Filitheyo Island Resort

A small boutique island that’s all about tranquility and quiet - when we visited the island was only around 25% full. The good: * The resort lives up to the quintessential Maldives experience of white coral sand, blue skies, lush tropical forest and no shoes * It doesn’t try to be manicured - all the buildings sit naturally within the islands flora. * Whilst there are excursions available and some activities, there’s no Entertainments team drumming up business daily - you’re here to relax on your terms. * The food at the main restaurant buffet is fresh and delicious, refreshed often each session and offers great variety. It’d be nice to know what’s sourced locally from the Atol (like the amazing reef fish) and what’s imported. * Toilets both in your room and in the public areas are kept spotless * There are *NO* single use plastics on the island - glasses (including the plastic ones) are all washed and re-used. Sodas all come in recyclable cans. The not so good: * If you’re not all inclusive, expect a hefty bill at the end of your stay - $4 for a glass of soda is at the cheap end of the menu. * There’s clearly pressure on staff to ensure everything tallies up so you’ll be signing a tab after each visit to a bar or restaurant - even if you’re All Inclusive. * Scuba diving is on the expensive side too - best to pre-pay for a block of dives, but do expect to have an extras bill at the end as well.

We’ve had a beautiful 5 day stay at Filitheyo. What a paradise island and resort. The beach and snorkeling are fantastic. Everything resort wise was perfect - from the arrival by seaplane, to the delightful beachfront rooms, to the excellent food and drink options. But it has been the service and people that has been next level. Our room guy Allal cleaned our room twice a day. Reception lovely people Kusum and Zuhoor were endlessly helpful. The guys serving in the Sunset Bar are tops! Such great guys who give such quick efficient, warm and fun service daily. Big thanks to Faruk, Dino, Virage, Raj, Rubil, Jerome and Nur. Thanks to the chefs and the others names we missed. 😀💕🙏🏼

If you are looking for marble floors, impatient and inattentive staff,poor food?..don’t come here! On the other hand ,if you want a paradise island, great food,excellent staff, great accommodation,space,peace and attention to detail…you’ve found it. Our holiday was 5 star all the way. Special mention for our server..Marnie who was with us throughout,even being there to serve us at 4.30 AM on return. Points for guests, cotton clothing for the high humidity, mozzy spray,,and buy your US dollars for tips elsewhere. Snorkelling was fantastic,particularly at marker 5, even for us two amateurs hundreds of colourful fish to see.Thank you Filitheyo Island for such a very special holiday. What a magical place to spend our 20th wedding anniversary. The location brings supreme natural beauty, from white sands to blue skies, sunsets that go on for hours while the dolphins say hello, and that’s all above the surface! Take a swim, a snorkel, a scuba dive, and find yourself amongst beautiful coral, so many varieties and colours of fish, manta rays, eels, clams, and sharks! Our stay in a water villa was amazing - gorgeous views, so clean and well cared for, nature literally on the doorstep, and we could take a swim or a snorkel from our staircase into the clear blue waters below. Brilliant food options - both European and Asian cuisine to choose from, with both repetition and variation so we could explore options but also go back for favourites All the staff were so welcoming and helpful. Hailing from many shores, they come together to provide the most comfortable and attentive experience available, always looking for ways to help brighten the next part of your getaway. Words we’ve used to describe our time away - surreal, magical, beautiful, majestic, magnificent. We are so lucky to have experienced this beautiful destination
