SAii Lagoon Maldives, Curio Collection by Hilton

My experience at the hotel was quite mixed. There were some positive aspects, but I expected a much higher level of service and attention to detail. Arrival & Check-in The airport arrival experience was very good. Once I found the hotel representative, I was greeted and escorted to the sitting area while waiting for the rest of the guests. We were then taken to the boat, and after around 15 minutes, we arrived at the hotel. Unfortunately, the first impression at the resort was not particularly strong. The buggy driver who picked us up was a foreigner and barely engaged at all. There was no communication or attempt to explain anything about the resort or make us feel welcomed. The check-in process itself was fairly quick. I was given a list of restaurants to book, although half of the restaurants on the list were apparently no longer operating. I was then taken to the room, but again, there was no explanation or introduction—just a drop-off. The luggage was already there, which was good. Service & Guest Experience This was probably the biggest disappointment throughout my stay. I had booked a padel court before arrival, but the reservation had not been recorded. The court costs USD 50 per hour, which I have no issue paying. However, at that price point, I would expect at least some basic hospitality, perhaps a bottle of water included. Instead, when I arrived at the court, the main interaction was being told how much I would have to pay if I broke a racket, lost a ball, or damaged the court. I understand that guests sometimes damage equipment, and of course, there need to be rules. But there is a way to communicate these things. A simple "Hi, how are you enjoying your stay?" or "We hope you're enjoying the resort" would have made a huge difference. Basic customer service and genuine engagement go a long way, especially in a luxury resort. The buggy service can also involve a 10–20 minute wait, which I found acceptable. The buggy drivers themselves were generally nice people, although they were frequently on their phones, so again, don't expect much interaction. Interestingly, I found the gardeners to be among the most engaging employees. They consistently greeted me whenever they saw me, which says something about the importance of simple, genuine interactions with guests. Food Unfortunately, food was probably the weakest part of the hotel experience. Prices are high, but I don't particularly mind paying high prices when the quality justifies it. Unfortunately, the food at the Olive Oil restaurant was extremely disappointing. I would genuinely recommend that the GM go and order the risotto, eat it, and ask himself whether he would be happy paying the price for it as a guest. Breakfast was served at one location and was acceptable, but nothing particularly memorable. Room & Resort The rooms are nice, although nothing particularly special considering the price point. If you get a room on one of the lower floors, you may have direct access to the beach, which is a great feature. You may also have boats and speedboats passing in front of the resort, but that's part of being in the Maldives and didn't bother me. I also slept well during my stay, which is always a positive. Overall The Maldives itself is, of course, beautiful, and there are some good elements to the resort. However, the small details and the service experience matter enormously. For the price, I would say the hotel is okay. The rooms are nice, the location is beautiful, and there are some friendly members of staff. But the overall service lacks warmth, genuine engagement, and attention to detail. Too many interactions felt transactional rather than hospitality-driven. I enjoyed my time in the Maldives, but I don't think I would return to SAii.

We have visited this Resort,especially this barmen who works at San Ray Bar😍He loves his work so much and all guests feel themselves like at home!He made our trip easier and so comfortable,his name is Thiru actually,and he has mild heart and feels all passengers request so deeply! We really appreciate his hospitality and attitude for us!

Our experience at SAii Lagoon Maldives was absolutely incredible - 5 stars ++++! Flying direct from Melbourne Australia reception at SAii arranged faultless transfers too and from the airport, there was nothing for us to arrange or do but relax from arrival to departure. SAii was definitely the 1st choice island to be staying at, but having the ability to visit and enjoy other areas such as hard rock and the marina meant there was different activities and places to choose from and explore. Recreation facilities and activities were excellent for both adults and children. A kids club where both Tami and Fian were caring, kind and super fun - according to my 10 yr old daughter! The SAii Spa which included Spa treatments for young and the mature, were sensational. One of the best treatments I’ve ever experienced. Our room, serviced by Ibbe, was cleaned and serviced to such a high standard- Ibbe we were so grateful for your care and attention to detail, making our stay extra special. Then the food and drinks…amazing!!! We’re Melbourne foodies and we had the opportunity to experience most of the 8++ resultants on the islands. Almost every time, breakfast, lunch or dinner we had a dish that we found ourselves stating ‘the best we’ve ever had’ and the service by Rahul at the SAii pool bar - outstanding and so personable and again, he made our stay extra special. Finally, location, what can I say….it's the Maldives, it’s paradise, it’s exquisite and we cannot wait to return!

We had a truly wonderful stay at SAii Lagoon Maldives and really enjoyed every moment of our experience. Our overwater villa was beautifully designed, very clean, well maintained, and offered an absolutely stunning ocean view. Waking up surrounded by turquoise water was one of the highlights of our trip. 🌊✨ We also enjoyed the resort’s beautiful restaurants and delicious food, with a relaxing atmosphere that made every meal special. What impressed us most was the warm hospitality of the team. From the Front Office and buggy drivers to Housekeeping and restaurant staff, everyone was friendly, attentive, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. A special appreciation to the Housekeeping team for keeping our villa spotless and comfortable throughout our stay. The attention to detail made a real difference. For us, SAii Lagoon Maldives was not only a beautiful resort, but also a place where the service and people made the experience truly memorable.
