberellas making it difficult to sunbathe i.e. couldn't have top half in shade & just suntan your legs & vise versa. The sunbeds were not as in the photograph, very dated with dirty brown plastic covers. Pool towels however appeared cleaner than the towels in the room. Massage (Aromatheraphy) BAD - do not get what paid for. First of all reception messed up the booking, then they do not use arompatherapy oils (as advertised & paid for) so no preference of oils to suit your mood (as advertised & paid for), the massage room music not suitable for relaxation, this was the only time we took our mosquiito repellant bands off & I got 3 mosquito bites & my husband got 2!! When we complained about this they did try to fob us off (something about oils were blended but this was not true, there was no aroma/smell at all from the very basic oils), but in all fairness they did reimburse us for one massage. Despite them knocking one off the bill I would not have paid for a non - aromatherapy massage by choice. Good points: staff attentive, pool water was clean. My advise would be to book another hotel, plentyt of more hotels further down the beach which appeared to be better.
We have stayed for the second time here. Very nice and clean rooms, good bed. Friendly staff, very helpful and attentive. Food was delicious, buffet style with lots of variety and good taste. Recommend to stay here.
Amazing! We had great few days in the beach hotel.
For our second stay the Hotel and Personal have realy outdone themselfs! We had a blast here. The lodge feels very homely and welcoming and the staff are very nice. We had an issue with our room before and they were very keen to not just solve it, but managed to outdo themselfs in order for us to habe the very best experience. The way it is calm here and just lovely is unmatched. Especially the Food is of extraodrinary qualety and sourced localy. They are going the extra mile here to get you a Kenian experience and they do it well! I will most defently return and enjoy all this again! Special greetings to Emilly who made our stay here so memorable.
We had a very special experience with Severin Sea Lodge and would like to sincerely thank the entire team. We would especially like to highlight the Front Office Manager, Emilly Mathu, who supported us with exceptional professionalism, warmth, and reliability. My son proposed to his girlfriend during their stay, and Emily truly organized and coordinated everything perfectly. From the romantic dinner and the beautiful decorations to coordinating everything with the photographer, every detail was carefully planned. She was always very friendly, helpful, and dependable. I was particularly impressed by how quickly Emily responded to my emails and how professionally she prepared the offer and organized everything in advance. This gave us complete confidence that this special moment would turn out exactly as my son had hoped. Thanks to Emily and the team at Severin Sea Lodge, the proposal became an unforgettable and beautiful experience. We are very grateful for all the support and can wholeheartedly recommend the hotel. Thank you so much for everything — this special moment will be remembered forever.
