Sun Siyam Olhuveli Maldives

We have just had our best family holiday yet at Sun Siyam Olhuveli! Everything was simply perfect. Just when you thought the day couldn’t get any better, you’d discover another beautiful pool, a new spot to snorkel, or find the mantas making an appearance after dinner! The resort is immaculately maintained, and ALL the staff are exceptionally kind and polite, always greeting guests with a genuine smile wherever you go. Bashir, who looked after our villa, was wonderful. He kept everything spotless and regularly surprised the children with the most inventive animal-themed towel arrangements. Mohammed, our waiter at the Sunset Restaurant, was always attentive and professional, remembering our preferred drinks without fail. Ibraihim at the Olive Bar on Dream Island was equally delightful, even treating the children to a complimentary drink. Afshan at the gift shop creates the most beautiful hand-painted T-shirts and kindly made a bespoke one for my son when he couldn’t find one featuring a lionfish. These are just a few examples of how everyone goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The islands are breathtakingly beautiful, and our villa was fabulous. However, we must give a particularly special mention to the incredible team at the Dive Centre, who made our holiday even more memorable. Adam took my daughter through her Open Water course and was an exceptionally thorough, knowledgeable and enthusiastic instructor. From the outset, we knew she was in the safest hands. The rest of the family also had the pleasure of diving with him as our guide, and we joined him on the whale shark snorkelling trip. Throughout every experience, Adam was an absolute joy to be around. Ubey also accompanied us on the whale shark trip and was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing some lovely conversations with my son along the way. Luca introduced my son to his very first dive and struck the perfect balance between giving him enough information to feel confident and focused while keeping the experience exciting and fun. My son grew particularly fond of Luca and would run to give him a big hug whenever he saw him! We have had an absolute dream of a holiday, and we will cherish the memories we made here for many years to come. A huge thank you to everyone at Sun Siyam Olhuveli for making it so special!

Amazing stay, beautiful view,excellent hospitality and unforgettable memories ❤️

Having now completed our stay, I wanted to update my original review as, thankfully, our experience improved considerably during the second half of our holiday. Overall, we had a lovely stay at Sun Siyam Olhuveli and felt it offered good value for money, particularly given the accommodation and all-inclusive package. The positives needless to say the island itself is beautiful, and the resort has plenty to offer. The island is immaculately kept - with staff often seen around the island tidying leaves and debris that get washed on shore. The buggy service runs regularly around the island, making it easy to get around, and there is a good choice of restaurants and activities. Whilst we initially felt the buffet was a little disappointing in terms of food quality and freshness, the buffet did have a great number of choices and there was always something we were happy to eat. we also really enjoyed the à la carte restaurants. In particular, Milano and Crust and Flame were favourites of ours, and we had some lovely meals there. We also enjoyed the sunset cruise, which was included in our all-inclusive package, and took the dolphin cruise during our stay. This was a real highlight, as we were lucky enough to see lots of dolphins! I also wanted to mention that the boat transfer back to the airport was much smoother than our journey to the resort. The journey out had been particularly choppy, so I think we were just unlucky with the weather that day rather than this being the norm. A special mention to management One of my initial disappointments was that, despite contacting the resort in advance and mentioning it again on arrival, my husband’s 40th birthday hadn’t been acknowledged. However, following my original review, the manager, Kate, personally reached out and took the time to meet with me. She made sure that my husband had a lovely birthday dinner and drinks, which was a really thoughtful gesture and very much appreciated. It was genuinely nice to see that our feedback had been acknowledged and that someone had taken ownership of putting things right. It made a difference to how we felt about the resort and was a good example of management listening to its guests. We had also experienced some confusion with an activity booking earlier in our stay, which was disappointing, particularly as we had specifically checked that it was going ahead. Communication around this could have been better. Overall Whilst there were a few initial hiccups, these didn’t define our holiday, and I’m glad to say that we left with some lovely memories. The resort offers a beautiful setting, a good selection of dining options and plenty to do. The response from management to our feedback was particularly appreciated, and it was nice to finish our stay on such a positive note. I think there is still some room for improvement in certain areas, particularly buffet food quality and communication around activities, but overall we had a really enjoyable holiday and would recommend Sun Siyam Olhuveli to others looking for a good-value Maldives experience.

I stayed at sun siyam olhuveli from october 11th untill 17th, i travelled solo and this was my 1st time travelling solo and i was quite nervous but not once did i feel alone the staff are so attentive and always checking if you are ok, maldives has always been a dream destination for me and as i was turning 50 i decided to book the maldives and choose this place after a lot of research i felt it had everything that i would need and WOW it exceeded my expectations from landing in male i was greeted by the staff and they stayed chatting to me while we waited 10 min for a family then swiftly on to the speedboat then 45 min later we arrived at the resort and straight away i knew i had arrived in paradise, the welcome greeting is a lovely touch drums leading you down the jetty then the concho as you walk to reception, i stayed in a sunset beach pavillion room 209 and it was perfect for me the room was cleaned twice a day by my lovely cleaner (sorry i didnt get his name) the island just has the wow factor from the 3 islands main dream and romance all absolutley stunning and spotlesly clean, the food is amazing i was all inclusive and could eat at the a la carte resteraunts and boy they did not dissapoint an extensive menu to choose from, apart from this island being absolutley stunning the staff made this holiday perfect for me you were always greeted by passing staff with a hand on their heart which i beleive is a gesture of respect and affection you could ask any member of staff a question and they would answer you or go out of their way to help you. i was blown away on the day of my birthday i came back to my room to a beautifully decorated bed and a bottle of bubbly and i was in milano restarunt for my evening meal when the staff came out singing and dancing and brought me a birthday cake i then went over to lagoon bar for the maldivian show and Ankit had reserved me a table and got the dj to play me 2 birthday songs as he sat me at my tabe and looked after me the whole evening with special birthday cocktails. i would like to mention a few members of staff that looked after me while i was there. ANKIT from lagoon bar he looked after me every single night always checking i was ok and if i needed anything, SUMIT from sunset swim up pool bar who looked after me during the day and entertaining me with stories from his home country india and his knowledge of different wines and different cuisines that i should try, honestly you guys made my trip so special and not once did i feel like i was on my own. AIDA my island host always at the end of a message if i needed to ask or change any of my bookings and sorting a room for my late check out. AFU from the dive centre i have always been scared of the sea and fish coming near me but i knew i had to try snorkelling or would regret it afu was amazing i booked 2 lessons with him and he was amazing and so patient by the 2nd lesson the next day i was off on my own filming turtles, octopus baby sharks and a variety of colourfull fish, NAHZAANN from main island watersports i booked the shark shoot (who would of thought 4 days previously i was scared of the sea and fish then i went on a boat trip and laid on a float while huge nurse sharks swam around me) thank you so much this was a once in a lifetime experience, i was devastated leaving your beautifull resort and had tears in my eyes as the staff waved the speedboat away from the jetty my only regret is that i did not book to stay here longer but i am already planning on returning to stay with you guys and i know this will be a place that keep on doing so i left feeling at peace with a full heart and a million memories that will last forever and can not wait to make more on my return. From the bottom of my heart thank you all so much for making my holiday and birthday amazing.

The adventure of spending time in the middle of an island became a memory to remember for a lifetime.
