Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette & Spa

We stayed at the Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette for 2 weeks at the start of September. From the moment we arrived we were looked after. After a very long journey it was lovely to be greeted with ice cold towels and a cold drink. We were given all the info we needed and they came and found us when our room was ready. The room was spacious and had everything we needed and the bathroom a good size with a great shower. House keeping do a great job and it was lovely to get little petals left on the bed as decoration. We did the star gazing evening at the sister hotel and was definitely worth doing, the astronomer was so knowledgeable and ended up a highlight of the holiday. Food was great and plenty of choice and the waiters and waitresses could not do enough for you, the same at the bar. Service was very good and they were all helpful and friendly. Lunch at the Aqua bar was great, tasty and plenty of choice. We also did some of the a la carte menu in the evenings and also the lobster evening (I couldn't eat it all there was so much and I felt bad leaving it but cannot stop thinking about the butternut squash sauce on the starter; it was amazing!). Entertainment wise it is relatively quiet, but we knew that anyway. The DJ needs to switch up the songs as he plays the same everytime. The two older mauritian guy singers / guitar players were great and we loved them. Really like that the Sega dancers also did a routine in the restaurant so you didn't miss it if you were eating still. My only negative is that apart from the activities guy who does aqua fit, volleyball, ping pong etc who does work hard and interacts, the others just weren't interested in guests. For towel change they would barely look up from their phones and I tried to speak to them about paddleboarding but they were really unhelpful and it was too late by the time I found out I should have done it at the sister hotel. Snorkeling at the hotel was good with plenty to see and a safe area to snorkel in. The hotel dog is adorable and the manager guy who looks after him is great, we spoke to him and at home he also looks after a lot of dogs. The god at the hotel never begs for food or bothers guests he just walks around like he is living his best life We weren't planning on returning to Mauritius again however we loved this hotel so much that we may well go again in a few years. This is an adults only establishment which suited us perfectly. Like many hotels in Mauritius, is is right on the beach and provides some excellent package options. We had a ground floor unit and the beach was only about 20 meters from our verandah. Whilst in Mauritius we undertook a morning tour to the Botanical Gardens which are an one hour ride from the hotel. We also undertook a full day catamaran excursion which was excellent and included 2 hours on Ile Cerf which is worth a visit if you plan to undertake Para-sailing. Otherwise it was very busy with tourists. We were able to snorkel the reefs for at least an hour on this excursion. It was possible to take a bus transfer (20 minutes) to the Raddisson Azure from the Raddisson Lafayette. The beach is excellent and we were able to have lunch at their restaurant as part of our package. Walking from our hotel was safe although the roads are somewhat narrow in Mauritius. A visit to the National Park ( a 10 minute walk) was worth the effort on one of the windy days that we experienced. Other than that,the weather was great. The hotel provided nightly live entertainment and the pancakes for afternoon tea or coffee were to die for. We had a great time.

The hotel and grounds are excellent - a little old. Wheelchair-accessible, though there is some room for improvement. The hotel, grounds and rooms are clean. The food is excellent and varied. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful! Special mentions go to: - Jimmy (Service): our ray of sunshine - Dipak (Waiter): simply the best - Daniela (Reception): always helpful and speaks German - Satish (Taxi driver for excursions): simply perfect!

This is a smaller and more friendly hotel which we absolutely loved. The service from all the staff was outstanding! A special mention to Josette Petit Petit - who cooked most of the eggs I ate - poached, fried, omelettes, eggs Royale all amazing every time and to Abanash whose service in the evenings at the bar was just brilliant. Food selection was good, as we are huge fans of Indian food we always had loads of choice alongside the themed evenings. There is also the chance to book at the other restaurant which has some choices included in the all inclusive option (there are a few meals which are in addition to the package). Our room was close to reception, it has everything you need, modern and compact (there are bigger rooms, ours was the standard). Spa was good, I had one massage and would rate this very good. The gym was small but had all the basics for a decent workout. The pool was good and the amount of sunbeds was enough that you never struggled to get a spot (very few ppl out towels out early which was a big bonus). The only reason for 4 not 5 is the dogs that were allowed in the hotel and restaurant (I’m sure this is something that could easily be sorted especially for those people who are scared of dogs). Overall. Loved this hotel and would recommend and definitely would return !
