I stayed at Brennia Kottefaru for 16 nights, from 4–20 September, on an all-inclusive package. Having travelled extensively and experienced other resorts in the Maldives, I found Brennia to offer a very enjoyable stay overall, with beautiful surroundings, excellent accommodation and, above all, consistently warm and professional service. I would particularly like to recognise Yassine, my Island Host, and Kamrul from the restaurant service team. Yassine was consistently professional, responsive and helpful throughout my stay. Whenever I had a request, he was readily available to assist, and he also checked in proactively whenever we crossed paths around the island to make sure everything was going well. In particular, when I requested a change of villa location, he took the request seriously and helped coordinate the move promptly. His approach throughout my stay was attentive, efficient and guest-focused, and I very much appreciated his support. Kamrul also deserves special recognition. He was consistently friendly, polite and professional during restaurant service, whether welcoming me and helping me find a table, serving coffee or wine, or simply making the dining experience pleasant. His positive attitude and attention to guests stood out during my stay. The restaurant team more broadly was excellent. Staff were attentive, courteous and professional throughout the 16 days. Food quality was consistently good across breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a good selection available. Naturally, during a stay of more than two weeks, some repetition becomes noticeable, but personally I did not find this problematic. The all-inclusive package also covered a very good range of beverages, including wine, Aperol and cocktails, and I rarely felt the need to purchase anything additional. The accommodation itself was excellent. My villas were comfortable, very clean and well maintained, and I was particularly satisfied with the housekeeping service. The housekeeping staff were always polite and the standard of cleanliness remained consistently high throughout my stay. I had requested a quiet, lagoon-facing villa several months before arrival. My initially allocated villa was located behind the water villas, which was not the area I had hoped for. That part of the island also has considerably more coral in the shallow water, making it less comfortable to walk into the sea. After discussing my preference with Yassine, the resort made a genuine effort to accommodate my request and relocated me the following day to the lagoon side, which was exactly the environment I had been looking for: peaceful, beautiful and with excellent access to the water. My only suggestion here would be for advance villa-location requests to be taken into consideration during the initial allocation wherever operationally possible. As my request had been submitted in June for a September arrival, it would have made the arrival experience even better to have been allocated the requested side of the island from the beginning. Later during my stay, when a maintenance issue arose in the villa, the team responded immediately and arranged an alternative without unnecessary inconvenience, including an upgrade to a pool villa. I particularly appreciated the speed and professionalism with which the situation was handled. Maintenance issues can occur at any property; for me, the important point is how a resort responds, and Brennia handled the situation very well. The island itself is beautiful. There are long stretches of beach that are perfect for walking, and I particularly enjoyed the lagoon side of the island. The water there was beautiful and excellent for swimming. The only area I personally liked less was the beach behind the water villas because of the amount of coral in the shallow water. I also enjoyed the evening entertainment, including the fire show. The member of staff responsible for the activities was engaging with guests and helped create a pleasant atmosphere without making the activities feel intrusive. The pool, beach bar and spa were also very enjoyable, and I had a positive experience with the resort facilities I used. There are two areas where I believe Brennia could improve. The first is Wi-Fi connectivity. The connection was frequently weak, including around the restaurant and bar areas. For a leisure holiday this may only be an inconvenience, but for guests who need to work remotely or remain reliably connected, it could become a significant limitation. Improving coverage and connection stability across the island would make a noticeable difference. The second relates to the all-inclusive drinks policy. Drinks collected from the bar, including cocktails served in plastic rather than glass, were required to remain within the bar area and could not be taken to another part of the beach or back to the villa. I found this unnecessarily restrictive for an all-inclusive resort. Part of the pleasure of being on a Maldivian island is being able to walk along the beach or enjoy different areas of the resort with a drink. Given that plastic drinkware is already used, I would encourage the resort to reconsider this policy where appropriate. Overall, Brennia Kottefaru provided very good value for money and delivered a consistently enjoyable experience over a relatively long 16-night stay. What stood out most was the professionalism and warmth of the staff, the quality and cleanliness of the accommodation, the beautiful lagoon and beaches, and the way the team responded quickly whenever assistance was required. With so many beautiful resorts in the Maldives, I generally prefer discovering somewhere new rather than repeating the same destination, but I would certainly recommend Brennia to other travellers looking for a beautiful island, good all-inclusive value and genuinely attentive service.
We had a great stay at Brennia in a Deluxe Ocean Pool Villa on the left side. The villa itself was fantastic, spacious, and kept in great condition throughout our visit. Highlights Wildlife: We saw a huge variety of fish—including stingrays—directly in front of our villa! Snorkeling Cruise: The snorkeling cruise was a major highlight. The guide was fantastic, even taking our GoPro to shoot amazing videos of the turtles for us. Sunsets & Location Notes: We loved watching gorgeous sunsets directly from our balcony on the left side. However, future guests should keep a few layout details in mind: Noise & Views: The left side has louder seaplane noise during arrivals and departures, whereas the right side is more silent (though you'd likely only catch a partial sunrise there). Reef & Water Depth: The reef is closer on the right side, and the water level is lower there compared to the left. Delicious Dining: The food was consistently good. While not extraordinary, there was always plenty of variety, and we easily found options we loved. Outstanding Housekeeping: The entire staff was super friendly. A special shout-out to Raj Kumar Paul, our room cleaner, who was exceptionally great. When reception couldn't help with the afternoon heat, Raj creatively tied something out of bedsheets so we could finally have some shade on the balcony! Areas for Improvement Disappointing Excursions: While snorkeling was great, our other cruises were a letdown. The dolphin cruise was repeatedly rescheduled due to boat issues until it clashed with our departure. The sunset cruise eventually happened on our last day, but it wasn't worth it—it only lasted 40 minutes, suffered from poor organization, and took place on an old boat that stank of diesel and polluted the ocean with black exhaust. Departure Stress: The return seaplane timing left us with a very tight connection for our international flight, and the resort was unhelpful in arranging an earlier flight. Weather & Balcony Shade: We visited during the wet season and had one completely rainy day (though the rest of the weather was surprisingly fine). More importantly, the balcony in the Deluxe Ocean Pool Villa has no sun umbrella. By 3:00 PM, it has no shade and is unusable until sunset. Unfortunately, reception could not offer any solution. Communication Breakdown: We requested a room switch halfway through our stay, but sadly, we never received a response.
We stayed here for 10 nights, what an experience! Beautiful overwater deluxe villa! The food was good and the island itself is small however everything is catered for! We went diving 3 times with Shakur who was absolutely fantastic, a phenomenal guide and teacher! Our room each day was absolutely spotless and that was thanks to Raj Kumar Paul, what an absolute gentlemen! Nothing was ever too much and his attention to detail was phenomenal! He is an asset to the resort!
The resort is located on a beautiful island surrounded by turquoise-blue water. Our Deluxe Water Villa with a private pool was spacious and had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Raj kumar paül was responsible for our housekeeping and everything related to it. He kept our room exceptionally clean every day and was always extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. Every evening, he would ask us if we needed anything else. Thank you so much, Raj, for your excellent service and for always making us feel so well taken care of!
Jalal is very very good, room cleaning and room service perfeckt. Thank you jalal
