Villa Park Sun Island

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel immediately welcome. We were allocated a beach bungalow but were upgraded to a sunset beach bungalow, which was a lovely surprise. Accommodation was excellent and had everything we needed, the room attendant cleaned twice a day and was very friendly, professional and so discreet that unfortunately we didn't learn his name (we were in Villa 429, 7-16/9/26). Bonnie was our host and she was available to book extras for us and sent a timetable every day. We were extremely well looked after in the restaurant by Ananth and Shah Alam. The food was excellent in the restaurant plenty of choice and really fresh. We also recommend ZERO (treetop dining was a fantastic experience) as well as the Italian restaurant. The coffee shop, Vani, is a lovely relaxed atmosphere and we were provided excellent hospitality by Pratik, Ashish and Pandi. We also really enjoyed the Golf Bar where Verdant, Jamal and the rest of the team saw to our every need. The entire resort is beautiful, clean and well maintained and the closest thing to paradise that we have ever seen. We waited 5 years for our honeymoon and were not disappointed, our expectations were well exceeded and we can't wait to return in the future

I came here with my boyfriend and we had the best welcome by oshani and tdj belz and nick the fire dancer as well as mamata and manita from main bar made us feel so welcome and couldn't do enough for us and made us feel like celebrities and we look forward to returning next year hope to see you all next year

We had a lovely stay at this resort and were really impressed by how friendly, welcoming and accommodating the staff were throughout our time there. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and the staff genuinely made us feel looked after. The sea is absolutely amazing , crystal clear, beautiful and perfect for swimming and enjoying the range of activities available, you can swim with sharks and rays and lots of fish for free . There is plenty to do at the resort, so we never felt short of things to enjoy. I particularly want to mention DJ Belz and Nick Fire Dancer from the entertainment team. They were fantastic and really helped make our stay memorable. They were friendly, fun and made such an effort with the guests. Thank you both for making our holiday even more enjoyable! I would definitely recommend mentioning them if you leave feedback, as they deserve the recognition. The only downside for us was the behaviour of some guests, particularly some of the Russian-speaking guests. Of course, this absolutely does not apply to everyone, but there were a number of occasions where we experienced very little queuing etiquette or consideration for others, and some guests were quite rude towards both staff and other holidaymakers. It was disappointing to see staff being treated this way, particularly when they were consistently so friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, this did take away from the experience at times. Overall, though, we had a memorable stay and the staff, beautiful sea and range of activities were definite highlights. We have just returned from our third trip to Villa Park Sun Island in the Maldives, and once again, we have come home with incredible memories. We were fortunate enough to stay in a private beach villa apartment, which was absolutely beautiful, but for us, what makes Sun Island so special isn't simply the location, the beaches or the turquoise water. It is the people. The level of service we experienced from the staff throughout our stay was genuinely exceptional. There is a warmth, friendliness and willingness to help that you simply don't find in many places around the world. In fact, there are hotels and resorts elsewhere that could take serious lessons from the team at Sun Island. We would particularly like to recognise and congratulate the following members of staff: Dewi – Coffee Shop Always welcoming, friendly and attentive. Dewi consistently made our visits to the coffee shop a pleasure. Pandi – Coffee Shop Another wonderful member of the team who always greeted us with a smile and provided fantastic service. Shashia – Restaurant Thank you for your kindness and attention. Your service helped make our meals even more enjoyable. Tara – Main Bar Tara was fantastic during our evenings at the Main Bar. Always friendly, attentive and a pleasure to see. Alam – Restaurant Thank you for your excellent service and for helping make our dining experiences so memorable. Abishek & Jashan – Restaurant Both were absolutely brilliant. Their attention to detail and genuine friendliness really stood out. Kawsar – Fruit Chef What a fantastic member of the team! The care and effort that went into the fruit preparation was exceptional, and it was clear that Kawsar takes real pride in his work. Vishal – Coffee Shop Another member of the team who consistently provided excellent service with a smile. Rajib – Buggy Service Always helpful and friendly whenever we needed transportation around the island. Thank you, Rajib! Himyaan & Manush – Italian Restaurant Both provided wonderful service and helped make our visits to the Italian restaurant particularly enjoyable. Kawsar – Buggy Service Thank you for always being so helpful, welcoming and accommodating. Your service was greatly appreciated. A special mention must also go to Amith, Head Chef at the Sun Restaurant by the Water Villas. His passion and commitment were obvious, and the food and overall experience were fantastic. And finally, Rhaminder, Head Chef on the island. Thank you for everything you do. Having someone who clearly cares so much about the overall guest experience makes a huge difference. What makes these people so special is that their service never felt forced or simply like they were "doing their job". There was genuine warmth behind it. We were remembered, greeted with smiles, looked after and made to feel welcome throughout our stay. After three visits to Sun Island, we can honestly say that the staff have become one of the biggest reasons we keep coming back. To everyone we have mentioned — and to all the other members of the Sun Island team who work incredibly hard behind the scenes — thank you. You should all be incredibly proud of the experience you provide to your guests. The Maldives is obviously spectacular, but it is the people who turn a beautiful holiday into an unforgettable one.
